Hi ladies - I am going to order my dress tomorrow, and I was hoping you ladies could help me decide whether to order white or ivory. There are lots of pics of the dress and a few of the different colors in My Knot Bio

Thanks in advance for your feedback ladies!!

Where can I find that black bridemaid dress? I really like it.
BTW, I really like the Ivory, it makes you look more tan.

Ivory!

I also like the ivory, it''s softer and yes makes you look more tan, IMHO.

I honestly can''t tell the difference, so I say, which ever you like better! I wanted White all along, no questions asked.. I didn''t even try on ivory.

I am not just saying this b/c of the common opinion but you look best in Ivory w/o a doubt!

I dont know what color you should pick but way to go on your weight loss!

Ivory. Congrats on the weight loss-you look great!

Ivory, definitely, and you look fantastic!!!! Congrats on your hard-earned figure. :)

Honestly, I think you look great in either. I personally find it hard to tell the difference from the pics really... (please don''t shoot me) Besides, keep in mind all your photos are from indoors - is your wedding going to be indoors too? If it''s going to be outdoors the colors might look different.

I agree with everyone, the ivory looks great! Your knot bio is fantastic by the way and your weight loss is inspiring. Great job!

Another vote for ivory. Love your cat pics! I wish my cats would cuddle like that.

Definitely Ivory. I personally feel that VERYfew people look good in stark white.

Ivory!! It gives a warm glow to your skin tone....very flattering!

You look sooo grogeous in your dress by the way!

Ivory, it just seems to be more flattering on most. My dad actually came to the bridal shop for my 2nd fitting and he said white looked like a chefs outfit....does not make sense to me, but alas the opinion of a 50 year old man. My dress is champagne (ivory), I am fair skinned and it just looked a lot better on me.

Ivory.....definitely.

A side note: when I was shopping for my dress, one of the women who''d been working in the bridal industry told me that most causasian brides look better in ivory dresses. She noted that people who are fair-skinned or medium with pink undertones look "warmer" with ivory. White washes them out.

Ivory isn''t well suited, though, to folks with yellow or olive tones in their skin....they are better with white.

I think the ivory looks very romantic and complementary to your skin tone! (Of course both look great- lucky you!)

Love the ivory on you...and you look great!!!

I vote for ivory too!

hmm, not sure I can tell much difference either. But if I had to pick, I would go with the ivory too based on the pictures.

I think I''ve heard that warmer tone skins are best with ivory, and neutral or cool are best with white. Does that sound right?

~~I think you should go with the Ivory as well. It''s smoother and looks great with the beading!! You will be a beautiful bride! Good luck!!!

Ivory it is - I ordered it today

The ladies at the bridal shop tried to tell me this dress might be too small - my mom and my MOH said they were full of crap so I ordered the size of the sample - I''m pretty sure this was the right thing to do - what do you ladies think, I think it fits perfectly, and last time I was there the lady said it was even a little too big. Plus I''m still losing weight (25.5. lbs down so far), but I know you''re not supposed to count on that.

Help - now I''m worried!!

I posted this in your other thread.. but I''m SO GLAD you didn''t order a size bigger. That dress fits you perfectly, and even if the sample is a tad stretched out for someone who has already lost as much as you have, and is doing so well, its a pretty safe bet you''ll lose a bit more. I bet that your dress will be BIG on you by the time it comes in!

25.5 lbs is great! I was at 5lbs lost this morning.. I''m really proud of my self, even though since I got engaged I had probably gained like 10lbs, so I''m not back to where I was yet! My goal is to lose three more pounds by Labor day, that will put me back at my "starting" weight on the knot weight loss club... I don''t know exactly when I entered that weight.. but its still kinda depressing..

OK...I''m going to go totally against the consensus here for one reason....if the groom and groomsmen are going to wear white shirts with the tuxes, it will not look as nice if you have an ivory dress on. I have seen this in person and it''s something a lot of brides don''t think about. My girlfriend had an ivory dress on and didn''t even give it a second thought until they went shopping for tuxes 2 weeks before the wedding. She decided to go with white shirts for the guys (mainly because her fiance didn''t like the ivory dress shirts - he said they looked really dull) and in person the color difference was really obvious.

I did not even think of that jellybean. I can see how it might not look great though... hmmm

I used to work at a tuxedo store when I was in college and when couples were looking for tuxes the first thing we asked was what color the bride''s dress was. Most of the time it was white (or some shade of white) and that was fine with white shirts. Some ivory dresses are *really* ivory, if you know what I mean, and it didn''t look nice with the white men''s shirts. The dress shirts are *really* white (b/c they are bleached when they are cleaned) so the color difference is really obvious.

When my girlfriend ordered her bridal gown, I assumed she ordered white b/c she didn''t say "guess what, I ordered ivory" and then when it came time to get the guys'' tuxes is when the color issue first came up.

Now my friend''s dress was really ivory so the color difference was quite obvious. I don''t think people were whispering "OMG - the shirts don''t match the dress!" but I know it was something that bothered her. Others may not have a problem with it, but me personally, I didn''t like it.
