These are my top contenders that I emailed my bf, and I'm wondering which one you guys like best?
It might help me to figure out which one I should push for, and which one his sister might favor. (oy) Besides, I'm procrastinating and it's fun!

Hi Indie.

I liked #3 the best, but my second choice is #1. And I like those 2 far and beyond and of the other choices -- but of course that''s just my personal taste, which may be completely different than yours.
2.gif

I want your personal choice. Although if you think the ring would not work as well if one were to wear it 24/7, I''d appreciate it if you brought that to my attention.
9.gif

I wonder if he''ll choose the bezel-set simply because it''d be more comfortable for him at night.
31.gif

I voted #1 .. which I think was your original fave too if I''m remembering right? I also adore #3 .... and the look of #2 (though I think that might give you "catching" problems like I had with my original "pointy" prongs).

The others: pretty but not my fave styles.

Oh, I should also mention that I''ll be emailing the final numbers to my bf. I''d rather he take your advice over his sister''s. *shudder*

One, all the way.

Hands down, #1!!!! The 3rd was nice, but the prongs? Are those fishtail ones? I''m afraid it''d get caught on things too easily.. #1 is delicate yet it''s perect!

Sorry, I meant the ''prongs'' on #2

#1!!!! It''s just so "you"!!!! Ok, I''ll admit having not ever met you in person... but from what I can tell online, that''s YOUR ring. #2 is my second fave, but I don''t think it''s practical for 24-7 wear.

~~I like #1, and then #4...

Of all the rings, and I''m a hardcore ''solitare in a basic tiffany setting'' kinda girl, I''d say that #1 is the prettiest, hands down. The proportions, shape, and overall lines of #1 are so lovely.

The ring is delicate, feminine, and breaktaking. Two thumbs up!

Hands down I prefer #1. I would be somewhat troubled if he ends up going with the ring his SISTER likes the best instead of the one YOU said you like the best. It''s your ring, after all. However, if you just gave him a couple to choose from, I hope you don''t have a favorite among them or you could be disappointed. If you do have a favorite, you should really tell him so.

There''s no telling which she could sway him to. Some people like dainty rings, some people like 3 stone rings, etc. I hope you get what you want!

#1!!!!! So delicate and pretty. But the last 3 are VERY different looks than the first 3. We''re talking night and day -- antique and modern. Are you sure you''d be OK with any of them, or do you have any leanings one way or another?

I vote number 1 and number 3. Number 3 is my favorite, but the stone is smaller. Is is possible to switch it out and put a .6 in there? If so, than that would be my favorite.

I would have chosen #4 for myself, but I think #1 suits you best!
9.gif

I like one followed by four.

Definitely # 1. I love OEC''s!!!!

I voted for #2 but I was torn between it and #1, so I thought I''d throw in my comments that #1 would be great too. In fact, I like them in pretty much the order you put them. Definitely like the first 3 more than the last few; I am not a big fan of bezel set.

#4 would suit *me* best, but I just can''t help but think that #1 is YOUR ring. You and your online personality just seem to fit it! They are all beautiful, though, can''t go wrong with any of ''em.

Ok I love #4 for ME. SO I didn''t vote on it. I think for YOU I would go with 1 or 3 and I like 3 far better so that won my vote.

Oh, I just *love* number two! I think they''re all pretty, but two has something special about it. Very unlike anything I''ve seen before. It''s delicate and full of prettiness!

Which do YOU prefer?

*wail* I don''t know! And it doesn''t matter anyway since he didn''t want me to pick a specific ring. Although that might have been before he took a real look, I''m betting they all look the same to him at this point.
31.gif

The only one I''ve tried on has been a version of #4 in both .5 and .75 tcw, and they both looked terrific on my hand. The .5 might have actually looked a bit better! It looked so good that if he''d been there I''d have been ecstatic walking out the store with it even if it was from a family owned mall B&M with no cut info. I like smaller modern diamonds.
5.gif

I''ve also tried on a couple of OEC''s and spent the weekend with someone who has one, and I really like them. Far better than rb diamonds of the same size. And the original of #1 is something I''ve admired since I signed up on PS.

Both styles look good on me, and I have both styles in my life. I tend to wear more modern sleek clothes, like I''m addicted to the black Chico''s urban and travelers'' pants. But my house is a restored arts & crafts ''bungalow'' built in 1918, complete with period light fixtures and trim.

I really would be very happy with any of these rings. Although my finger is no longer so fond of the idea of a 4mm band which lowers the bezel-set rings in the rankings.

Anyway, I want your opinions on which ring you like best.
9.gif

Haha IndieJones. Okay, okay. I like 2. And I like 1. But I really like 1. But I am not a totally practical person, and I don''t know anything about prongs, so I don''t know anything about the safety of the stone in that setting. But gah, it''s pretty!

What is an OEC?

OEC = old European cut
OMC = old miners cut
and there is a rose cut

All much older and dated diamond cuts but they can be just gorgeous! If you look at some of the antique sites you can get a good idea of what they look like. I think the first three of indie''s rings have an OEC in them.

Hmmmmmm. Tough call. I like 1 and 3 the best. At first I was going to say 3 but I don''t adore the flat-ish prongs....but otherwise that''s my 1st choice. You''ve got three distinct styles here. The two etoile-ish ones are lovely, but very sleek and modern. The 3-stone (trellis? not sure what to call the setting style) is also gorgeous, but since I am personally drawn to more antique-y stuff, I''d go 3,1,2 in that order.

GOOD LUCK!!!

This is like watching a horse race. Can''t you hear the commentator?

Thought I''d add in some side views of the antiques:

I do worry about the prongs on #2 catching on things. the middle prongs don''t look like they''re all touching the diamond. I like the flatter prongs on #3.
We all know that dscassi''s workmanship is excellent, but I''ve heard mixed reviews on aer.com''s replicas. But the details look pretty good on all three I think.

Feel free to vote for two if you have trouble deciding.

#1 hands down!
9.gif

I love #1 and #6 (don't think there are any "spoken" votes for this one yet!). I love the antique look with the small sapphires, but I also love, love love the modern, classic look of the Etoile. The *only* problem I'd have with the antique settings is the question of sturdiness. They look so delicate, and I'm a 24/7 e-ring wearer (I even wear it when I sleep!) and bit of a klutz, as well. Of course, how the ring wears is up to you and your klutz level/how much you wear it.
9.gif

My clutz level is pretty high.
40.gif
Mainly due to the fact that my attention is rarely entirely focused on physical reality.
It's the main reason the etoile style has stayed in the running.
9.gif
Well, that and it's the best looking of the Tiffany rings on my hand.
31.gif
(I'd forgotten I tried it on). Although the 3-stone might have looked better, or at least blingy-er.

ETA: I've never actually damaged a ring, and they're my favorite type of jewelry.

I love both number 1 and number 3. I voted for number 1 without first scrolling down to view the profile shots -- now i think #3 would be my choice. absolutely gorgeous!!!
