Hi everyone,

Well, I''m down to two gowns and I just can''t decide. I''m really torn... it''s driving me crazy!! I think either would be fine, but I torment myself in making these decisions. I''m afraid I''ll pick one and then be disappointed that I didn''t pick the other. Unfortunately, no pics of me in the gowns, but I did find out that the mermaid style is best on my body after trying on lots.

So here they are. Both are duchese satin in ivory with #1 being a bit darker ivory - both colors are very nice and complimentary to my skin tone. #2 has a bit more fullness and a chapel train. #1 is not as full and a sweep train. #2 is very simple with buttons all the way down the back and #1 also has buttons all the way down the back, but is a bit more edgy. If I go with #1 I would probably put a dark brown velvet ribbon around the waist to give it a bit of color/contrast.

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks!

both are gorgeous...you might have to flip a coin. Do you think that one will blend in more with atmosphere of your wedding and reception?

I love both. But i think #2 is so gorgeous. If i had the body for it, that would be my PERFECT dress. Good Luck, either way you go, your dress will be fabulous

They are both great dresses, but there is something about #2, that draws my eye. It''s stunning.

I don''t think that you can lose if you love them both.
I love dress #1, but that''s a personal decision based on the fact that I like a less full and less traditional dress.

They''re both so lovely that it would be really hard to decide, so good luck!

I love dress number 2. Who makes it? It is very similar to the dress I think I''m getting. The mermaid flatters your figure perfectly!

DANG girl!!! I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!! WOW! Go #2.. I think it looks classy and with your body... geez... "get thee behind me" baby belly..ugh!!

I vote for #2...I love the fullness on the bottom.

I like #2 way more.

It is sooo elegant. You can can any jewelry piece you want yo accessorize. (If you are on Pricescope, you appreciate gorgeous jewelry and accessories.) The first gown seems edgier. It''s your personal style and choice.

Best of luck. Both are lovely.

I love the look of mermaid gowns...So, while both are beautiful, there''s something about #2 that Itruly love.
Can you get pictures of you in the dresses or were they not allowing that?

My vote''s for #2 as well. You have a great figure for it. #1 looks a bit too much like "lingeree!", in my opinion.

I think I like #1 better.

Can you take pics of you in both so we can really see which suits you best?

I vote for #2. Looks more sophisticated and elegant/wedding gown to me. Pure simpicity.

I''m with Tybee for the exact same reasons!

They''re both beautiful, but I like dress #1 much more. It''s classic without being boring. It''s unique and breathtaking.

I like #2 the best. It is more like a wedding dress to me.

If that''s you in #2, then I like that one better!!! I love the trumpet skirts!

Definitely #2

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and opinions! I really appreciate it!

I still haven''t decided yet. We''re having a destination wedding in Colorado in a small chapel and an elegant dinner party for 15 - 20 people afterwards. Then we''re going to have a larger reception back home... probably downtown chicago where we live. That''s why I thought #1 would be a great dress since I''m going to wear the dress again for at least part of the reception... it''s not too bridal looking. But I dunno... I really like #2 as well. Ahhhhh.... I''m going to drive myself crazy!!

Thanks again for all your opinions!

Well, you really can't go wrong with either. However, I prefer #1 because I've seen #2 several times in Knot.com profiles. It's your very basic mermaid style wedding gown.

I've never seen #1, and it knocked me out. Still very classic, yet unique. Amazing.

I know I've already given my opinion, but I thought I'd expound on it a little bit.

Thanks Ebree! That was my concern as well... I''ve seen the dress before in various knot bios. I kinda like to be a little different, but not too different.

If I hadn''t seen that dress before I would probably not think twice and get #2. I was originally going for the Carolyn Bessette Kennedy look - simple, classic, elegant.

Awwww... your pug is soooo cute!

Yeah, I think I''m going to have to go with #1 as well - it''s just as gorgeous (actually a little more in my opinion!) but the main thing that pushes my preference that direction is that it''s so unique! I think that a lot of people''s concerns about it not looking "wedding"-y enough are just because in the runway picture it looks so edgy and runway-like...but I bet on you it will still look VERY bridal, plus you''ll get to know you''re the only one with it!

Although of course, I adore #2 as well....

Portia,
I''d love to see #1 on you.
I was originally going for the Caroline Basset Kennedy look too, no wonder I liked 1 better than 2.
How did they look on you?

Definitely go for number 2- the first one, I agree with previous poster, looks a lot like lingerie...good luck and let us know what your final decision is....

Hi Tybee,

I think they both looked equally good on me (I have a similar figure to the girl in the #2 pic). I tend to soften anything I wear if that makes sense so I was worried that the #2 dress would look really plain on me. I guess it''s really a decision of whether I go traditional or a bit non-traditional. I decided that if I do get #2 I will wear a chocolate brown or black velvet ribbon around the waist (a la Coco Chanel). I tried it when I had the dress on and it was really cute.

I''m going to see if I can go in to take pics of me in the dresses. They''re at two different stores. It''ll be my 3rd visit so I hope they''re ok with it.

I like number 2 as well but with your cute figure, I dont think you can go wrong either way!!

Good Luck!!!

I vote for #2!!! They are both gorgeous though, and you cannot go wrong with either one!

P.S. Your kitty is adorable!!!

They are both very beautiful, but I vote for number 2. It seems a bit more form fitting and really accentuates your figure.
