Diva, glad to see you and thanks for the update on your situation. I hope it works out and you will be able to buy a house soon!

Jas, LOL, after you post, I went upstairs to pull the paci out of Amelia''s mouth!

Ack...missed so much. Got a really bad migrain yesterday and was puking and felt horrible so spent a lot of the day in bed. Real quick I'll do a little catching up:

Mrss~Welcome back! Sorry Jake is waking. Hope moving him into his own room helps you both get some slep!

Ella~What adorable pics! The barrettes are so darn cute. T does the same "v" think K is doing in that one pic. Too cute!

Q~sorry about the diaper rash.

Linda~adorable costumes! I gotta get on the Halloween thing.....never really been into it before T came along.

Curly~I'm so sorry Lily is having hard time. It must break your heart. I'm sure she'll be loving it in no time!

Tacori~I think our two T's would make a fun combo. My T is a total social butterfly too! I went to daycare to visit during my lunch today and at first T was all about me....give her 5 minutes and she was crawling back over to her friends! Oh, and that painting is awesome. You should seriously go into business. I'd buy your stuff!

I know I missed someone. Sorry. So tired.....I'll be back later this weekend. Got a big volleyball tournament tomorrow.

Jas12
Awww...sorry to hear that Co has been waking up often.
Hopefully, it is just a passing phase.
There were a couple of nights that Jadie was waking up on the hour too...
but I''m not complaining cuz it is way better than having her up the whole time like in the daytime
41.gif

Hehe, looks like all the April babies are starting on solids.
It''s fun seeing how all four of our kids are doing things at about the same time.

Tacori
I know you have a thing for dots. Saw it clearly in Tessa''s nursery.
That''s funny about matching all of Tessa''s fall wardrobe to her polka dot pedipeds.
Oh, my sister got Jadie that same pair too, but it''s 1T, so it''ll be a while till she can wear it.

OK, had to jump ahead to comment on Ella''s lil MsK and bigG
41.gif

Can those twins get any cuter?
They look like they are enjoying each other''s company.
They are really lucky being twins since they will have each other as a playmate.

lil Ms.K look so cute with her giddy giddy

30.gif
that high chair shot of your little one, particularly MsK''s grin -- too cute.

Real quick, and then I am off to bed...

Ella and Tacori, sometime back you posted some info on stage 1 foods and which order it might be good to try them. I can''t find that info anywhere and I thought I saved it. Can you repost if you still have it!

See you gals in the morning!

wow, so many posts in the last 2 days.
i''ll have to go back to the other posts later on,
but for now...just want to give Tacori
the link that shows the back side of the giddy giddy clips.
http://www.mysweetmuffin.com/Detail-Clothes.aspx?ID=288

Hehe, I told DH that I wanted to make it myself too....
and he just give me the roll of his eyes and said that J will probably not have it until she''s 2.
It''s insane how much they are charging.
Actually, I can understand the charge for the product itself -- cost for their labor and creativity,
but $10 for shipping those featherweight clips? I think not.

TGal
I ordered the snowman (DH''s favorite) and the red on blue flower.
I wanted the ladybug, duck, cherry, and the garden, but they were out of stock.
Will have to check back on the site when they restock, or maybe i''ll follow Tacori''s suit and make them myself
41.gif

QT
Sorry to hear that M has diaper rash.
TGal is right about Diver''s suggestion to air out her little tush.

9.gif
I know those poopy projectile well.
It''s amazing how far they can shoot huh?
Perhaps you can just air out her bottom for 10 minutes after her poopy diaper change?
That way you know she won''t make one soon.

Hope she gets better soon.

Oh, got pictures of her RE&G party?

lili, I do think Amelia looks a little more like me. Probably when her eyes went from blue to brown.
You crack me up though...I saw your preggo pics. You gained no weight girl! I'm sorry to hear that J is giving you 'payback.' It's hard to believe she's difficult because every pic you post, she's so darn cute. If you hadn't posted that pic way waaay back then of her crying, I would almost believe she never does.

Plus the lower part of her face.
She's a cutie I tell you.
Oh, love that swimsuit
30.gif
30.gif

Anyway, I did too gain weight -- 28 lbs to be exact
41.gif

Of course it helps that I was probably underweight pre-preggo.

Ha, J is a crier and screamer for sure.
She has what my niece called a "fake cry" or "tearless cry".
I should post some of her crying pictures so you can see...

ETA: hehe, i saw that skull clip too when i was searching for other felt snap clips.
found many sites that does baby clips, but i think the giddy giddy design and workmanship is the best.

Jas12, no worries. I miss stuff too. That website is SO helpful though. This is the only thread I am faithful too than when I have time I branch out. Hopefully Co will sleep for yo soon.

Diva, sounds like you are doing great. Good luck with the move!

TGal, you are so sweet. My friend gave me the picture that was *maybe* 1" x 1" per painting. (from the magazine). The leaf was the first one I did. I literally took the paintbrush and painted. I *HATE* ugly pencil lines (which are so hard to get rid of!) so I thought I would freehand them. DH freaked me out and said there was NO way I could do that for the others. So I did lightly draw the other designs on the canvases before hand (more of a sketch than an exact design) and went to town. Also I don''t like brush strokes for this kind of design so I have to do 2-3 coats of pink paint. The original designs (through PBK) is fabric according to the description. Mine did turn out slightly different which I expected since they are hand painted not traced but my friend is 100% thrilled. Now that my talent has been exposed I am going to help my other friend paint mountains, sky, and a road in her toddler''s room (he has a race car toddler bed).

RE stage 1 food: I started ALL veggies first. I *think* peas was the first I tried. My doctor said to ignore the color theory. For the next baby I think I would try sweet potatoes first. Please wait on the fruit though. My neighbor started fruit first and now her boys won''t eat veggies. Tessa could care less. She just wants food. Last night I asked DH what he gave her to eat (even though I was in our kitchen and could not see either of them). He got all shocked and was like "how did you know I gave her something?!?" Her "MmmmMmmMmm" gave it away! Haha. She is a noisy eater. Remember the first month or so might be hard, at least it was for me.

Burk, the Ts would have so much fun together. They would get in trouble for sure. Tessa is so outgoing, she''ll crawl over anyone to get where she wants to go. It was kind of funny. My friend says the same thing. Not sure I am ready for mass production though!
2.gif
Plus I would have NO idea how to price them. Each painting probably took me 2-3 hours. Good luck with your tournament!

lili, I am a dot/circle whore. I keep thinking there WILL come to say when I am sick of them but it hasn''t happened yet. Carter''s as some really cute brown (with dot) clothes for winter/fall. They will look perfect with her shoes
27.gif

Thanks for the link! Perfect! So they just use those little hair clips but cover the top with the felt...hmmmm...I think you can buy those anywhere. You totally should make your own too!

TGal, not sure if you're making or buying food, but www.wholesomebabyfood.com is an excellent resource -- more for making food but has good info on baby food in general, including when you can give certain foods (due to allergies, etc.), why you don't give milk before 12 months but cheese/yogurt are OK, etc. It also shows you just how easy it is to make your own baby food. I live by this site!!!

For us, in the beginning we alternated veggies and fruits: sweet potatoes, pears, green beans, banana, peas, applesauce, carrots ... I think they say to start with the "orange" veggies first (sweet potatoes, carrots, squashes) but I don't really think that matters too much. As for startng with all veggies instead of any fruits, Katelyn actually *prefers* veggies over fruits, so I think it just depends on the kid! She's much rather eat green beans than peaches (the weirdo).

Burk, a big fat UGH on the migraine! Hope you're feeling better today - migraines are the worst!
14.gif

Tacori, those paintings are awesome, lady!! Gah, our nursery is so boring and artless. I need to get a cute rug (but am not paying $400 for the PBK one that matches their room) ...

MrsS, welcome back!!! Look forward to pics of Jake eating - yahoo!

Q, are you sure M has just a diaper rash and not a yeast infection? Did the dr. give you an anti-fungal cream? If the rash is still there and bright red in another day or two, I'd call and ask about that - you can usually just use an OTC cream like Lotrimin. And make sure to DRY DRY DRY the area well before you put on a diaper! Never heard about the baking soda. I did hear that you can use Pepto Bismol (did I hear that here?) though because a diaper rash is basically caused by acid in the poop and PB cuts acid. Never tried that though. Good luck!

re: pregg/mommy threads ... I think, as with most things, you relate to people who are going through the same experience you are at the same time. For me, I'm SO far removed from pregnancy now that I don't relate much to the preggos anymore. Not that I don't care about their pregnancies - I do!! - and not that I'm not excited for them - I am!!! - just that the day-to-day aspects of pregnancy don't apply to me anymore. I skim that thread, looking to see how close people are to L&D but I don't really read all the posts all that closely. I wish I could be more help there but pregnancy is honestly just a distant memory to me now - so much has happened since then that I can't remember all the details of it (nor do I want to!). I ADORE this thread and all the mommies in it and I am excited to see the new mommies when they join ... but to be honest, the older my babies get, the harder it is for me to relate to mommies of brand spankin' new babies, you know? I don't think that the thread will become cliquish (and I don't think it ever has been? But then again, I've been on it since pretty early on), but I think it's naturally going to have "classes" and that yes, the seniors (me, Tacori, Diver, Burk, Curly) will have a certain connection because of our babies' ages; and then juniors (TGal, Lili, MrsS, Bobo, Jas) will have their connection; the sophmores (Qtiekiki, Diva) theirs; and the freshman (to come!) will have theirs. BUT I think that as long as we all support each other and keep this thread a positive place, then that's OK. As long as everyone posts photos of their cuties, I'll allow you all to stay here
2.gif

ETA: I'm sure I left some mommies out of the lists above, but that was just off the top of my (tired) head, so apologies if I left you out!

thanks for the welcome back gals. It''s nice to be back in touch with life, I felt so out of it..

tacori- your paintings are just amazing. I don''t have the skill or patience to do any type of art or craft.

tgal-i agree with tacori that I always started my kids on the veggies first. I think I started with carrots first. It''s funny though, with my first I did the whole one at a time for a week to rule out allergies thing. With my second I was so much more laid back I just fed her whatever jar I grabbed out of the cabinet but still got through all the veggies b/f doing the fruits. I never did the babyfood meat..jarred meat just kinda grosses me out so when the time came for meats I just cut up whatever we were eating really, really tiny and fed it to them that way.

ella-you poor thing with the fan issue. Is there anyway to get one of the circle gates to keep around the fans? I''ve seen people use them around their Christmas trees etc. There is just no way to teach them that the fans aren''t safe at their age. of course you can try and tell them no, but to expect them to get it isn''t going to happen. i hope you can come up with a solution. at least it will be cooler soon where you might not have to use them?q

Q- air is the best thing you can do for DR. maybe wait until right after she goes and then give her the open air time? My ped. says to slather on the diaper rash clean like you are icing a cake and when you change a diaper just lightly clean off anything stinky but try to leave a thin layer of the cream and then reapply another icing layer. at the nightly bath wash them clean and reapply.

snlee, i''''ll check out the preggo thread to see if i can help with you question.

the team april babies are all going on 5 months...I hope Jas, lili and t-gal will post some 5 month pics!

tgal- love the pics of Amelia in the swimsuit. I swear she looks like she could be a sister to my neice. Here''s a pic of my sisters daughter...

adniece.jpg

oh real quick re: the splitting the thread again. I''d be up for whatever. I think we should just wait and see how it plays out once some of the new mommies get here. If it starts to get overwhelming and too big then we can start another thread but I think we should at least try to stay as one for now if we can
1.gif

Tgal--i just ordered the book The baby''s table. I like it. It has great recipes and explains when to introduce what foods. here''s a link to amazon
Book
I apologize if it has been posted already-haha

As tacori mentioned some babies won''t take fruits after veggies and although my books (and a few others i have) say there is no evidence of that i think it only makes sense that if your kid has a sweet tooth bananas are going to be more appealing than squash or something. I think i''ll do veg first just to be ''safe''. Veggies are my project this week cuz i have so much fruit frozen right now.

tacori--oh how i love dots as well. Cohen''s nursery does have a few dot things (despite being a boy) but i know i would be over the top if i had a girl. When i bought my wedding dress with dots i wondered if i would hate it later but i think the swiss dot pattern is classic. Something so appealing about dots?!
I think u need to start a baby-nursery art business on the side! I wonder if Tessa will be an artist like you. My mom, grandfather and sister are all amazingly talented artists but that gene completely skipped me-boo. I am super impressed with those gifted in visual arts.

Ella, you said exactly what I was feeling (only better!) Hopefully your PBK''s rug will go on sale soon!

MrsS, your niece is adorable!

Jas12, I already can''t wait to draw with T. Whenever I babysat the kids were always amazed what I could draw for them. I should post the painting I did for a painting class when I was in college...circles galore! It''s really the only painting I have in my house (besides the nursery). I really should paint/draw more.

tacori- my 6 year old loves to draw. she is so creative and pays really close attention to details. she drew a picture of me in our kitchen sitting at my computer and the details were amazing. she even drew the little apple on my computer and a small candy dish I had set on top of our fridge. My parents bought her an art board last Christmas, one side is a dry erase and the other side is a chalk board and she draws on it all the time. she''ll sit for hours coloring/painting etc. I really want to find some art classes for her b/c I think she could really have a talent and want to capitalize on her interest.
Tessa will have blast doing art projects with you when she''s older. She''ll probably turn in the coolest projects for school...

Tacori--my mom always has trouble finding time to paint. It seems like a lot of work, even if it is pleasurable (messy, lots to set up etc.) my grandfather has a small studio and paints each night which is think is really neat. I am sure you''ll spend hours drawing with Tessa.

Tgal--forgot to update u on the paci-detox this morning-hehe. Co was up many times again last night. I lost my patience at 4 am and woke up Charlie who tried to get him down for 30 mins without it, but it didn''t work. I did have success this morning for his nap. He cried/fussed for 15 min and just when i was going to give in (and pull it out later) i saw him stick his fingers into his mouth, suck and then fall asleep. Unfortunately he didn''t understand to keep the fingers in his mouth so he wailed when he pulled his hand away. I just stroked his head and he did eventually fall asleep. Small successes. It''s going to be quite the process.

MrsS, my parents always put me in extra art classes too. Then when I was older (in high school) I took some at our local art museum which was a wonderful experience. Your daughter sounds like me. I was ALWAYS drawing when I was younger and my stuff was always detailed too. Art is a lot like sports. The more you do, practice, learn, the better you are.

Jas12, you are right about the set up. I don''t use oil paint anymore b/c I just cannot be bothered with the clean-up
14.gif

Do you think Co will be a thumb sucker?

Jas12- good luck gal with the paci weaning. Lily never became a thumb sucker despite not using a paci so hopefully cohen won''t either. of course she does have a special affection for a certain blanket...the jury is still out on Jake but I''m hoping he doesn''t become one either. i''d much rather have the kid be attached to a paci than a thumb because you can at least at some point take the paci''s away. today when i dropped lily off at preschool there was a 3/4 year old girl walking in to her class with a paci in her mouth. It''s hard to break them but I think once they are going to school it''s time for the paci to go.

Re solids: we consulted with our allergist before starting T due to her food intolerance and he recommended sweet potatoes and pears first. We do fruit mixed in with cereal. Most people usually start with applesauce and my doctor said pears are less likely to have an intolerance/allergy. Ironically, when I did introduce applesauce T showed signs of intolerance so we don't do any apple in anything now. I think it does depend on the kid as far as what they'll eat because Tayva will not eat bananas. Hates them. But, she will eat any veggie I put in front of her. I would also recommend mixing the cereal with the fruit especially at first.

I'll be back.....

OK, real quick as I am on a conference call (on mute, thank goodness). I just wanted to say...

Woah, yeah, mrss, I agree. Normally when people say someone lookes like so and so, I think (yeah whatever), but I looked at the photo and totally so my daugther! So obviously I think your niece is a doll...lol...

I so see Amelia in Mrss's niece! Before I read what Mrss posted I was so confused about why she was posting a pic of Amelia!!

I agree on paci vs thumb sucker. I can take the paci away. Thumb is attached forever.

Tacori~ I think the artwork is so beautiful...I don't know what you'd charge either. But, I WANT something like that for when T gets a big girl room!
9.gif

OK, gonna post some pics. First is a side by side of A and MrsS''s niece. Even I gotta say, it''s pretty freaky...proof positive that my kid looks way more white than Korean! (Or MrsS''s niece must have stealth Korean in her). MrsS, tell your sis her daughter''s got a twin!

PStwinsfreaky.jpg

The above pic was on Amelia''s 5 month bday, so I will also double as the 5 month pic to post here.

Here''s another of her feeding (same day, same series of pics). This one makes me laugh because she looks really grumpy.

IMG_1494a.jpg

And here''s my girl in her BOB, which as you all know, I love. She''s no longer reclining all the way back in it and enjoying her new view.

IMG_1510a.jpg

lili, you definitely have to post those cry pics...J makes the best faces!

Tacori, wow, still can''t get over it...I''d love to see more of your work, so please post. I''d buy it for sure...beautiful stuff.

"Senior" (hehehe) mamas, thanks for your food tips. Will look at the sites posted tonight and form a plan of attack! hee hee. I think I willl do sweet potatoes first...might be more enjoyable for her, but it''s still a veg. I think I will hold off on fruit because my friend''s kid had the same issue where he didn''t like veg since she gave him lots of fruit to start. Tacori, what''s the color theory again? I can always go google it too.

Jas, thanks for the update...just wish it was better for ya. I think we had been doing the same thing with paci use, but isn''t it wild how different babies react in different ways? TGuy wants to keep using it and doesn''t see the harm in it. I don''t either, but I do worry that she will get more and more attached to it. She can now keep it in her mouth for entire nap, which she never used to do.

Re, This thread...sounds like we are all kosher to go with the flow!

TGal: Amelia is absolutely adorable. Please give her a smoochy for me.

I think you can totally make your own clips. You can even follow the same designs. I don''t think it would be that difficult. Plus they are small so it shouldn''t take that much time to hand stitch them.

btw, lili, which site did you buy the clips from? I can keep you in the loop when mom4life puts in their restock order...

tgal, I showed my sister pics of amelia a while back in this thread and she thought it was uncanny how similar they look. she emailed me the pic I posted to show you. the funny thing is both my sister and her hubby have Irish blood lines and we think their baby looks Korean
3.gif
i will agree with you that both baby girls are 100% adorable.

love the pics of Amelia eating..oh and she totally looks like my niece in the BOB pic too...

my highchair is still in TN so I had to feed Jake while holding him on my lap but here's one of him...
