Hi All,

Need some help with my centerpieces. I''m just not loving it... maybe it''s missing something? We''re getting rid of the hanging pieces (I didn''t ask for that, but maybe she just wanted to show me what it would look like). I originally wanted orchids with curly willow and was open to other flower types. I asked for plum tones, but it ended up purple & pink. Unfortunately, she had to order the flowers today. What do you all think? Could we add some other flowers to it? Does it need some green? Any suggestions? Also, what about the small vases at the bottom... should we get rid of them or just do 3 with mixed orchids?

The centerpieces are for our reception on the 29th... we got married on the 7th in Colorado. The florist I had in CO really understood what I wanted. I asked for plum callas and orchids and that''s exactly what she delivered with her own creative spin on it which looked beautiful and perfect for the mountain setting.

Any advice you all could give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Here was my bouquet for the wedding in Telluride... these are the colors I really love!

I like your centerpieces! I like the three little vase thingies there around the curly willow vase too. How about moving the hanging ribbons so they fall from the lip of the vase and not from the branches? You would have to make the ribbons shorter of course. and your bouquet is lovely.

I think they look great! I would dump the hangy thingies but otehr than that they're lovely. Did you supply this florist with a pic of the previous ones?

Thanks magpye,

I may get rid of the ribbons, but that''s a good option you suggested. When I sat at the table, it seemed to me that the ribbons would get in the way of people having conversations across the table... guess I''m not sure yet what to do.

I noticed that my bouquet looks more red/burgundy in the photo, but it was actually plum, pink with little purple flowers. Do you ever notice that photos don''t seem to pick up flowers true color. Kind of like my frustrations photographing my ering.

Sweetpea,

No, I didn''t show her and now I''m afraid it''s too late since she ordered the flowers today. But I guess it couldn''t hurt to show her the pic tomorrow morning and see if she can change it or add something to it. I came home from our destination wedding, had two days to catch up on work, unpack and repack for my another trip (last weekend). And now, of course, I''m doing things at the last minute... geez, will I ever learn? :-)

Maybe you should just leave them, then, sans ribbons. I mean, I think they are beautiful and if you''re really busy anyways, and you like them just fine the way they are, even though they werent what you had in mind, maybe you should just leave them?

DW???? How cool is that!?!? Congrats, btw!!

no matter what you decide i''m sure it will look fabulous. you just can''t go wrong with orchids

no point in sweating the small stuff, right? Congrats on being married! Woo hoo!

Thanks, sweetpea! I think I''ll take your advice and get rid of the ribbons and then let them be. :)

The DW was great even though it rained on our wedding day (and most of the week), but was still fun.
