Hello. I am new to the community. I hope this is the right spot for this post. We would like to find out as much as we can about this engagement ring (pics attached). It is (SI&HI) 14k gold and has a clear hallmark. The jeweler said it was 1/3 carat diamonds. We are hoping to find out how old it may be, where it was made or by whom. Thanks in advance.received_304459773536899.jpeg received_377907106108180.jpeg received_593256984469179.jpeg

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Please may I ask what 'SI&HI' is?

I am certainly not an expert, but the font used in the 14K does not look very old to me, which makes me think the ring must be quite recent (2000-onwards, perhaps??).

The other part could be the maker's mark, but if every shop that makes rings has their own mark, and as there is no central register of them, I don't think it will be easy or perhaps even possible to find out.

You could perhaps show pictures to other jewellery stores in the area / state, to see if anyone recognizes it?

The form of the mark looks to be Hebrew or another middle-eastern text, perhaps?

Are you looking to purchase the ring? Or are you looking to sell it?

With 1/3ctw of diamonds, made up of smaller stones, and 14k gold, it should not be vastly expensive to purchase.

@OoohShiny -

Obviously I can't know for sure, but I'm guessing H/I color and SI 1/2 clarity. meaning the stones were graded as part of a group, or melee. Which makes sense, given the overall size.

ETA I'm guessing the 4 larger inner stones are about 4 points each, and the stones in the surrounds are roughly a half pt each.

I agree with @OoohShiny. The ring looks modern in style and the diamonds are modern round brilliants. If I had to guess, I’d say it was made in the last 20 years and it shouldn’t be very expensive. As for the maker’s mark, it won’t be easy identifying it.

Yea I meant the ring contains both SI and HI diamonds, according to the second hand jeweler I got it from. I read about this. Basically interpreting that SI are lesser quality than HI, and while not the highest quality, HI are relatively clear/colorless/brilliant. All the stones look clear and beautiful to us. She loves the ring. We were just wondering if we could find out more. Wondering how good of a deal I got. I paid $200 for it. I feel like I paid considerably less than it's original owner, who likely bought it from a jeweler with a very high mark-up. I don't really need valuation, but would love to hear that I did well on the deal. I thought the maker's mark may reveal info to me. Thanks

Yes, It's a nice ring, and you did well at $200!
