So I was thinking of including, and actually wrote, a poem with all the info people need...registry and that sort of thing...appropriate dress, etc...I wrote a poem tonight and was thinking about including it in the invites. I'm actually pretty happy with it. What do you guys think?
A Silly Poem About the Wedding
(aka, the other stuff you need to know)
Well, as you can see, LL and FI are getting married.
The wedding will be casual, fun, and not at all harried.
We thought about the folks we'd want to have near,
And you are among the ones we hold dear.
We hope you can celebrate this happy day with us.
It'll be about saying I do, and love, with no fuss.
The wedding will be in XXXX and XXXXX lovely backyard.
There will be parking near by and the walk won't be far.
The BBQ will start after the ceremony's done
The good eats will be plentiful and then it's time for the fun!
There will be tables and linens, plates, knives and forks too.
Even some dancing, with songs chosen by you.
We'll have mac 'n cheese, greens, BBQ and baked beans.
And our veggie friends will have plenty that's sure to taste keen.
You may be stressing about what you should wear.
Wear what you want – this wedding's a casual affair!
The bride and groom won't quite be dressed to the nines
(The bride WILL wear a dress, she'll only get married one time).
Children are welcome, we want everyone merry.
And our "children" will be there, though they are a bit hairy.
You'll notice no registry -- we've got plenty of stuff.
And truly your presence is present enough.
We hope you can make it, we can't wait for the day.
