Om my gosh - her hair is getting so dark and beautiful Tac, she looks just like you!!!

Puffy, your son is adorable, I love his Hawaiian shirt!! What a cutie pie!!!!

Hi Mommies- I''m gonna cut/paste my post from the pregnancy thread- I am trying to make the switch but still stradding both threads:) Old habits die hard and it is still a little hard for me to believe that I am taking a baby home soon- yikes! Here is my post- hope you all are well. I love the pics as usual and hope you guys all have a blessed and peaceful new year!

Hi Everyone- wanted to thank you all for the good wishes and support while my baby is in the hospital- things are going as well as we could hope for. Yesterday they took out his breathing tube, an arterial line, his foley catheter(urine) and a tummy drainage tube. Then they added a new tube through his nose to his tummy so he can be fed!!!!!! Hooray!! I am so very happy. Today I think he will meet with the occupational therapist to make sure he knows how to suck and swallow- he sort of has the sucking thing down and likes the paci but he has a lot of "spit bubbles" and it doesn''t seem like he remembers to swallow- I know they will be able to help him though- Also they will take out a central line(right atrial) line that is measuring pressures right now and then we will be able to hold him!!!! Like I said I am very happy.
My little baby looks so sweet to me, but so different already than when he was born. I can''t wait until he is free of all tubes and wires and I can really check him out- know what I mean? Well that is it for now. Thanks for reading.

Hi Mommies, Happy New Year!

I haven''t been around much, we''ve been swamped with visitors and Amelia had her first cold, poor lamb! Amelia loved her first Christmas, she actually seemed to understand what was going on (well, she understood unwrapping presents anyways...) and she had a fantastic time. Love all your baby holiday photos, but for some reason I can''t post mine. My friend is a photographer and she took a set of pics of Amelia''s first Christmas. They are just gorgeous, she''s so talented, but I cannot get them sized to post here. When I try to make them smaller, I just get a tiny corner of the image instead of a smaller version of the whole thing. Anyone know what I''m doing wrong??

Pave, I''m so glad to hear your precious little one is doing well, I''ve been thinking about you. Congratulations, mommy!

Burk, I''m so sorry to hear Tayva has croup. Just the last thing you needed, but I hope it improves quickly now you have something to treat it with. Poor love, I like her latest pic very much, she has so much personality! She''s supercute, too.

Tacori, just had to say - when I logged onto PS a few minutes ago, DH was walking past and saw your new avatar pic and he asked "hey, is that Amelia?" In that pic, T looks very like A. Hmm. I wish I could post a pic to show you what I mean. I think it''s partly because A''s hair is growing and although she''s only 7 months, it''s giving her a slightly older look.

I moved her crib into her own room this afternoon. We said 6 months, but let it slide, because neither of us wanted to move her. She''ll sleep better and it''s a step towards no more night feeds, since DH can go and see to her if she wakes. While she was in our room, she could smell milk and just wanted to feed all night. I''m prepared for a couple of awful nights, but I''m hopeful that in the long run, we''ll have a good result. Wish me luck!

Hope you all have a wonderful and happy year.

Jen

A quick drive by to wish mommies and babies a HAPPY 2009!

Also, happy 9-month to TGal''s Amelia!

Hi Everyone...

We are HOME!!! Hooray! Will have to catch up later but wanted to say love the new pics as always and sorry to hear so many of our babies are sick! Amelia is sick as well...right in time for the long flight home, wouldn''t ya know it.

Flight went very well. We got upgraded to business class from Sydney to LA and it was the new A380 so it was pretty darn posh. Interestingly the bassinet in business class was smaller than the coach one and our tall little girl was pretty smushed in there! Looked like a sardine!

We totally got the stink eye look when we boarded the plane because we had the only infant in business class. I don''t blame them. I was kind of concerned because we got to the airport in Adelaide at 9 am, right in time for her nap but of course NO ONE would let her nap! The rellies all wanted to be with her until the end and even though we tried to get her to nap, it was futile. What was even more aggravating is that forced us to check in our stroller all the way through so we had to use the airport dinky strollers with no recline, plus had no stroller in Sydney. Thank god for the ergo at least.

We got to use the business class lounge in Sydney and Amelia had only one short nap on the plane over from Adelaide, which was filled with bouts of coughing and crying.
39.gif
Our flight was delayed and finally at about 4 pm Sydney time, Amelia just screamed in frustration. It was kind of funny actually because it was only one or two screams, but boy was she pissed off and tired! Like I said, we got the stink eye from other business class passengers but I was hopeful things would go OK, and they did! She was awake for the first 40 minutes of the flight...we fed her her dinner bottle and put her right to bed shortly before 6pm Sydney time and she was out for TWELVE HOURS!
36.gif
The flight is only 13 hrs and change so this was awesome. However, we were still never able to fully relax because she did cough a bit for the first couple of hours and of course we were SURE she was going to wake up often, which she didn''t. She woke up 40 minutes before the flight landed so we gave her her morning bottle and that was the end of it. Boy, those business class passengers were SO MUCH NICER in the morning! They smiled at her and waved and said was a fantastic baby she was. I had to chuckle...I''d feel the same way about a baby who didn''t make any noise on a 13 hour flight too!

Her schedule is whacked now so working on getting her back to her 6 pm bedtime here in LA. Yesterday she went to bed at 11 pm, eek! We''re changing that, asap!

Hugs to all, and will be back to catch up this weekend!

just popping in to wish everyone a great first day in 2009!!!!

Great new pics everyone--can''t wait to spend some time catching up on this thread --will comment more

Pave--glad things are going as well as can be hoped for. You are a strong mom! It will feel so terrific to be rid of all the tubes etc. so you can snuggle. keep us posted.

Tgal--welcome home, your flight home sounded so identical to mine from spain! We got upgraded as well and i totally recall the stink-eye from the richies and then the chance in attitude when the flight ended and they realized the kid was an angel. I also remember not being able to relax for 9 hours, wondering, fearing that a devil would be unleashed at the first sign of turbulence or something. I can''t believe Amelia slept for 12 hours straight in that bassi. She really is an amazing sleeper.
rest up--it must feel good to be home and have Amelia to yourself again.

Jas, yes, it does feel good to have her to ourselves again. I remember you said Co was great on that trip. We are both very lucky!!

Forgot to say happy new year to all! I nearly forgot as we''ve just been home doing nothing.

So, I will put up a few pics of Amelia. I haven''t posted any in awhile.

First up, in Oz with Grandma...

DSC_0723.JPG

btw, the quality is crap when I resize...the originals are totally crisp.

OK, here is Christmas day in Oz...where it''s warm enough to wear sundresses!

DSC_0761.JPG

And onto the 9 month pics. Disclaimer: She was sick all day today so I just kept her in a daggy onesie which is way too big for her (thus nice and loose and comfy). I did get to give Amelia her first goofy ponytail though.

This first one I am posting because it shows what her features really look like (most of the time she has that bottom lip sucked in.)

DSC_0890.JPG

oops, that was huge. Ah well.

And now, a quick series of "I love my foot."

DSC_1061.JPG

"Don''t you love my foot?"

DSC_1062.JPG

"Feet are so FUN!"

(The End. That should tide you ladies over for a long while!

TGal, welcome home.

She''s an absolute darling! No wonder the inlaws were captivated. Sweet baby, she''s adorable. Gotta love how much babies love their own feet!

Good luck getting settled back into your home routine.

Burk, I missed your pic last night, I couldn''t see it from my laptop for some reason. You look fantastic! Nice to put a face to the name, I don''t think I''ve seen your pic before (sorry if I missed it!). Tayva is such a lovely looking girl, soooo sweet! I hope she''s feeling better.

Jen

burk - great pic of you and T. i hardly have any pics of me with my kids either. I''m trying to remember to hand over the camera and ask because i don''t want them looking back and wondering why there are no pics of mommy
4.gif

Puffy- cute pics!

Tgal, Welcome home! I''m glad you had a good trip. 9 month pics already
6.gif
Amelia is darling, the picture that you said shows her features is beautiful, totally frame worthy and "baby contest entry" worthy.

Burk, we BOTH need to make more of an effort to get our DHs to take more pictures! Does T like the L&L house BTW? Or is that a b-day gift?

Puffy, I spend lots of time kissing those perfect cheeks.
30.gif
Adorable pics of B. He is such a happy boy! The dot shoes are pedipeds so they are leather soled. I have a few from Target that has a thin rubber bottom (which I prefer now) but are still flexible. My mom bought her some shoes at Stride Rite and the poor thing CANNOT walk in them. They aren''t that flexible I guess (plus heavier). It was so funny when we tried them on her. Such a waste though since we all know how much those shoes cost.

lili, awww..thank you. We need some new J pics!

iluv, I know she has so many clothes. My mom has probably spent the most on her. She goes overboard.

Lor, thank you. She is my mini me for sure.

Pave, you and your family are in my thoughts. Sounds like T is doing awesome! Hope he gets to go home soon.

MrsM, now you have to post a picture! Funny about you DH. What program do you use to resize pics? First cold is always hard. Hope Ame feels better soon!

TGal, ADORABLE pics! Love the feet pics. Welcome back home! I am sure it feels great. You are so lucky. T would have probably screamed the whole way. How did you get upgraded? Nice!

Jas12, happy new year! Hope you are finally settled.

MrsS, you need to be on the Burk pact too! More pictures of the mamas!

Tgal great pics of Amelia! She is growing so much... I wonder, do you see more of yourself in her now that she is getting bigger and her features are more defined? I recall when she was born you thought someone gave you a changeling baby because she didn''t look Korean at all to you
9.gif

mrsS thanks! how are jake''s ears?

skippy thanks! he was a big hit in his hawaiian shirt.

tacori thanks! B used to wear his robeez which are leather soled shoes and every time i put him in regular walking shoes, he can''t walk in them. i recently got him a pair of crocs and he can walk in those, so i''m slowly trying to transition him into regular shoes. i just didn''t realize it would take so long.

tgal welcome home!!! i''m sure it''s nice to be back and have her all to yourselves. great pics of amelia. she is turning into quite the little lady! 9 months already? all the april babies are getting so big!

puffy, try target shoes. They are cute and cheap. They are in between leather soled and regular.

Hi Skippy, thanks!

Burk, what a great picture of the two of you! Sorry to hear T has croup. Hope she feels better soon.

QT, it must be so fun watching M learn to roll over!

Tacori, you''re right. I probably do save money, which is always good.

Burk, adorable pictures of B! I love the second picture of him laughing!

pave, yay that''s great news! I can''t wait for all the tubes to be removed so you can cudlle and hold your son!

MrsM, good luck moving A into her room.

TGal, Welcome back! Glad the flight back went well. Yay for Amelia! Love the pictures, especially the I love my foot ones! She''s so cute!

Tacori, hey I finally managed to upload a pic!

Of course, it isn''t one of the ones where she looks a bit like T, for some reason these files are too large to shrink enough (took them with my mom''s camera).

We''re impressed she can play the piano already!
9.gif

snlee, she slept for 11 hours!!! I''m counting that as a bit of a success. Here''s hoping she''ll do it again tonight!

She loved this. Because every small baby needs a new resource for making noise from time to time...

Hey ladies, all these pictures are just so adorable!!! I''m trying to savor my boys'' newborn time, but at the same time I can''t wait for them to get old enough to interact some more!!!

I apologize for my lack of time for individual hellos/responses to everyone, but y''all know how it is with newborns! Had their 2 week checkup today and everything looked great. The goal was to have them back up to their birthweights by today, but they each were a few ozs over so the doc was very happy. And so am I!

One quick question for all you moms who pump a bit...when do you find is the best time to pump? Snlee said morning is best for her...but what about the rest of y''all? I''m basically trying to pump for one feeding a day so DH can give them their midnight feeding. That way I get to sleep a few hours altogether. I don''t think it makes sense to pump right before or after because basically I feed them around 10, go right to sleep, and then DH doesn''t wake me up until they want their 2am-ish feeding. Any advice?

Hi PS mommies!

35.gif
First I just have to tell you guys that I love popping over here to see all of your gorgeous babies. Hopefully I'll be able to join you all over here in a few weeks and that leads to why exactly I'm here now... I'm looking for some advice for those of you who went the induction route. My due date is January 18th and my Dr scheduled me for an induction on the 15th. The induction is really for no other reason besides the baby is on the bigger side (7lb 10oz as of this past Monday's ultrasound.) My BP has been good and no GD. My sister thinks I'm crazy for being okay with having an induction and I should wait to see if the baby comes on its own. The timing is great for us as my DH won't have to take much time off of work if we stick to that date (even though we realize this little one may just have plans of it's own and come sooner.) I've heard both sides that some women absolutely HATED being induced (my sister) and others that loved it and wouldn't want it any other way. What do you ladies think and why?

Sorry if there's another thread on this topic. I tried searching it and didn't come up with anything.

neat i started pumping basically the day i got back from the hospital. don't know why, but i did. i basically pumped every time i finished nursing B. so when ever he was done, i would pump both sides. i obviously got more from one side, but with twins, i guess it'll be about the same. don't expect much when you first pump, actually don;t expect much when you pump period. i just combined all the milk from each of the pumping sessions. again, don't be surprised when you pump because you really can't get too much from pumping. but if you wanted to pump just once in the day and not clean everything 5 times in 1 day, then i would agree that morning is best, or if you skip 1 feeding then pump around then so it allows your body to make more milk for the next feeding, assuming that you are supplementing.
ok, i am totally babbling.
glad to hear that the boys are doing well and eating like champs!!
how is the healing going?

ETA: L2L: i was not induced, so i can't comment on that. i believe that TACORI so hopefully she'll chime in. but i wanted to say a BIG CONGRATS and see you over here in a few weeks!! i know you have heard this many times already, but SLEEP, SLEEP, and SLEEP some more!!

MrsM, CUTE pictures. I have some of T on my parent's piano too.

NF, MORNING!!! Seriously...your milk supply is the highest them. If you are pumping to stock you need to add in a "feeding." If it is just to have Mr Neat bottle feed replacing might work. Wanted to tell you my neighbor has twin boys who are almost a year and she is still BFing (no supplement) so it is possible. Hang in there!

L2L, Me! Me! Me! I was induced and loved it! Of course I was a week late as my doctor (or the practice) does not believe in inducing first time moms *before* the EDD. Higher chance of c-secs which most women want to avoid. My shortened version of my story (my full birth story is somewhere in the preggo thread) is I made no progress. I would still be preggo
40.gif
So I had to go to the hospital the night before so they could soften my cervix (you sleep with the medicine in a tampon like applicator). I am not going to lie. Unless they changed the design it is VERY painful when they insert it. I knew I was in trouble when the MALE doctor gave me a disclaimer and said he was sorry before he even touched me. None of my friends who were induced had this BTW so you might not need it. They planned to start all the meds at 8am the next day but the Cervidil (sp?) was enough to throw me into labor around 4-5 am. My water broke on its own as well and had she dropped, I was bigger, she was smaller, I carried lower I would have had a VERY short labor. Even with pushing for 3 hours it was only around 8.5 hours long. My doc agreed to induce at 39 weeks next time for fear the baby might be larger. BTW u/s estimates can be quite off so don't worry yet. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!

ETA: Puffy you know me well! Haha! I am like the induction cheerleader. It was nice to not be in labor during all those questions they ask you when you admit you, not having to time contractions, not having to worry or rush about getting to the hospital. For me *THAT* part was ideal. Too bad the rest of it wasn't. Haha.

hi everyone!
finally a second to catch up!

first and foremost, i don''t think i ever even congratulated NEATFREAK and PAVE!!! YAY!! welcome to mommy-hood!

NEAT: the pics you have posted are absolutely adorable. the boys are gorgeous...and it sounds like you''re doing great. congrats on the boys being above their birthweights! coby was still 3 oz under at his 2 week appt (although he''s sure caught up now). regarding pumping...i had so much trouble at first. i definitely agree the best time is in the morning. i try to feed on one side and pump on the other (in the morning only), although this really only works if you''ve gone for a while so you get a little engorged... i got 5 oz on one side this morning (which is a lot for me!)

PAVE: thank you for all the updates. i have been thinking of you, and am THRILLED to hear that your son is doing so well. i bet you are so excited to hold him! would love to see a pic (unless i''ve missed it somewhere??)

BURK: thanks for the advice! coby is only 10 weeks, so i definitely think a little young to CIO. i do feel better about using the swing as a nap "crutch" when i hear other people have done it! can''t wait to see how your invites turn out. the picture you posted of you and T is beautiful. i think she really has your smile!!! so sorry to hear about the croup. at least you have it under control! T sounds like such a trouper!

PUFFY: thanks for the advice to you too!! and your son is soooo adorable. thank you for posting more than one pic. i love seeing different poses (you really get a feel for the kiddos when you see more than one)...

MRS S: so sorry to hear that the ears STILL aren''t doing well! hopefully this last round of antibiotics will work.

TACORI: thanks for your advice too (i know i can always count on you), and i know i AM lucky that he is sleeping so well!!! i totally see the suri thing, although i think tessa is definitely way cuter!!! the updated pics are way too cute! btw, glad to hear you like the target shoes. i am a sucker and bought a pair for coby the other day (um, even though he obviously won''t be walking for a LONG time!!), and was wondering if they are only to look cute or if they are actually functional. i can''t believe they are only $10 when robeez are like 3-4x that!!

DIVA: thank you too! i haven''t tried the bottle to put him to sleep (i''m trying to avoid it if i can!). i''m doing only breast feeding so far (although he does take pumped milk in a bottle so i definitely may fall back on it when all else fails!!). re: bumpers, i think it''s a personal issue. some think they''ve been associated with SIDS, and my pedi said they are prob alright, as long as they are tied on TIGHT and nothing can get wedged/stuck beneath them and the mattress. they also have the mesh ones, which i know are very popular (we will prob switch to them once coby starts moving around a lot).

ILUV: love the pic of ava (also, LOVE the name!). cute trick, the coke!! i hope you feel better soon!! the kilt is adorable as well!

JAS12: hope you had a good new years! sounds like a fun ski trip!!!

SNLEE: HI!! oh, how i hate the "growth spurt." every time i think coby is FINALLY stretching out his feedings, he always catches me by surprise. but thank goodness they are healthy and growing, right?? how FUN for laughing. i can''t wait until coby starts doing that!! and i know what you mean about the girl clothes (although i''m definitely doing my fair share of damage with boy things as well!)

LILI: i feel like i haven''t seen an updated pic of J! please post!! how is she sleeping these days?

QT: i have no advice about the walker...not quite there yet! when do babies usually start rolling over? my pedi asked us about coby doing it at the 1 mo AND the 2 mo appt (um...no, he hasn''t done it yet...not even close!!). btw, loved the reindeer pic of M. sooo cute!

MRS M: amelia at the piana is adorable!! i just love all of her hair!! good luck with the crib move...i hope it goes easier than you expect!

TGAL: welcome home! yikes...sounds like such a long trip (i went to australia about 8 years ago and cannot even imagine doing it with a 9 mo old!). amelia is such a trouper! and that''s great about being upgraded...i can only imgaine what a difference that would make! she is such a beautiful baby! i love the close up pic the most. oh, and the feet pics are to die for!

L2L :i was''nt induced so i can''t really comment, but did want to say a big congrats! can''t wait to see you over here!

whew...that was a long one!!

just a quick update here...we''re doing GREAT! i can''t believe it, but coby slept a FULL EIGHT HOURS last night! what a great 10 week present to us! i am starting to feel human again. :)

we have had so much company since coby was born. thankfully, my parents bought a second small place here so they don''t stay with us but have been around all but TWO weeks! and right now, dh''s entire family is in town as well. i''ve been REALLY annoyed because almost everyone is sick and i''m trying so hard to avoid coby coming down with a cold! MIL has completely lost her voice, but INSISTS that she''s not sick...it''s driving me NUTS. and when i insist that people who are obviously ill (stuffy noses, etc) use purell before they touch the baby, i hear MIL say "just wait until she has the 2nd baby...i bet she won''t be doing the purell then!"...as if i''m so anal and stuff. i actually turned to her and said, "um, sorry, if it was july and not rsv season and you guys weren''t obviously ill, then i wouldn''t be so careful!" aargh... in fact, i''m almost TOO cavalier...we''ve had coby at malls and restaurants and hotels since he was basically 2 weeks old!!

ok, vent over. my parents leave tomorrow (i''m really sad!!!) and won''t see the llittle guy again for six weeks. and dh''s family leave on sunday and monday. i CANNOT WAIT to finally have some alone time with coby and dh. and time to get into a schedule!! i start work next month (i''m already sad and anxious!), and want things to be settled before then.

i am totally rambling! sorry!
i hope you are all well!!

xo,LIA

Lia, T rolled over consistently at 4 months (I believe she was rolling both ways. Can''t remember). I actually do not like the look of robeez (sorry to those that do). The Target shoes I buy her are in the actual show section. They look like big girl shoes but smaller. At my Target they are on the endcaps. I am a HUGE fan of pedipeds but the leather soles aren''t ideal now that she is walking/running. I cannot believe what a good sleep Coby is! I hate you! At 10 weeks T was up every 2-3 hours. I was a tired mama. Oh and welcome to the "my MIL drives me crazy." I have totally heard that second child comment too. Annoying! Suri? Is it the hair or the entire face? Gosh imagine if I cut her bangs people would think she was Suri Cruise. BTW we love the mesh bumper. Only thing is now she stands on them and pushes them down. I don''t always remember to pull them back up and would you know it she got a leg stuck in the rails a few weeks ago! I felt so bad.
