I know what you''re talking about with the pooch! I am only 112 pounds, 5''8" and never had kids. I have a little pooch on my lower stomach that won''t go away. The trainer at the gym says that it is skin. Someone else said that I am so skinny, that it is my insides. Whatever it is - I hate it!!

I saw manequins in a window the other day - with bathing suits on. The manequins had a small pooch - so maybe it is how women are naturally made. There has to be some curves.

Surgury is not a bad thing if you go to a good doctor and have reasonable expectations. There will always be someone prettier - you just have to accept that.

Geez, 5''8" and 112 lbs. My best friend is 5''5" and 108 and she looks anorexic. When I was got married at 21, I was solid muscle (gymnastics and running), 5''3" and 110lbs, and I was skinny, and a size 5 wedding dress was almost to big. They didnt make 2''s or 4''s in 1981. Anyway, on lipo, yes they suck out fat cells, but the ones left can get larger. I thought I remember hearing you can add fat, but it never really goes away, the cells just shrink. Lipo is not for someone who wants to lose weight by doing it. It is truly temorary.

Hell yes. I want to be able to bounce a quarter off any part of my nimbly nipped, tightly tucked, supremely sculpted self.

You can get this way without surgery. You just have to sweat and push yourself like your life depends on it. So many people at the gym -- sorry, but it is mainly women -- read magazines and gaze around while on the cross-trainer. I feel like yelling, ''Get on the treadmill, crank up your ipod and let''s get down to some freakin'' intervals!''
It''s not possible for all people to get that way using diet and exercise, nor is it practical for a lot of folks to spend an adequate amount of time exercising to get in and stay in shape. I have low body fat, work out every day using cardio & weights, have been doing so my entire adult life and there are portions of my anatomy that will not comply with my wishes. No amount of pec flies, bench pressing, etc. has lifed the twins. The muscles above, below, and around them are well developed, but the twins have still heeded the call of gravity.

And I relate to your statements about the gym. I get so tired of asking people to move off a piece of equipment when they''ve hogged it for hours just chittychatting with a friend.
Guess I''m just lucky then

I don''t have any "pooch" and put that down to competitive running, sculpt classes and ashtanga yoga. Oh, and genetics, too -- my dad is 6''1 and weighed 125bs until the age of 45.

Its true that once you have lipo on a given area of the body, it is gone, BUT the fat CAN come back if you are not smart and conscientous on your diet and exercise. The fat will go elsewhere that you have a tendency to naturally carry fat. Lipo is not meant as a substitute for eating smart and daily exercise. I regained about 7 lbs of fat in my butt and arms and am working with a trainer and going to the gym to drop that weight as well as to tone and finesse the rest of me. For me, it wasn''t that I pigged out, but rather, I needed to watch more carefully portion size. Now, I am and it is showing in the way my clothes fit. I don''t do the scale weigh-in thing more than once a week...that can be misleading and as women, we can tell by the way our clothes fit over the numbers...

Lipo is bad to do if you''re using it as a tool towards losing weight. I know a woman who had the area above her knees sucked out, she didn''t eat better or work out and now there are dents where the lipo was. The weight went up around it... very unattractive!

I think lipo is best for someone who takes great care of themselves. It''s a way to get rid of those problem areas working out doesn''t help. And you need to maintain or else end up with odd fat deposits.
KittenKat, you are absolutely right...I have worked out with almost every pregnancy until 2 weeks b4 delivery and so for me--after 9 pregnancies--had ran the gamut of what I could do thru exercise to rid myself of pounds--an ongoing struggle--so for me, the stretched out skin was just not as elastic as it once was. I don''t want to leave the impression that I am so "into myself", cuz I am not. I just want to be the best I can be and be healthy doing it.

I agree...sweat it out, pump it out, increase the reps, keep moving and do all you can do...surgery should always be a last resort. In the same voice, us ladies are harder on our own gender than anyone else. We need to stop comparing ourselves so damn much...also, for those of us who had no alternative but to get "overhauled" due to out of our control circumstances, I wish others would not judge us...I have had my share of comments and i handle it pretty well I think...quite honestly, I use any pent up frustration to fuel me on the treadmill or in my cardio...just my opinions...

I don''t know if I would have anything done myself, but I think it is great if someone has a feature they hate and can impove it by surgery. Now if only someone could straighten my spine without almost cutting me in half I might consider it.....

Scoliosis sucks

I have a mild case of scoliosis. In fact, when I went for a consultation with a plastic surgeon(asymmetrical boobs) he told me the scoliosis was partly responsible for my lopsided appearance.

I haven't had anything done yet...but I'm planning on a tummy tuck/lipo. My stomach has never been flat but it was atrocious after ds..I'm sure it will be worse after this baby too.

Also I'd like to even my breasts out. I've had different opinions...one doctor advises balancing with implants, but another advised subtracting from the larger one.

I'm leaning(heehee! bah dum bum!) towards the second opinion.

Before anything, I have to lose a ton of weight and get back on my exercise sched.

If I had the nerve, I'd love to get some permanent lipcolor(the whole lip not just liner)too. I hate that my lips have next to no natural color. I inherited that from my father's side. My mom and brother don't have that awful look... they also have more fullness while mine are more flat

So much for that particular gift of African ancestry. A bit of plumping isn't out of the question for me either. I loved the way they looked when I had dental braces - everything was more pouty.

When stuck w/o lipcolor(and before I was allowed to wear make-up)... I've actually pinched and bitten them in a pinch to get some color. I love cherry popsicles and red candies that stain too.

I'm scared of the pain from lip tattooing(and frightened of an inept practitioner! don't wanna resemble The Joker)tho' ...the thought of being able to wear lip gloss only is sooo tempting!

I know how you feel Kaylagee with the lopsidedness. I look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and as I am tall it is even worse

I guess that is another reason why I love diamonds so, as clothes never look good due to the hump on my back, crooked hips etc. As for the pain of it

it is a terribly painful condition, but it could be a lot worse and for that I am very grateful! Yes it can affect the 'Bristols" too

and make them lopsided as we say in England
