Did anyone else see this? A short but fun (well at least for me) article. I sent the link to my boyfriend and he said, "LOL, so now you want an engagement ring and a promise ring?"

I replied, "No, that''s just to let you know that I''m not the only one. It''s becoming more and more accepted, a trend even, for the woman and the man to pick out the engagement ring together."

Any article that says we should get TWO rings is okay by me.

Lmao at Moon River!!! I like that thought too! I think I''m too close to asking for two rings (and I can''t open that link from work), but the rest of you should go for it!

I like this idea, you can have the best of both worlds then a suprise engagement and picking out your ring but not having to be engaged without a ring. If my boyfriend knew about this he probably would have done it, I think he would have liked to suprise me but I am too picky to be suprised.

LOL moonriver!

Interesting article. I think most people I know who were recently engaged did not go the promise ring route, though. They went shopping around together before the big purchase was made, rather than shelling out for two rings. BF and I went to a few B&M stores during late winter and then I told him he was on his own with the information we picked up. I don''t know whether he went with/will be going with a B&M store or online for the actual purchase.

I''d gladly take one right now just to have a ring to wear!

What''s this business of *one* month''s salary?????
Don''t let my BF see it

ive never heard of giving a "promise ring" and then getting an engagement ring after, i wonder WHERE this tradition is on the rise??

by the way the ring in that picture from the article is...well, it didnt look like the bride got any say in picking it out ;) (thats a personal opinion, i hope i didnt offend anyone who might have one like that, i dont think ive seen any hand pics like that one on this website so i think im safe...)
