Hi PS mommies!

35.gif
First I just have to tell you guys that I love popping over here to see all of your gorgeous babies. Hopefully I''ll be able to join you all over here in a few weeks and that leads to why exactly I''m here now... I''m looking for some advice for those of you who went the induction route. My due date is January 18th and my Dr scheduled me for an induction on the 15th. The induction is really for no other reason besides the baby is on the bigger side (7lb 10oz as of this past Monday''s ultrasound.) My BP has been good and no GD. My sister thinks I''m crazy for being okay with having an induction and I should wait to see if the baby comes on its own. The timing is great for us as my DH won''t have to take much time off of work if we stick to that date (even though we realize this little one may just have plans of it''s own and come sooner.) I''ve heard both sides that some women absolutely HATED being induced (my sister) and others that loved it and wouldn''t want it any other way. What do you ladies think and why?

I was induced with Jake and I loved it. We checked in around 6:00am in the morning and it was so different than when I was already in labor going to the hospital with my first two. we were just more relaxed and I liked knowing there was an end date in sight. I don''t like being preggo and just knowing I only had so many days left helped me make it "mentally."

Sorry if there''s another thread on this topic. I tried searching it and didn''t come up with anything.

LIA-- sick relatives around babies makes my blood boil too--yay for a quiet house tomorrow . I share your pain over not wanting to go back to work--i''ve been thinking about it a lot too--it''s not an easy thing to face.

Tacori--i see a bit of suri too--i think b/c of her straight shiny/thick hair. Love that baby hair! Her newest pics are precious

Tgal--i agree that first foot pic is ''baby contest'' winner worthy--you really captured a great moment--and your camera kicks my camera''s butt--very nice quality!!

Burk--you and t are gorgeous together!!! Do u go back to work on monday?

Puffy--post away, i for one don''t mind all the pics--they are great

Neat--i found pumping in the morning gave me the best/most milk. So great that your DH is doing a feeding, that must be a big help. And like Tacori, a coworker of mine has twin boys and nursed them till 18 months with no supplements either! good luck!

MrsS.. oh poor Jake, can''t believe he still has that ear infection. I hope it clears up this month--did they explain why it''s holding on so long. I keep seeing Co tug at his ear so think i''ll have them checked, he doesn''t seem in pain, but you mentioned that Jake didn''t complain either...

Loves2laugh--i chose not to induce--although could have at 42 weeks. i know OBs around here will not do so unless there is a strong medical reason or past 42 weeks. I went the full 2 weeks over with my son just so the ''labor gods'' could prove how hard it could be to wait (pure torture) but my *personal* belief is that birth is not something to be scheduled and most of the time nature knows best (i think it''s nature''s way of preparing you for unpredictable life as a parent
3.gif
) that said, after being SO overdue i totally see why ppl will or want to do it and lots of ppl have good experiences so do what is right for you.
One last thing, those weight predictions are often *really* off. A friend of mine just had a 6.5 lb baby that was predicted at over 8 lbs
5.gif
I was told i was having a small baby (he was 8.8)

Not much new with me--Co is into all sorts of stuff, but is still not crawling very well. He says ''mama'' directed at me now and points to his nose when we ask him, does the "high five" and plays patty cake. My BF (who is deaf) taught him a few basic signs over the holidays so he uses those now-- The poor kid is asked to repeat these ''tricks'' a million times a day by the extened family. The other day he just waved his hands in a whirling and up and down action as if to say:
"how ''bout if i just do this, -will it cover everything"??!

Speaking of extended family--seems like the us PS moms have had enough company--had to laugh b/c i haven''t been on here much, but when i did check it there was a lot of venting going on, or counsel for poor Tacori and the MIL situation--i think it''s safe to say we''ll all enjoy a quiet house this month
2.gif

i didn''t post a holiday pic (or did i? can''t recall)
Here;s one...
notice there are no bulbs on the lower half of the tree--a little elf removed them all and broke one in the process

Yay! More cute baby pictures! I''m still waiting for superhubby to resize some for me to post.
20.gif
I may have to figure it out for myself

I think that we''re going to buy a exersaucer tomorrow for James. He''s getting pretty big and although he loves his bouncy chair I think he''s ready to move onto something that will let him sit up and play. He loves to "sit" on the floor and play with things, but he''s not sitting on his own yet. I really like the Rainforest Jumperoo but we''ll have to try him out in it to see if he likes it.

tacori i''ll have to give target a try and look for some shoes for B. DH thought that once B started to walk, we just needed to get him normal shoes nd he would be good to go so he went out and bought B just about every pair of nike''s he could find! B has a closet full of shoes that he can''t wear. haha!! oh and just had to add that if i had a girl, i would be all over the pedipeds and not robeez. i like the robeez for boys and the pedipeds for girls.

LIA thanks! MIL''s aren''t they the best?!?! when B was born, MIL got mad an a few occasions because i asked FIL to purell his hands before he touched B. i mean the man smokes like a chimney for goodness sakes. but she still thought i was an overbearing mama. that''s awesome that your little one is such a great sleeper! isn''t it great how a full night''s sleep makes you so much happier?

jas12 Co is such a cutie!!! YAY for learning things. it''s really amazing how smart babies are and how quickly they pick stuff up. B still does a few signs now but he''s mostly "telling" me what he wants, which makes my life SOOO much easier.

mrsM GREAT news about the sleep!! moving her to her own room was a good thing i take it!

diva the rain forest jumper you are talkign about is pretty popular. i would say that it is probably the most popular jumper and for a good reason. there are so many toys on it and they can just jump, jump, jump all day. if you are looking into an exersaucer, then i would say that evenflo ones are pretty good because of the variety of toys.

lili any pics of J? isn''t it about time for a 9 month pic?

have a great weekend!!

Hiya gals!

Well, still not caught up yet but will comment on the recent stuff and work backwards this weekend.

Thanks all for the nice words about Amelia. The camera is great but I am not using it as I should. Just auto focus point and shoot. The difference is in the external flash, and this isn''t even the best one. Just the little 400 speedlight which means for portrait shots I''m am bouncing light off the walls. However, even that works fine and the full res ones are very nice and clear. All the photos I posted were in very low light, so I know I would have never captured many of these shots with my point and shoot.

Jas, Co is such a bright boy. He knows lots of tricks! Too funny about the waving of arms. Amelia doesn''t do any tricks on demand, except for possibly high fives...but I am not sure if she''s just grabbing for my hand. She''s just into a clucking noise lately with her tongue and that''s about it.

Tacori, love the new pics of T, and love her bangs in her eyes...hehehe. She''s just a gorgeous little girl! As for the upgrade, TGuy had enough points to upgrade the both of us, and it went through, yay! Best use of the points because when I checked the fares a few months ago, it was 18,000 smackers round trip for our ticket. That''s right. 18 THOUSAND.
23.gif

Dreamer, I do see a lot of me in Amelia. But I see a lot of everyone else too. I guess she''s just uniquely Amelia then! I can''t believe how far along you are...can''t wait until you become a mom...very exciting!

Puffy, I love B''s expressions. He seems like quite the personality!!

MrsM, Amelia looks to be quite talented! So smart to be sitting and playing at her age!

L2L, as for induction, I have no real comment because I wasn''t induced. But I will chime and say that the predicted weights could be way off. I was scheduled to go in for an ultrasound to figure out weight, which would have most likely led to an induction. Granted, I never made that ultrasound because I had the baby the day of my appointment, but the doc predicted I would have a 9 pounder. Amelia was 7 pounds, 2 oz and quite small.

LIA, yay for sleep! I hope he continues to do so, but please don''t be discouraged if he doesn''t. Sometimes it clicks and they continue right through and other times it really is just a gift for the day. Don''t stress too much about the naps - just do what you can. We used the swing as a napping place too for some time. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Diva, I love the rainforest jumperoo. More likely than not, the first time you put him in, he''ll just kind of hang there. Then at some point (usually soon), they just get it. It''s funny as they figure it all out. Amelia still loves hers.

So a friend told me today that one of our friend''s daughters (who is 7) said to another friend''s daughter (who is 6), "You''re a loser! And you always WILL BE a LOSER!"
23.gif
The one who this was said to is the sweetest, prettiest little girl that I know. The one who said it is the one I have mentioned before on Pricescope...she is the one whose mother buys all the little girl pretty decent sized diamond stud earrings.

Gosh, I am not looking forward to the stage where I have to worry about Amelia making friends. Kids can be so mean.

Eeee...more cute pictures!!
Love them all

Those pictures of Brady are so cute.
I love the one of him in his Hawaiian shirt.
Looked like he was in a bit of a giggle fest -- too cute

J is doing ok someone who's been sick since Thanksgiving.
Yeah, poor thing has been through colds, fevers, and now coughs.
I don't think there was one day that she was fine since the start of the holiday.
Either she just couldn't shake that first cold or because she's just overly active to let her body recover.
Yeah, even when she's sick, she's moving about like she's 100% fine.
The last few days, she'd been throwing up as a result of her coughs.
So we took her to see the dr and found that she's got a slight ear infection
39.gif

On top of all that, she's been working on her top 2 teeth this past week.

On a brighter note, she can drink from a straw
36.gif
36.gif

Aye...my baby is growing toooooo fast.
39.gif

She'll be 9 months in a few more days.
Would post some recent pictures of her, but the latest ones I've got are from Xmas.

That''s wonderful news about Tyler''s recovery.
Hope all his tubes will be removed soon, so that he go home and snuggle with his mommy and daddy.
You are a strong mom. Keep us posted.
Can''t wait to meet your little man.

TGal
Welcome home.
And I must say I''m totally jealous of you (and Jas12) for having such a good baby traveler.
Amelia and Co take after their mumsies heh?

Love the latest pictures of your little lady.
She''s gotten so big and her hair is really long too.
Her pony is too cute
5.gif

She''s got such sweet little lips, but I''ll say that I love it when she sucked in her lower lips though
41.gif

Jas12
Haha, I agree with TGal, Co is a smarty pants.
Wow, not only is he talking but signing too?
Love the holiday picture of him. So stylish as usual -- too cute with the sweater vest.
And I think you still owe us a Xmas family picture
41.gif

MrsM
Awwee...we got a music prodigy here
5.gif

A is adorable as usual.
And it looks like you gave her another haircut.
Yay for the 11 hours of sleep in her own room.
I''d count 6 hours a success already.

Tacori
What brand of Target shoes are you talking about?

Haha... this gave me a chuckle but then I have a rotten mind
11.gif
Just how many people were involved in her conception anyways? LOL! I can''t believe how far along I am either, only 8 more weeks
23.gif
It is exciting and terrifying! We keep looking at each other and saying, "Um, you know we are having a baby, right? Who''s idea was this anyways??" It is hard to imagine how everything will change, but I''m sure it will be amazing and crazy and stressful and fun! Like all the best things in life, right? At least that''s what I keep telling myself

I agree with the others about first morning pump giving you most milk.
Since I''m a night owl, it makes more sense for me to pump at night.
I don''t get as much milk, so I just combined 2 nights of pumping to freeze for reserve.

L2L
I wasn''t induced, but just wanted to say can''t wait to see you over here on the mommy thread.
Also, I wanted to echo what others said about the accuracy of predicting the baby''s birth weight base on the us.
Our very own TGal''s Amelia was predicted to be over 9 lbs but came out a tad over 7 lbs (right TGal)?

Diva
Hehe, I''d say figure it out yourself girl.
We''ve been waiting for so long for those darn pictures.
3.gif

LIA
Yay for sleept! That''s pretty good that he''s able to sleep that long for 10 wks.
I''m happy if J sleeps for 5 hrs before waking up for a feeding these days.
And I hear you on the sick relatives driving you bonkers insisting on getting near a newborn whose immune system is very fragile.
DH was very persistent about the purell on all hands touching the baby during the first month.

Anyway, the most recent picture I have of J on here was the holiday picture.
Like I''ve said earlier, I haven''t taken any more recent ones except for the holiday ones.
But I can always post those if you guys want

Lia, T rolled over consistently at 4 months (I believe she was rolling both ways. Can''t remember). I actually do not like the look of robeez (sorry to those that do). The Target shoes I buy her are in the actual show section. They look like big girl shoes but smaller. At my Target they are on the endcaps. I am a HUGE fan of pedipeds but the leather soles aren''t ideal now that she is walking/running. I cannot believe what a good sleep Coby is! I hate you! At 10 weeks T was up every 2-3 hours. I was a tired mama. Oh and welcome to the ''my MIL drives me crazy.'' I have totally heard that second child comment too. Annoying! Suri? Is it the hair or the entire face? Gosh imagine if I cut her bangs people would think she was Suri Cruise. BTW we love the mesh bumper. Only thing is now she stands on them and pushes them down. I don''t always remember to pull them back up and would you know it she got a leg stuck in the rails a few weeks ago! I felt so bad.

Hehe, I don''t think it''s the hair or face.
I think it''s more her clothes.
You know how Suri is the icon of baby fashion....and Tessa is one very well-dressed baby :)

Hi all, I''ve been MIA...Dh''s grandmother passed away New Years Day at the age of 96 (!)...so it''s been crazy here. We''re off on Monday to the funeral and leaving the babies with my parents. It''ll be the first overnight away from them, and they''ll all be at our house, but it''s hard to think of being away from them even though I know it''ll be fine. I''m trying to get the house in order and their daily routines written up for my parents. And pack for the trip. And take care of the boys.

It''s nuts.

Anyone else develop arthritis? I had some joint swelling my 3rd trimester, and now it''s back big time. No I ain''t preggo.

Great seeing all the pictures and hearing from the new mamas. I''m stealing away to the computer when I can for a PS break...

Babies ALMOST slept through the night last night...J. got up once at 1:45...then the boys were up at 6. Maybe tonight will be the magic night. A gal can dream, can''t she?

My big boys are supporting their necks beautifully, but for some reason just don''t roll over. Makes me nervous. I know I shouldn''t be...considering Logan looks ready to walk.

Love to you all...I''ll check in on and off when I can these next few days. I''m usually around, just silent.

Congrats to the new mommies!

For those who asked about Target shoes, I like the Circo brand but obviously it is all about personal style. Here is one of the pairs she has. I couldn''t find the red pair but they are SO cute with flowers on them. She has them in two sizes b/c I loved them so much. I think the thin rubber really helps with the slip factor but they are still very flexible. I bought her a silver ballet style pair that has a thicker sole which she still cannot walk in. I have always found them in the shoe section *not* the baby section.

Oh here are the flower pair. I get lots of compliments on these. The circo "pre-walk" shoes seem to be where she is right now. The silver ones were just their toddler ones.

Just wanted to pop by and say all your new pics of your cuties are so sweet!

Thank you for all of your responses about being induced. I have an appointment on Wednesday with my OB so I''ll have a list of questions for him then. One of my biggest concerns I have is once you''re hooked up to the pitocin, can you be mobile? I really want to move/walk around and let gravity help with the contractions. Anyway... thanks again for all of your input! Can''t wait to join you ladies over here!
9.gif

L2L, pretty sure you are. I didn''t have it but they put it in your IV right? When I was on IV meds in recovery I could move around but had to roll the IV stand with me. Is there ANY progress with your cervix at all?

Steph, Andrew is such a cutie! I can''t believe Tessa is 14 months today. Where has the time gone?

L2L- you can still move around with the hanging IV until you get an epidural if you are getting one. once you get the epi you have to stay in bed..

Hi there. I was induced and I was mobile after they started the pitocin. But I only remember getting up to go to the bathroom, it is pretty powerful stuff, so didn''t really feel like moving around so much.

As promised, here are some pictures of my James Emerson.

I call this one "Little James" because he''s much bigger than this now. The sleeper he''s wearing does not fit anymore.
