I came across this site while trying to find a particular style wedding ring for my fiance. Below is a link to a picture of her engagement ring. I found the wedding ring at one point but it was in w. gold not platinum. The jeweler is saying the artist who made the wedding ring, he believes the name is John Jacob, has gone out of business. I'm not real comfortable with my trust level of the jeweler though because he was awful quick to offer the 1 of a kind custom remake at the one of a kind custom remake price. The wedding band had similar baquettes and pave set diamonds as the engagement ring. It was thinner than the engagement ring and had apprx .50 total diamond carat weight. Most importantly the pave set area on the top and bottom of the wedding ring was very similar to the engagement ring. Because both rings slope slightly you could see all the detail of both when worn, sort of a "v".

Has anyone heard of a jewelry artist named John Jacob? Can anyone point me in the direction of rings that may be similiar to the description above? The engagement ring maker, Simon G, doesn't seem to have anything similar.

Thanks for the help

I couldn't get the picture to come up. Are you sure that is the right link?

I changed the link above. Please try now and thanks for the heads up.

Any thoughts yet?

Thanks

Todd

That is a very pretty ring.

Most of the jewelers i've talked to, they all seem to be willing to make ANY ring style you want. I drew up my own design after being tired of looking at thousands of them and none of them jumped out at me.

Try take that pic of the ring and show it to jewelers and see if any of them can and will make it for you. Be as specific as you can with them.

Firerock,

I tried the custom thing but was hoping I could find something off the shelf and keep the cost reasonable. Thanks for the advice, maybe I''ll try another jeweler and see what they can do.

Well, "off the shelf" usually means from a designer line and that''s definitely not less expensive than custom work. Unfortunately, the model down that link lookd intricate (channel and pave set, millgrain, basket and shank made in one piece, I think...) so no matter who does it, the cost of it is not going to be low.

It may be feasible to find something close by another maker though... did you chack www.weddingband.com ? They list a few dozen designer lines. And there are more, of course.
