Pristine Gemstone Jewelry - sapphire ring!

This ring is a few years old now but I thought I might post it now (COVID and free time ha!).

A few years ago I was looking for an alternative engagement ring. We were saving for a house etc and didn't feel right spending all that money on a diamond (how wrong I was!). I chose an asscher cut pale blue Ceylon sapphire (1.43cts 6.6. x 6.2mm). I absolutely adore step cuts! I designed the ring with Andrea who was ever so helpful!

To be honest even after the 5 or 6 years of having it, I love the setting so much. I have been tempted to replace the sapphire with a diamond but couldn't bring myself to do it.

It is also sad to hear the Rogerio and Andrea are slowing down their business and transitioning to retirement.

Thank you so much! I should have got it cleaned first and my nails done too for that matter. But it does still sparkle and the white gold hasn't needed replating yet. I do love it so much!

Thank you Penny. I do love the lighter coloured sapphires (the dark ones I feel are too mature) also it does bring out the asscher cut more too. I love everything about the setting from the bezel to the milgrain.
I do love coloured stones but I do love diamonds too. If only I had a choice. Will be getting a diamond later this year so I will see which one I like wearing more.

Oh Snow White, that is the biggest compliment ever! That you'd buy my ring! I agree with everything you said about the ring and that's the reason why I chose it as well. The light blue colour brings out the cut. The halo down to the mm is delicate yet sturdy enough (I am hard on my rings). Just the simple details that make it different. I am really happy that you appreciate my ring as much as I do.

I do really love the light baby blue colour. But like you I also appreciate the other blue shades that sapphires come in. Although next on my list would be a red gemstone. Then we can revisit the cornflower blue sapphire! Your sapphire ring is gorgeous!

Leslie, I saw your lighter round sapphire with the platinum halo. I actually really like the lighter sapphires that people aren't used to seeing. All we get here in Australia at the B&M stores are those super dark almost black sapphires and I don't find them appealing at all.

Thank you so much! It can be darker or lighter depending on the lighting. I just noticed that I am currently quite tanned which makes the sapphire even lighter?
