mela, I love carter''s (cute neutral if you aren''t finding out the sex plus they are thick). We didn''t either and I kinda got sick of the white onesies PRETTY fast. Meh. But my girl lived in the patterned/colored ones for the first 8 months of her life! I also love Baby Gap and Gymboree (quality wise). I have a few hand me downs from a friend and those brands STILL look good. Make sure your sleepers have ZIPPERS. Carter''s and Old Navy have really cute gender neutral clothes! The nice thing is if we have a boy next time I have newborn stuff in green (etc) that he could wear too. Also I want to put a plug in for Land''s End baby/kid stuff. There onesies have TWO sets of buttons so baby can wear them a lot longer. Actually many of their clothes are like that (straps change on dresses, snaps on bathing suits), cute patterns AND good quality.

Ohhhh. Good ones Tacori. Thanks!!!! Another one for Carters...plus an Old Navy! Forgot about them!!

TGal
LOL....can openers indeed!
I hear you on putting in your time now to discipline.
J''s already pretty strong headed right now. I hate to imagine what she''d be like if I let her roam wild w/ no restraint
32.gif

That''s funny A doesn''t like applesauce.
J doesn''t either. She prefers her pear.
Funny thing is that she loves her freeze dried apple though.
J never did gagged with her baby food, but I think she''s tired of them and want something new.
We then gave her gerber graduates ravioli.
She was gobbling them up the first week, but now she just takes a couple of squares.

Like A, she likes her string cheese, yogurt, fruits (banana, avocado).
I tried fresh blueberries and she couldn''t spit it out fast enough, but she chomps on the freeze dried ones though.
Come to think of it, she''ll put all the dried stuff in her mouths, but squished and played with the fresh stuff.
20.gif

What type of bread are you giving A (white or wheat?)
And is that the baby oatmeal or the adult oatmeal?

Hehe, I should say tall and lean.
I know ... A just shot up in height and weight since birth!
What is she up to now?
Don''t worry, you''ll see that cute butt shake soon.
I wonder if A is a quick shuffle kind of girl or long and slow stride?
Just like their walk, they have their unique crawl too.
J is more the long stride crawl.

Bobo
Haha, good incentive.
I wouldn''t say B is lazy, more like impatient. Wants to get to the toy ASAP.

puffy
I sure hope the tantrums get better.
I''m already seeing her staying in her tantrums longer.
Last night, when I took away the pen that she was playing with, she went into her fit.
I used to be able to get her chippy again with a piggy back ride,
but yesterday, she just whined and sat there and refused to move.
Before, she''d dropped everything she was doing and scrambled to my back when I said "want a piggy back ride?"

msb
can''t wait to see your creation.

jas12
are you going to do some trial cuppies for Co''s bday too?

Tacori
Ahh, sorry to hear that T didn''t like it too much when you dropped her off at the child watch.
Do you stay there to play with her a bit before leaving?
That''s what they recommend we do at the beginning when we dropped J off at the daycare.
They said that way the baby gets a sense of security that you approved of this place and it''s a safe place for her.
J no longer cries or reached for us when we drop her off.
Of course, that could very well be that she''s so used to the place now since it''s been 5 months.

mela, I heart old navy! T''s entire outfit today (and many days) is from ON. It is hard to spend a lot when they outgrow things, stain things, etc...Plus I love their style. More baby cool than baby baby (if that makes sense). Also lots of gray stuff which is perfect for a boy or girl. The only reason I stopped putting her in onesies is it is such a PITA to change her diaper as it is. Extra steps/snaps are not an option. For the next one (if it is a boy since if it is a girl we are set) I will stop buying bodysuits at 6 or 9 months (depending on the time of year the baby is born). Anything 12+ should be a tee shirt.

TGal, I missed that you had an issue with your pad. I will have to go back and find your thread. Hope it all worked out!

Lili, I hear you on strong headed little girls! Mine is also stubborn. I guess she only cried for a few minutes (which is a record). I am not sure I am allowed in the baby area? I never see other parents in there

good info...for when I finally start buying things

Things I''m looking forward to:
-going into labour
16.gif

-Breast feeding
-shopping for gender specific clothes
11.gif

-seeing DH carry the baby.

I should say HI
35.gif
to everyone here. I''ll be here in 11 weeks or so...

It''s hard transitioning to a new thread. I remember how hard it was for me to join the preggo thread; now I can''t imagine having to leave it!!!

All of your posts and advice is great! Thanks to all for that.
17.gif

msb, good to know about the teeth. Every time I see Amelia''s gap, I wanna hum the beverly hillbilly song (actually I think it''s that song, not sure.)

Tacori, awww...I could actually picture the lunging and "maaama". It''s nice to know that all your hard work over the last year and 4 (?) months paid off and she knows you''re her one and only mama, eh?
30.gif

Burk, I always thought "parenting" really happens when baby number 2 comes along. Not to say what we all have been through isn''t tough, but I think the twin mamas would agree that it''s the balancing act that really gives you a run for your money. Everything seems harder when you already have one. Scheduling sleep, doling out attention, etc. I''m not sure I can do it. But I was sure I''d be a wacked mom, and so far Amelia is still alive and kicking (and at the moment, singing during her naptime again.)
20.gif

Wow, pavelover, you still amaze me with all your posts since Tyler is still young. I don''t remember posting much in the first few weeks of Amelia''s life except possible swear words. LOL. Being overwhelmed is normal. I felt almost depressed, and I''m not prone to those kinds of feelings. Giving birth to Amelia didn''t prepare me for the "death" of life as I knew it. I really sort of mourned it for awhile. I never resented her or anything, but I did want to get away from her! I''ll admit, I love working from home - especially the WORKING part! Weekdays are more of a vacation for me than weekends when I am off work, because on weekends I don''t have the help! I love surfing the net on my breaks without having to be concerned about what Amelia is doing. Love reading news. Love having ME time. A lot of us didn''t care to become moms and I think after we have kids, we just aren''t as into complete mommyhood as someone who may have dreamed about it all her life. I adore Amelia. She''s a dream and a joy. But she''s still a parasitic kid.
3.gif
Who is STILL singing during naptime, godd*mn it!!
29.gif

melalu, I like carters, but prefer some of the gap ones I''ve used. Things to look for in a onesie, IMHO are flexible neck opening (Amelia HATED having things put over her head, so the easier and quicker you can do it, the better), wider, stretchier body (again, easier to get on) and wider arm openings (you have to get your fingers through them easily to pull the baby''s arms out. This especially applies to long sleeves). I really liked a lot of the thinner looser material onesies, but I had to deal with them mostly through the summer. Tacori seemed to like the thicker onesies. So I would say don''t stock up until you find out what you and your baby likes . You will DEFINITELY start developing preferences based on both your taste.

MrsS, that''s so interesting! They are twins, I guess! Glad to see you drive by!

lili, Amelia looks like a gimp when she crawls. I''d use another word that starts with "R" and rhymes with "discarded" but it would be un-PC to use it.

I am giving Amelia wheat bread when possible, but she gets white, and even King''s Hawaiian bread. I''m not over concerned about her developing a sweet tooth because geez...she already has one. I tried only veggies for months, but she knows what she likes, and says bah to the rest. She likes sweet or salty (what a surprise) but not just any sweet or salty. Dairy is a hit, it seems (yogurt and cheese being favs). J sounds like she is a good eater though...and eating more than Amelia. Doesn''t surprise me that J is a long stride crawler...she seems to like to get places FAST!
1.gif

QT, Curly, TGal, NF -- What precious pics!!

DD -- VERRRRRRRRRY belated congrats on Hunter!

4 mo update-- Sophie was 13 lbs 8 oz (50percentile) and my chunky-butt Marina was 16 lbs 2 oz! (97th !! percentile) I think she''s gained another pound since then ;)

We started solids and they are HAPPY -- Sophie actually is a little pro already and Marina seems to enjoy it as a full-body experience. hee hee. Girls beckon...gotta run...
jen

Jen! Glad to hear the girls are doing great! Love the av pic...twins must be so fun (when it isn''t exhausting, lol.)

So, as I said, Amelia went down at 1, and was singing.

At about 2:15, she was still at it. Plus she was rolling over. I went in there from time to time to stick her binky back in her mouth and make sure she was fine (I''m afraid her legs, which are so long, will get stuck in between the railing even though we have a mesh bumper)

At 2:30, she lost her plot and started SCREAMING.

She obviously got to the point of overtired and wanted out or something. She normally has no problem with me coming in and out to check on her, but now she was screaming loud to get my attention when I left her and would stop crying once I got in there. This is a first.

I did pick her up for a couple of minutes to soothe her, then put her back down. No dice...she started crying again. I could tell she was tired, so I resisted the urge to just call off her nap.

But I did just lay on the floor of her room where she couldn''t see me. She cried for about 5 more minutes, but I am not sure if she could hear my breathing or something because it did finally stop and she just calmed down and played with her feet. 2:50, she finally passed out.

So yeah, CIO, even for 5 minutes, is not fun. But sometimes I think it has to be done. She was tired and needed sleep!!!

Just a quick drive by today because I''m beat. James is sick - had a bit of a fever, but had some Motrin and went to daycare. Sitter said he was cheery all day, but only took one nap. Checked his temp again when we got home and he had another fever so we gave him some more Motrin. He ate all of his dinner (bananas and cereal) and then went down at about 6:20. I feel so bad for him
15.gif
. It may be his teeth, but I don''t know for sure because his nose was a little runny too.
39.gif
If he''s not feeling better by the a.m. I''m calling the pedi for advice. Will be back later.

Burk
LOL...you deserve a bday week! Go and shop and get your "me" time.
Tayva is a "flirt" too huh? Does she do the giggle or the batting eyes or both?
9.gif

Yeah, J''s still waking up at night.
I don''t mind the waking up too much.
It''s the feeding that gets me sometimes, especially when she''s not really eating, so she''d be on me for 40 minutes.
Getting up for me is difficult, but I''m never a morning person.
But once up, I function ok during the day.
Eventually, it does catch up with me and I''ll fall asleep with her during one of her naps on the weekend or else sleep a little longer while hubby gives her breakfast.

Pave
I''m always amazed at how good you are at keeping up with everyone and you''ve got a newborn!
So glad to hear that Tyler''s surgery was a success. Sounds like he''s doing great and really thriving.
Hope for more great news on his third check up.

I''d said try the kiddie candid at babies-r-us. No sitting fee or requirement to purchase. Plus you get a free 8x10 for your trouble.

Mela
Oo....you are pretty close too.
Almost down to single digit weeks.
We like the Carter''s and ON onesies.
But I have to say that the first month or so, I have J in those kimono shirts.
Way easier to put on than trying to work the onesies over their little wobbly neck.

MrsS
That must be fun having your mom over.
Hehe, have to laugh at your mom''s job description -- Jake Holder
9.gif

Sounds like you are prepping for the move already huh?
How exciting.
How''s Jake doing?

Tacori
If she''s only crying for a few minutes...then she''s ok.
I think sometimes they are just crying for show, you know?
5.gif

TGal
We were at King''s Hawaiian this past weekend and I did shove a piece of their bread to J -- and she loved it.
Of course I wouldn''t be offering it to her on a daily basis since I don''t know how much butter they use on it.
Hehe....singing again huh? She''s quite a chatterbox.

Jen
Good to "see" you and your girls!
Wow, Marina is like J at 9 months.
Great avi pic.

OK, a quick drive by to say, my girl smiled, I saw all her teeth and...

SHE LOOKS LIKE BART SIMPSON!
32.gif

tgal amelia seems to be very calm. but you just wait until she is more mobile and all over the place, even more so than now. but you will love every minute of it. the first time B said "yes," i was just about to tell him no because he was doing something he shouldn''t be, and he just blurted out, "yes." funny kid. heehee, bart simpson!!! it gets better, but don''t you find it a little cute?

mela i actually prefer gap and gymboree. those were the only ones i use. just be sure not to buy too much.

mrsb hopefully K will be fine with eggs later on. poor kid. you have to be so careful with you give to him then. there sure are a lot of april bdays here!!

tacori try to give T a fork and see if she responds to it. when i first gave it to B, he didn''t know what to do with it. but he is no professional with it. he gets about 80% of the food in his mouth. and he can now stab food. sorry to hear about your friend, it must be so hard for her and her family. glad that T calmed down after a bit at child watch. how are the classes going?

burkoooohhhh, step class and a mani/pedi...good work!!! how was step class? i''ve been going to step class also for a bit now. i really like it, but i seem to be one of the "slower" ones in the class. haha!! hope you had a good time having drinks. ok, glad to hear that B is eating what he is supposed to. i was seriously getting concerned that he was eating way too much.

pave hope things with you and tyler are going well.

mrss how is jake doing?

lili well, don''t know what to tell you about the tantrums, but they do get better, but just not anytime soon! haha. B''s tantrums are still crazy, but sometimes they are better, not all the time though. he is actually having one right now!!! he is driving me nuts!! haha.

jen glad the girls are doing well! WOW, marina is an eater!!!!

diva sorry to hear james is sick. maybe teeth coming in?

ok, he is having a CRAZY tantrum right now and my ears are ringing!!!!!

Tacori – It’s good to know that good naps will come later. Right now she is so curious about everything that she doesn’t want to nap. It’s especially hard to train her for naps since I am not home on weekdays.
Glad T did well at Child Watch.

Burk – Happy Belated Birthday.
Sorry about your DH’s grandfather.

msb700 – Good luck with the party planning and vegan cupcakes. Are you just going to eliminate the eggs? I ask b/c a lot vegan cupcakes use margarine, and it would rather use butter.
Too bad that you have to cancel the May trip. Hope the Sept trip goes as planned.

NF – such a funny pic of Dexter.
Hope things turn around with the twin, and they don’t wake up as often.

snlee – For a little while when M was around 2 months, I let her sleep on her tummy during naps. She was not napping for longer than 5 – 10 min on her back, but would nap for few hours on her tummy. I stopped b/c pedi was strongly against tummy sleeping.
If you are talking about the tether for the Britax, then we don’t use them.

Janine – M squirmed and still does.

Diva – James is a big boy. We are waiting for M to crawl too.

Tgal – Amelia is a cutie.
M does the “stare you down” too, not even a crack of a smile from her.
M had already tried to arch her back to get out of the bumbo, but she didn’t succeed.
So cute that A “sings” before naps. One bad nap day is not too bad. =)

Puffy – Brady is a baby genius. Can’t believe he already know to get you the fork.
And how funny that B says “no” back to you.

Pave – My cousin’s twins would have been around the same age as M if she went full term; she was due a week before me. She got pregnant pretty soon after the babies passed away, maybe 4-5 months after.
Glad BFing is going well. Just take it one thing at a time.

Bobo – Hope you figure out what little B needs (for the night wakings).

Jas12 – I don’t blame you for not wanting a big 1st birthday party. I feel the same way you do… that the baby is too young to remember, but people are expecting one from us.
Mischievous Co is adorable.
Glad your shingle is getting better.

Mela lu – Gerber ones are horrible… shrink like crazy. I actually like Children’s Place and Circo (Target brand) onesies. They are pretty thick and soft ones. Don’t know if they have plain white, but they have neutral colors/designs. Carters ones are just ok for me.

MrsS – Good luck with the move.

Jen – your av is adorable.
Your twins are perfect example of how every baby are different.

Ok I am all caught up.

What's new on our end
We just upped M to three meals a day on Monday. We introduced puffs last week. At first, she gave a weird face but didn’t gagged. Now she is great with them. She’ll pick them up, but she doesn’t put it in her mouth. I have to put them in her mouth. The other day when I put one in my palm for her to pick up, she lowered her head to try to eat it off my palm instead of using her hand. It was so funny.

We are in the endless cycle of teething. Her gum bled again on Monday night. I don’t know if more teeth are coming or if it’s from the two top teeth. The two top teeth look like they had fully broke through before that. So I am wondering if that means more are coming. I am dreading breastfeeding her when her teeth fully come out. She already bite me a couple more times after the top teeth broke through, and it’s not a good feeling.

mela, how funny. I (as well as a few mommies here) were practically KICKED out of the preggo thread so I didn''t have much choice in the transition.
5.gif
Your list is so funny. 50% of it is what I am NOT looking forward to next time around.

TGal, she just turned 16 months! CRAZY! It is nice to feel needed b/c she isn''t the most cuddly or the most needy kid. So it is a reminder. But she gives so many kisses now! Even when my friends ask she kisses them. It''s so cute. Ignore Amelia''s teeth. I am telling you that all babies look funny with them. They GROW into them. Listen to mama Tacori. Have I ever mislead you?
2.gif

Jen, I cannot believe the girls are 4 months! Eek! Sounds like they are doing great.

Diva, sorry James is sick! That is never fun.

Lili, oh I think she already knows how to manipulate. It probably is for show. She is dramatic!

puffy, my classes are going good but the scale isn''t budging.
20.gif
Annoying! *sigh* I will try to give her a fork.

Q, good naps did come later but now she naps great. Depending on how tired she is she won''t even make a sound. Sometimes she will talk to herself or play but now that I have pushed her nap back to 12 she is pretty tired. Today she even waved and said "ba bye" when I put her to bed. So funny! You need to get her to quit biting you, you poor thing! Do you yell at her and pull her off? Poor Q! Teething SUCKS! The first 8 seem like a cake walk compared to the molars/K9s.

mrss~
35.gif
So glad your mom is around helping out! So excited for you for the move!

Tacori~That's good that T did well at ON. Did you get yourself anything? I haven't been there in a while...do they have anything cute? My T is usually good when we're moving, it's usually in the dressing room or in line that she starts getting "antsy" too! Five weeks is awesome. I'm sure your clothes will start to feel loose in some areas and you'll start to feel your muscles tone up soon! I'm sure it's a process to get T "into" child watch and it sounds like you're making progress....and so great to be reminded how much she misses you when you're gone, too!!

Tgal~Seriously, Miss singing Amelia is cracking me up (although I'm sure you were NOT laughing
3.gif
)! And the Bart Simpson thing...almost spit out my soda! Tayva's front teeth aren't completely in yet (hers came in super weird) so I can hardly wait to see what they look like when they are completely through. I do think 2 kids is a totally different game! Twin mommies are seriously my heroes!

Diva~So sorry poor James isn't feeling well! Hope his fever breaks!

lili~Yea, T is a total flirt...she waves at people, "talks" to them, blows them kisses (with "mwaa" sound), smiles, you name it. She's a little ham. I'm not a morning person, either. When T woke up those nights when she was sick I was a total wreck at work. I kept thinking how in the heck I did it when she was little. That's nice that your DH wakes with her on the weekends at least so you can get extra sleep!

Jen~Good to *see* you! Sounds like the girls are doing amazing!

Puffy~Yep, it was a great night!
5.gif
I go to body step at least twice a week and LOVE it! Been doing it for years. It's my favorite workout class. Supposedly you can burn up to 650 calories in the hour if you go "all out" which I do. I think b is probably eating exactly what he needs. Kids don't eat just to eat like adults so he wouldn't eat those snacks if he didn't need them I think. And....it's not like he's a rolly-polly thing!
2.gif
9.gif

QT~Thanks! Yuck about getting bit!! thank goodness I never had to deal with that!

Miss Tayva has a yeast infection!
38.gif
She's not in pain or anything (that we can tell) but it looks HORRIBLE!! Anyone dealt with this? Funny T story: at daycare today one of the littler babies was laying on the floor crying. Tayva walked over to him and started patting him on the back (to soothe him)!! Then she and I were playing with some of the other kids when I went to get her at daycare and the little boy (17 months) bit the other little girl (16 months) and the girl started crying and Tayva gave her a hug!! My 13 month old is already a little mother! So cute!
30.gif

Real quick again...will write more later after Amelia goes down....

She understands me! TGuy taught her how to snap her fingers a couple of weeks ago. I always snapped along with her and said, "snap snap!"

Today she was just lying there and I said, "Amelia, can you snap snap for me?" She looked at me and snapped her fingers.

I was taken aback and I said Amelia, can you clap clap for me (I use the Korean word for clap though). She clapped.

I said, snap snap? More snapping.

I made no hand motions...just asked her to snap or clap. She got it every time.

I know some of you have obviously gone through this, but it''s the weirdest feeling just to talk with no hand motions and have them process it. All of the sudden, I''m not just talking to myself anymore...

I''m not alone.........(cue eerie music)

32.gif

Burk, I actually got NOTHING for T (odd, I know)! I got two Ts ($4 each), a skirt, a tank (dressier), 3 pairs of cargo shorts for DH ($10 each) and a hoodie for him ($7). This was with a 20% coupon. I thought they had lots of cute stuff. They had these cute sun dresses/swim suit cover-ups.

TGal, yay for Ame! I remember how shocked I was when I realized T could understand when I said "dance" or "clap." I feel like a lot happens at 12 months so brace yourself
2.gif

Amelia~Isn''t it fun to realize they are actually picking up stuff?!?! Yay for A!!
36.gif
Like Tacori said, it keeps getting better!

Tacori~Good for you! You did awesome! I think I''ll have to stop in ON Saturday when I''m shopping with my sister. I love their stuff for T and I buy some stuff there for myself sometimes too. Oh, and your T is a binky-lover so you''ll appreciate this: Tayva can now say binky (it sounds more like DEEE) but the little stinker knows where I hide them on the main level and has started to go over to there pointing to the hiding spot saying (more like whining) binky when she starts to get tired! She LOVES her binky!!

tgal-ha, you totally crack me up with the Bart Simpson comment and the spookiness of now knowing you are not alone!! you think the baby teeth seem big, wait until she''s about 7 and her permanent teeth come in. I swear my almost 7 year old''s new teeth seem HUGE right now and they make Jake''s look really tiny
41.gif

thanks to all for the well wishes on our upcoming move. it''s crazy transitioning back and more complicated with wanting to be home but knowing we really need to stay to finish the school year. my mom started crying today already thinking about leaving us on sunday and how much she''s going to miss Jake. I told her she''s the lucky grandparent b/c we''ll be back in just a couple of months and 7 hours away from the one''s we''re only an hour from now. But, it''s still hard for her b/c she saw my kids almost every day for almost 7 years so she really misses them. anyway, we have gotten so much packing done which is great because I really do not like moving.

in Jake news, he''s sick yet again. We were home last weekend and my girls were both coughing on the drive down. My niece who is 9 months had a horrible cold and my sister was sick so I figured Jake would not be spared. He''s got the runny nose and cough. At least I can give the girls meds to help them rest at night, Jake gets a humidifier and that''s it. I''m watching him closely to make sure it doesn''t turn into croup. He is all over the place and into everything. still not close to walking except for cruising along the furniture which is fine with me. he''s my last baby and I''m in no hurry for him to grow up.

Jen, I forgot to say how darling your girls are!!

Diva, I hope James gets better soon. It''s so sad when they are sick.

lili, ooh, I didn''t know that about BRU and photos! Did you get them done for J? And if so, have you posted it? And yeah, I agree...I loved those kimono shirts when Amelia was little. I know, King''s Hawaiian is bad, but I figure it won''t kill her from time to time.

MrsS, same for your precious Jake! Sounds like you got a lot done for your move. Your poor mom...even though she knows it won''t be long until they are closer, it doesn''t make her miss them any less.

I actually wasn''t sure after I wrote it if Bart had really big funky looking teeth, but I think you guys know what I mean. I was really hoping she wouldn''t get my teeth! Bad teeth (crooked, cavity prone, etc) run in my both my mom and dad''s family. TGuy has teeth of steel!

Burk, yeast infection? Yikes. Poor Tayva...she is going to be one tough cookie when she grows up because of all that she has gone through!

Haha Tacori. I am nodding my head. "Yeeeeeeeees, Mama Tacori, I will liiiiiiiiiiiiisteeeeeeen."

puffy, well, I sure know how to jinx it. Amelia chucked a fruity big time tonight over something she had in her hand that she dropped and I "took away" from her. It was, get this, the cardboard tabs on the corner of a fed ex box I had ripped of. She SOBBED and screamed over it. I just stared at her (after trying to calm her down). After she finished throwing the tanty, I gave it back to her. I know she''s going to throw plenty of them in the future...that''s just being a kid, but I am not going to start this "scream and mommy gives in" cycle this early on in the game! What''d B throw is tantrum over today? Inquiring minds wanna know, lol.

QT. haha, Amelia did the same thing with the lowering head thing to eat...except it''s not as funny anymore since Amelia is way older than Meena and STILL doing it.
20.gif
Meena sounds like she''s doing great...and getting a lot of teeth in early it sounds like? She''s only 5 months, right? Or is it 6? And she has top two teeth already?

qt haha, i'm not sure about a genius, but B does a bunch of stuff and i'd like to think that he understands me. poor M!! teething really sucks. wow, B's gums never really bled. hope this teething spell comes to an end soon. you have got to teach M that she can't bite you!! i "taught" B that he can't bite me early on and that's why he NEVER bit me. i would unlatch him and tell him NO and wait a few minutes then let him re-latch.

tacori i personally never weigh myself when i work out only cause i know the scale will tell me that i didn't lose anything, but as long as my clothes feel loser, i'm happy. haha. how do you like your zumba class? is it a beginner or intermediate? that's really good though that you are so dedicated to the gym! B didn't like the child watch too much today. he kinda threw a fit, but the lady said he was ok after awhile.

burk i actually just started step class. the ladies in the class have been doing it for years so they all try to explain the moves and get me going. i don't think i am THAT bad. haha. the class is an intermediate one so it is a bit challenging for me, but i try to keep up and i go all out. i think i may be using too many risers, haha. oh and i can't believe how big his belly has gotten. at least he's tall. haha. i hope T's yeast infection is better soon. poor girl!!

tgal it's the best when they start understanding you. it is such a fun time to teach them new things and watch them learn it. haha, at least amelia called down. B can go at it FOREVER!!! he used to keep at it expecting that i would give in then when he realizes that i'm not even there anymore, he will come look for me and try to get me attention and distract the fact that he was mad before. weirdo!! he was upset earlier cause i "locked" him out of the kitchen. we got a taller gate that he can't climb over or reach the latch to so he was hanging on the gate screaming "mommy in in in in in!" funny kid. i hid myself from him and kinda chuckled. is amelia self feeding herself her beloved puffs?

ETA" MRSS~ i hope jake gets better soon. it is no fun being sick. are your girls doing better? hoping the entire family gets well soon!!

Hehe puffy...I think we''ll have to do the same to Amelia too. The kitchen freaks me out...ours is small and dangerous! That was a great visual you painted...and he definitely let you know what he wanted! Don''t you feel bad (in a good way) when you laugh at their tantrums? Amelia''s had some mini ones in the past (not as bad as today) and it makes me unwillingly laugh when I''m trying to look stern!

I haven''t fed her puffs in awhile. Since she''s started to eat other things, I''d rather give her more healthful stuff. I was thinking today I might try again and not feed them to her...she can only eat them if she pics them up herself. She is still not putting any food into her mouth (or anything else for that matter) but for the first time today, she did take her sippy with two hands and put the spout in her mouth. Someday she''ll get there.

tgal it is so funny, the kitchen is the last place that they should be but it seems like to be the only place they want to go. haha, i do feel bad sometimes when i laugh at his tantrums. he''s screaming his lungs out and i''m chuckling away. the funny thing about his tantrum earlier was i would reach over the gate and ask him if he wanted to be carried and held, and he would shake his head and scream "NO!!" so i walked away and chuckled some more. i even tried to hand him some snacks over the gate but he threw it on the floor. but after his tantrum, he went and picked up his dropped snacks and threw it into his "play garbage can." he is so funny sometimes.
that''s great that she''s eating more!! and she likes it too. and yay for putting the sippy to her mouth. trust me, you are in no rush for her to put EVERYTHING in her mouth!!
in less than 1 month, you''re going to have a 1 year old!! wow, seems so fast.

OMG Tgal--we totally jinxed our kids--Co has been a hideous little monster the past 36 hours. I actually threatened to walk out the door on him yesterday. The two of us SO need a break from one another

Tantrums, complete with the head toss and fist pounding, whining and pointing and yelling (at the top of his tiny lungs) to demand a banana are just a sample of what he has been up to. He is like this with no one else--kills me

I need weaning advice from BFers please! I would like to wean Co off of his 12pm nursing in prep for my return to work.. He currently nurses at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 7 ish. I have started to force water on Co at lunch before he nurses in the hope that he would be less interested in the breast. Somehow he manages a drink most of the water and still take a full nursing.
I started to do some reading on babies and self-weaning, since i was hoping he would take the initiative, but looks like there is very little chance of that happening (from what i''ve read the average age of self weaning is close to 3 years old) um ya, can''t wait for that and Co has never been on a nursing ''strike'' so i am not holding out for the possibility of that either ! So my next strategy is to just decrease the time he spends on the breast over the next few days (maybe from 10, to 8 to 6, 4, 2, min etc.) Is that best? Any advice would be appreciated. Do you think my supply will change dramatically??

Burk, that is so funny. I don''t keep any on our first floor (except in her diaper bag) so we don''t have that issue. When we are playing in her room she will reach in her crib and grab one.

Hope T feels better.

MrsS, sorry to hear Jake is sick! Have you tried baby vicks?

TGal, okay, what''s king''s hawaiian bread? T gets whole wheat white b/c that is what we eat. Truthfully she doesn''t eat that much break. I might try to do the sandwich thing.

Puffy, Zumba is for everyone. There is an 80 year old in the class (adorable) and last time a preggo that looked like she was 9 months along. Of course you can tell there are many with a dance background. I am not one of those! I am bad! Haha. But I am catching on. The moves ARE getting easier but physically it is a workout for sure! Are you thinking of trying it? I think B is totally normal. I know T will have good days and bad days. I just hope the bad days are few and far between. I bet next time will be better for B.

Jas12, I would just not nurse him at 12. Give him lunch instead or a sippy of milk. He is almost 1 right?

Tgal--yay for amelia's 'snap snap;' funny that was Co's first real trick too (i think? geez, i need to write this stuff down!)--don't know if u recall my post about it, but i was just as shocked. It is the coolest thing when they understand the verbal without the action isn't it!

Lili--i don't think i 'll do a trial run of cuppies--too much work, plus i'll be making tons of other stuff too (i make flavored easter eggs so iam going to do those and some cookies and ice cream pops) I can't wait to get started so i'll freeze a lot of it!
I can't believe how many teeth J has--we need a pic of that toothy grin. And you are totally right about kids having a crawl/walk style--didn't really notice until u pointed it out--cute

Qtie--ouch, bleeding gums, poor little thing. Ya, a big b-day is a lot of work, but sigh, like u said, it is expected and i am a total pushover. I'd be lying if i said i didn't like baking etc. for it, but the rest i'll need help with. entertaining is exhausting!

Tacori--i love ON too, but the girl stuff is much nicer. Glad T had fun with you. I think having kids around as entertainment helps for sure.
I looove boy clothing from Mexx, but like you, it kills me to spend a fortune, only for it to get stained.
I don't think i can totally omit the 12 feeding, but i guess i could give it a shot. I haven't introduced any dairy yet and don't know when/if i will ever give him milk, but he does take water well (he gets calcium from tons of greens right now)

Jen--the twins are doing so great. solids already? my how time flies!

Diva--hope james is feeling better!

Burk--is there any illness poor T as not had??! Oh poor girl. I hope the infection clears fast. I luv that you are having a b-day *week*--hope the w/e tops it off!

Jas12, all my friends (and I) quit the feeding cold turkey when we wanted to drop one. Obviously you can't go from 4 feedings to 0 w/o physical problems but you can drop one just fine. I ended up dropping two at once (permanent nursing strike) and was shocked I didn't get a clog (since I had them so easier). I started giving T yogurt around 7 or 8 months so I wasn't too worried about milk. She actually transitioned fine. That girl surprises me sometimes! Did you decide on a theme for his party yet? I have never looked at ON's boy stuff but I love their girl's stuff! I like that it looks like what a 5 year old would wear (just smaller size) not babyish.

Jas12- I agree with tacori that I would just drop the 12pm. give him lunch but no nursing.

tacori- yes, I did the baby vicks, it does seem to help but his cough is just horrible and it wakes him up. he''s not running a fever which is good.

MrsS, poor little Jake! I wish there was something safe to give him. I really like the vicks plug in they make too. Hope he gets better soon. I am so excited for your move! I already told DS we were going on a road trip!

MrsS. & Tac--thanks for the input. I am pretty sure i am too much of a wimp to totally omit it

I don''t know why, but i get really stressed about weaning. DH and i were discussing me going back to work, our summer plans etc. and weaning was part of the conversation and i just burst out in tears. A huge part of me really wants to be able to get some freedom back by weaning, but i guess an equally big part of me doesn''t want to loose that connection either. Co is very good at ''asking'' to be nursed (he crawls to me and pulls up on my chest and pats his own chest) and i think it would be hard to just totally stop at lunch...but i know, i know, it would be fine. Ahhh, i am SUCH a wimp sometimes! If other moms can do it so can i right?
