Please help with gemstone ID for green stone!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to identify the green gemstone in this ring. It is set in solid 14K yellow gold. The gemstone looks like glass, but I don't think it could be because my diamond tester measured its hardness at level 4 (when starting at level 2 based on its size). I included photos taken indoors and outdoors because I thought it's interesting that the gemstone becomes much more vibrant in natural lighting. I would really appreciate any input on what this stone may be!

At first I thought quartz, then I saw the outside photos where the color got all neon and now, I have no idea.

I will say that the setting is amazing!

Could it be synthetic spinel? Or fancy glass? I would guess something manmade. It's very cool looking.

I have several stones that are the same material. Uranium glass. The glow in different light is amazing!

It is uranium! I put it under UV light and it became fluorescent. It does look like spinel though. Thanks for the help everyone!

It’s synthetic spinel. I have one myself. Really pretty, it’s like uranium glass and glows amazingly under UV light.
I have a Presidum amd it registers as Spinel, not glass which is great because it won’t “scratch up” easily.
