My hummingbirds have finally returned and this is the first male that has ever actually stopped at the feeder that I've seen. He's a juvenile so his throat hasn't turned red yet, but I can tell he's a male because his head is black. And If you catch the light just right you can see hints of the ruby throat just starting, but I couldn't capture it. Hopefully I'll be able to photo him before he leaves. The ladies seem to stick around a lot longer.

Bringing the outdoors in with these lilacs from my garden..

they are beautiful. mine aren't even close to blooming yet.

I think this is an adult male. Wonder if he's the dad? I actually think the males don't stick around with the family so doubtful. Look at those little feet! They are so cute :kiss2:

You take great pictures, as always.

Wooly Bird’s Nest Fungus (I think - as identified by Seek app) growing on a twig. Next photo - as it appears in nature: tiny mysterious rings emerging from the ground. Last photo: Nail head or Devil’s Matchstick fungus. Photos taken on South Kelsey Trail, Smith River, CA.

Oops - I meant to post this above. Here’s a Wooly Bird’s Nest fungus on a stick. They seem to always grow with the little cups pointing up, so they appear as little white rings sitting in the duff. They’re 1/2 in in diameter at most.

A few of the wild peacock families in my neighborhood have had chicks lately! Soooo cute!

I had no idea there were wild peacocks!

Our friendy chipmunk has gotten braver-- here she was yesterday on my daughter's lap.
I guess those almonds are just too tasty to resist!

Mine have been around the last few days as well, so cute

Saw this guy outside today, neatest thing is that it looks like an owl from the underside.

So outside one side of our house was kinda ok
some blue shy, bright with non- threatening high white cloud
This isn't the best picture, looking out our guest room window 20220609_100256.jpg

This itty bitty jumping spider has been living among my potted plants for the last two weeks. It walks around on the table, too. It's so much fun to watch! It only measures about 4mm across, so it's quite small.
It springs about 2 inches when it jumps!
It no longer runs from me, so I think it is tolerating me at this point!
And he/she is so amusing! I keep trying to get a good photo, but it's hard to do.
Here it is doing flips on on the lamp cord.

Fresh out of the chrysalis butterfly I found in the yard this week. It's some type of swallowtail but I don't know which type. It took about 30 minutes from the time I saw it for its wings to totally dry and I don't know how long it was there prior to me spotting it.
