I really want smooth looking skin and while I've achieved it on the rest of my face, my huge nose goes and screws it all up. I have oily skin and while it helps keep the wrinkles away, what it does not do is make for small pores.

I need tips on how to make them smaller. I exfoliate everyday. I rotate between just a plain scrub, a scrub with benzoyl peroxide, a scrub with salicyclic acid and one with mint, tea tree and eucalyptus oils. This routine keeps me blemish free and my skin doesn't dry out, but does nothing to help my pores.

Any tips or tricks?

No make up for this guy either 8-)

have you tried mud masks?

I have exactly the same problem - nose pores! But the rest of my face is fine. I usually don't use anything but moisturizer.. I only apply on my nose, as they really dry out the rest of my skin, but they work wonders where needed - even if I have to spend an hour looking like a koala ::)

I've heard good things about Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, but haven't been able to find any. Supposedly available in drugstores, etc. It's very inexpensive though and I've seen really good reviews!

oil blotting papers. you can get ones that dont have powder.

I bought these flat pear shaped face sponges from Walmart. They're white and a bit rough. I use neutrogena with them and they've done wonders for my nose pores! Also, don't forget to moisturize!

You can find the Queen Helene masks at Ulta.

Scrubs or other types of physical exfoliation seem to make my pores appear larger. What has totally changed my complexion are photofacials once a year and using Retin-a Micro gel once or twice a week. When I first started using the Retin-a gel, my skin got really dry. Once I got past the first month, it's been wonderful. I've used it for over ten years now. For me, the fewer products I use, the better my skin looks and feels. Less is more.

You know those pore strips that yank the guck out of your face? Using those every couple of weeks helps me with my pores: other than that, I stick to triple milled soap, and things seem to go pretty well.

Those things are great.

You might want to consider using an overnight treatment instead of the scrub. (I use Murad T-Zone Refining Gel.) Also, sun damage can make your pores bigger, so I think it's worth investing in a good SPF.

The clarisonic has been working really well in slowly reducing the number of blackheads on my nose---It was a disaster using it 2X a day with the normal brush head, but since I switched over to only at night with the delicate head, i've seen great improvement in my skin-- especially the nose pores.

Thanks all for the suggestions! Those pore strips clean them out, but do nothing to make them smaller :(

I guess it's off to Ulta to see what they've got and suggest.

I'll even get those flat pear shaped sponges Sparkly and used them too.

Let's see how much off face I can scrub off hahahahah
