I am planning to create a pendant from my current 1ct e-ring diamond (probably a half-bezel setting). I am hoping for something very wearable and comfortable, something that won''t pull hair or feel scratchy, so I can wear it every day.

What type of chain would you recommend?

Thanks!

I like the look of a cable chain with a half-bezel setting. I have a cable chain pendant and I don''t think it''s scratchy and it never gets caught on things. Hope that helps!

Have you considered a very light spiga chain?

Just a warning here - spiga chains kink VERY easily. I have two of them - one is WG and the other is platinum and both have kinked badly enough that a jeweler has had to fix them!

Oh I am sorry to hear that I have had the same one since I was 8 and it is still perfect...maybe it is becuase mine is silver. I am sorry.

Oooh, that will be so nice! As for the chain, it''s a tough call. You have so many options. I had put this pic together for someone a while back; I hope it is of some help to you. My favorite is the fine standard link with subtle faceting in the upper right. I have that style for my bezel set .50 pendant and a couple others.

Chains This is a link to alot of different chains, with great close ups and whatnot.

My favorite chain is the wheat. It is very smooth and the strongest chain on the market weight for weight.

Another style that is very nice for your 1ct pendant is the snake. It is very very smooth allowing your pendant to slide freely.

Wheat and spiga are the same. I want to clarify that if you''re VERY gentle on your necklaces (which I assume Matatora is) you shouldn''t have a problem with this style kinking. I''m just not that good with my chains and don''t hang them up properly and this may be the reason for mine needing repair. . .

They are strong, though, I agree.

I love the look of the snake but I don''t have any because they pull the little hairs out at the nape of my neck (ouch!) See if you can try one on first...mabe I just have a short neck!

Nah, I think part of it is chains like any other peice of jewlery can be better or worse. I am rough on my jewlery which is why I liek my spiga chains. I have one from James Avery that has lasted me years (about 8 of never taking it off even showering) with no trouble. I bought another in a local B&M for a a pendent a friend gave me and it lasted just under 2 months of on and off wear.

ETA: I wear mine often so mabye that is why they do better...no storing required. Though I do love the jelwery boxes I have now becuase my old ones usally ended up looking like a mess.
