I have read through a bunch of postings on this site and have learned a ton. But, I am still confused. Here is my situation... I have always wanted a radiant cut stone set in a thin pave band. But, I recently found out that my family is passing down a beautiful and sentimental heirloom to me - a 2+ carat round diamond. So now I have a dilemna. I am extremely excited about the stone but since I am not going to have a radiant cut diamond, I am thinking that I could get my eternity wedding band made with either radiant or princess cut stones. I know I am jumping the gun but I feel like this is a consideration before I set the engagement ring.

So, I was wondering if anyone has seen an engagement ring with small princess or radiant cut stones set in an eternity band style similar to the the prong setting with small round stones that I have seen on this site? I figured if this is possible, then it would match an eternity wedding band in that style.

Otherwise, would it be inappropriate to get the diamond set in a pave eternity band and still get a princess or radiant wedding band?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think a radiant eternity band sounds just gorgeous and actually I was lusting over one from SIGNED PIECES. Their rings are just beautiful. You are very lucky to be getting the 2+ ct round especially since it''s an heirloom. BTW, Signed Pieces also has princess eternity bands.

Please be sure to show us your ring(s) once their done. Good luck.

Precisionset.com has some beautiful princess channel set eternity style e-ring/wedding bands for round center stones on their site. But I can''t remember seeing any prong set princess or radiant e-rings anywhere. Maybe someone else has?

Don''t forget these from Precision Set:

I think mixing shapes of diamonds is a great way to make a unique look for yourself.
I like the idea of a round center ering with a radiant or princess eternity band.

Ivy - Thanks for the advice. Those eternity bands are beautiful!

Fuffi and Sevens One - Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely prefer prong set over channel set.

I guess I just need to go to a jeweler and check out the possibility of having a setting custom made. If you come across any other pictures, please post.

A few others already posted the images I was thinking of, from Signed Pieces, with princess eternity and radiant eternity....

In terms of an engagement ring setting, I wuold seriously think about having it custom made...it isn''t that expensive, as compared to some of the designer pieces...you can have exactly what you want, and then you have a unique piece as well!

You could also have your wedding ring made to match your e-ring so it''s like a set, similar to what I did with mine.

WF did my wedding ring and I wish they had done my e-ring, the w-ring is much more ''polished'' than my e-ring, next time I upgrade the center stone I may have them see what they can do with the e-ring setting to streamline it a bit.

I also don''t think it would be bad to mix and match a few styles...oh and also check out the Daniel K asscher settings, YUMMY!
