Please Show Me Your Emeralds

DW's latest acquisition is a 4.5ct Columbian emerald, bezel set with diamonds in 18K yellow gold:

Interestingly the AGL report giving insignificant to minor traditional oil also includes the statement "This emerald contains fissures which at the time of testing were only partially filled." Haven't seen this one before!

The piece is likely between 20 to fifty years old, and it would appear the stone has never been re-oiled, and some of the original oil has evaporated. The bezel setting is going to make a re-oil rather difficult, for sure a cleaning using hydrochloric acid is not going to happen! :eek-2:

Beautiful setting and glowy emerald! She needs to come out more.
 
None of the emeralds in DW's newly acquired bracelet would win any prizes, but all together they do provide a rather nice splash of green.

New emerald-in-matrix specimen arrived recently. It's from the Panjshir Valley, Afghanistan:

The crystals in the centre of that main group are an amazing vivid, deep, saturated colour, but there is colour variation amongst the crystals. A couple have more-or-less colourless areas. The photo really doesn't do this specimen justice.

Dimensions of the specimen is approx 6cm by 3.5 cm by 3 cm, and the crystals are just a few mm in length. They really stand out though, even from a distance, because of their colour!
 
My new dark 1.08cts green emerald from JR Colombian Emeralds. It is hard to show the color right, but here is some photos and video ). In real life it is a deep blue green color and glow that is hard to capture :).

Gorgeous, love emeralds! Did you design the setting? It's so unique. The video is private can you update it so we can see =)
 
Hi. Here is the video again the emerald has more blue green tone to it, but my camera and video seems to make the green more yellow for some reason lol. It was one of their settings they had as a ring, but the original ring had a lighter color emerald in it, so I picked an upgraded emerald and they made it from CADS.

Emerald is so mesmerizing and majestic, especially under low light.

I didn't know they could do that. We have this bracelet and a bezel set emerald that would definitely benefit from re-oiling.

Another photo which shows the color intensity and brightness better, but still have a hard time capturing the blue-green and makes it seem more yellow-green

@emeraldgalB Thank you! The Victorian ring is 18k with scrollwork along the shank and tiny prongs to hold all the stones. Fun and comfy piece to wear!
 
What IS it about green stones? They make me happy just looking at pics of them!!!

absolutely infatuated with your dear wife's pendant!! i love everything about it! I love the mixed step cut surround. I love the airline gap. I love the orientation. I love the bezeling, throughout. And i love the darling bail!! This piece is very inspiring to me!!
