For those of you who did postcard RSVPs, where did you get them done and were you able to customize colors and layout, etc?

I don''t want a plain white one if I can avoid it because our invitations will be so colorful.

Also, what type of design did you have on the front of the postcard, or was it text only?

I love the idea of doing the postcards and saving on stamps(!) but I am worried about having to relinquish control and settling for something I am not 100% happy with.

Has anyone bought a kit or printed postcards at home or at a kinkos? Are there any other options out there that I am missing?

Thanks for your help! You ladies have been my savior- not to mention my source of all things informative wedding related!!

I should have a thread on my invitations. I did a postcard RSVP and it worked out *great*. Not only saved on postage but saved on having an extra envelope w/ return address printing. My invites were DIY and should have details int he thread.

I found your thread and WHOA are those some gorgeous invitations!! Was it hard to do the rivet at the top to hold it all together?

I like your idea of having a local print shop perforate the postcards. Hopefully that is something Kinkos can do and do inexpensively!!

Nice going! You must be a very crafty person to have put all that together DIY style!

Now off to the drawing board...

We''re having our invitations done by the same person who did my sister''s. I believe she did a postcard reply. Her name is Shelley, and her website is www.albertinepress.com. She owns her own printing presses, and her work can now be found in a number of states. She''s fabulous!

Thanks Zoe!

Ahh, thanks! I think they turned out well also. I am a graphic designer by trade so I did all the printed material (including my STDs) myself. I had a local print shop print the return address on my thank you note envelopes and invite envelopes. Also they did the perforation (sp?) for our postcard. I printed the rest on my work printer (Xerox Phaser). I bought the paper pre-cut (b/c I am lazy

) My DH actually did the grommets and he is NOT crafty at all! So they are easy to do. I like more modern things so it seemed like a perfect solution to bind them. I would really stay away from Kinko''s. I find them overpriced and very unhelpful.
