my gf and i may have found our 1st dance song... its a fairly new song but the lyrics are nice as is the song.. it appeals more to us since im 25 and she is 23 so we arent old.. let me know what you think.. we may just have it in our playlist during the wedding but right now this could be it!!!

It''s a great song, I hear it all the time on the chicago stations and XM and Sirious. However...will it be a song that will appeal to you years from now? Will it be a song that everyone at your reception will be into? It seems like a really "trendy" song...I like it and if you want to use it during your reception it''s great...but I would hesitate to make something SO trendy my first dance song... Have you thought about dancing to something super classic, like Etta James or the like?

I also think it''s a very "in" song right now and it probably won''t be around in a few years. If that doesn''t bother you and you like his music, go for it. I''m not really a fan so it''s not something I''d choose, but it''s also not my wedding. I want to include a lot of jazz standards and timeless songs/artists at my wedding, and that might not be everything''s thing. To each his/own I suppose.

Again, if you and your girlfriend love the song, why not use it. I''d just make sure the lack of a timeless factor doesn''t bother either one of you.

i don''t imagine "with you" to be much of a first dance song.. but that''s just my opinion.

I say go for it! If it''s special to you guys and you still like it when it''s closer to the time you get married, then I think you have a unique 1st dance.

Haha yep! But it''s slow and romantic and it''s the first song that made him think of me before we got together. I like unusual songs for dancing.

2. The beat is totally off for a first-dance song. Ad trying to dance ''slow-style'' to a semi-upbeat song will look totally wrong.

3. I know you love the song now and it feels right...but in 20 years you will not feel the same way.

Instead.....

why don''t you use the Chris Brown song for when you and your fiance walk into your reception. That would be really nice. Or for when you cut your cake....or remove garters/toss bouquets. Or....it could be the opening song to invite guests out on the dance floor.

I''d definitely keep it in the playlist, nothing wrong with contemporary music in a playlist unless you''re having some ultra formal wedding or something.

I totally agree. But then as others have said, if you and your gf love it, that''s what matters. If you don''t use it for first dance, then definitely add it to the playlist.
