PLEASE Show me your cushion/radiant ring!!!

Hi everyone, I have settled on a cushion for my ring! Very excited, details are below! I think I have settled on a white gold solitaire setting, its 2.2 mm at the widest point and tapers toward the diamond to about 1.2 mm. I've attached stock photos of the setting from JA. I'm a size 5.5 ring, hoping all you cushion owners can post rings for me to look at while I wait, dimensions of the stone/ ***LtoW ratio*** and finger size would be appreciated!!!

Hey gv7. My 10 yr anniversary set is a radiant - but has the crushed ice kinda look, not the chunky facet look that is popular nowadays.
I believe the center is 9.97 x 7.89 x ??? (was already set in the ring)
Size 6.25, unplated 18K wg (I'm sorry, I don't know how to figure out the ratio )

Beautiful! just divide length by width to get ratio - yours is just over 1.26 based on those measurements. Its perfect with the side stones! Thanks for sharing!

My cushion has a 1.12 ratio. I have a 4.5 ring size. I can't wait to see your beauty! I always thought if it were slightly more rectangular, I wouldn't get the occasional question as to whether it were a princess cut! (Not that I mind talking about my ring or diamonds in any event).

iota15, I LOVE your ring. I do believe that is the same JA setting which confirms that it is the perfect setting for my ring, I love it, looks even better in your "real life" photo. The link you posted does not work for me - do you mind terribly sharing the size of your stone for reference? Your ring is perfection!!

Hey iota15 I have officially stalked your previous posts and found the info I was looking for! My stone is a little smaller and more rectangular than yours but I compared yours to mine on http://www.diamdb.com/ (they have this fantastic diamond visualizer that I can't stop using) I am still quite happy with what I've chosen even compared to your gigantic (in my opinion) rock!

Your post on the claw prongs vs bead prongs has me worried now! It's true, the stock photos look like claw - which is in part why I like the setting so much, but they seem to vary in the actual photos of rings purchased. It does look like they are more "claw-like" in the photos of cushions and the bigger stones. More bead like in the princess pics. I think the ring might already be on it's way and I have promised to stop asking questions. I'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps a local jeweler could adjust them slightly if it's a problem for me - however I'm thinking I won't mind either way. All these giant close ups make me think every tiny detail is super visible, but in real life that's not really the case. Wish me luck!

I'm glad you found my old posts. These pictures really do blow up every last detail, but I did think the claw prongs on this setting were well made. Your stone is certainly big enough to merit claws. It's very close in size to mine.

If you can, put the PS away for a bit too. Because these photographs are so big, they do exaggerate how large you may feel it "should" look on the finger. I know I had DSS for a while, but I also found that settled and passed as I wore the ring in the non-PS world for a while. 1.5 carat is a fantastic size, and you seemed to have found one with great measurements. I did hundreds of length and width, and face up size calculations too when I was searching. haha. Your 1.5 will blow people away in real life.

Thanks iota15! You're right, browsing ps could easily make a lot of people think their ring is small , lots of giant rocks floating around! Most girls I know have something closer to the 1 carat size, and that's what I had in mind, when we were trying on rings while on vacation and he had no issues with the price of a 1.5 I was shocked, but quickly decided I'd let him go for it I feel like I'm being spoiled big time! I know not all would agree but for me personally I never dreamed of having a ring like this and it is such a treat. I think the fact that his only concern was me getting what I want is much more meaningful than the ring itself.
