PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

All the Christmas baby photos are soooo cute!
30.gif
Mandarine, I love that last one of your twins and your pup.
9.gif
Your little boys are growing up so fast! I love their long eyelashes!

About DH''s - it''s only been a week and a half but I can relate! Dalila woke up for a feeding last night at 3:00 am. I fed her, changed her, soothed her, and snuck her back in her cot by 4:00 am -marvelling at my quick turn-around time, and the fact that I''d finally be able to get an extra hour''s sleep that night (she doesn''t usually go back to sleep until 5:00 am). DH comes in t 4:00 am from a gig, and proceeds to walk to the crib and kiss Dalila, all the while I''m whispering loudly "Noooooooo.....!!!".
23.gif
He''s like, "It''s ok, hon, I''m just giving her a good nite kiss". Then he comes back in the room after 15 minutes and proceeds to lift her out of her cot to cuddle with her!!!
29.gif
I''m like, "What are you doing? You''ll wake her up!!" He ignores me, cuddles with her, and then brings her back to her crib after 15 minutes. Of course, by this time Dalila is all bright-eyed and bubbly, and starts howling the minute he sets her down. After trying to comfort her for a few minutes, he hands her to me sheepishly and then goes..."Uhm...I think she''s hungry...."""
32.gif
I was so mad! Guess who had to be up until 5:00 am trying to get her back to sleep? Me! And guess who was happily snoring next to me on the bed while I did that?? DH!!!
29.gif
Ugh!!!!

fiery - just leave the legs off the music table and sit it on the floor. Since Sophia''s sitting, shell be able to play with it that way. Kyle loved his at that stage

FI was a total jerk for a few months but he never messed with her sleep. He is finally learning how to put her to sleep since before he would leave it to the swing and bouncer
20.gif
. The other night I heard her giggling and he was frustrated because she wouldn''t sleep. I''m like duh! She''s playing. Maybe it makes me a mean mommy but night time is not playtime with me. I don''t even talk to her or make eye contact because as soon as she locks eyes, she''s a giggling mess.

Holy cuteness in this thread. LOVE all the pics ladies!!

MG - Dishwasher?! Maybe I shouldn''t ask...

PG - Sorry that your night did not go as planned. Hope you like your present tonight!

Sha - ugh. I''m so sorry. If he doesn''t learn anything from it, I''d be tempted to let him deal with the consequences next time while I went back to sleep.

hey ladies. Been a crazy 2 weeks since being back at work...our little guy has been sick since last Wednesday, after going to the doctor 3 times, we found out today he has bronchitis
39.gif
So he''s on a steroid and antibiotics. Totally blows...I hate having him on this stuff so young, but he needs to get better. My Dh has to work from home all next week because our doctor wants him out until he''s finish the antibiotic which will be late next week. The joys of being a working mommy
7.gif

Fiery - we got Lex the same music table! I can''t wait for him to use it
9.gif

I know I missed a lot of you..I''m sorry!

Love all of the new pics though!!

Oh no! Poor Lex
7.gif
. Did they give him a nebulizer?

yeah we tried that first, but he''s just NOT having it. And he kept getting worse, today he was having difficulty breathing (a LOT of wheezing), and he hasn''t been eating like usual. So I took him back today and they decided to do an oral steroid instead w/ the antibiotic because now it is bronchitis, where as early this week it was just chest congestion. Hope he gets better soon! Having a sick baby is no fun

I hope he gets better too

Mandy, your photos are just precious! How on earth did you get hoodies on 2 babies and then get them to sleep at the same time! And I love the greeting on your Xmas card :). Glad to hear things are better with your DH too! Oh and have to say I''m amazed you have dinner ready most nights! I think I''ve done that maybe a dozen times in a year! DH cooks or we order out or my mom cooks and I help...

Awww... cuteness overload. All the babies are so adorable in the holiday pics.

CDT, bronchitis, ick! So sorry!

We had a nice anniversary dinner, and the company Christmas party was fine. I took Claire to the mall and bought a new shirt to wear. Packing her up and driving 20 minutes out to the suburbs was as time consuming as I thought it would be, but at least I did it, ya know? If I want more than an hour to shop, though, I''ll either have to feed her there or bring a bottle.

I got my push/anniversary present! It''s a 0.24 J VS2 with beautiful arrows. If you recall, the jeweler suggested 4 diamonds, and 3 of them scored between 3 and 6 on the HCA, so I picked the one that scored 1.1. DH said the jeweler went on and on about how beautiful the diamond was as though he were a bit surprised himself. He even gave us a hearts and arrows viewer, one of the really nice ones, not like my plastic IdealScope with its little cardboard insert. I like this guy! Oh, and DH is really excited about his new iPod, recovering the old one notwithstanding.

No prob! It's the Graco Bumper Jumper. H loves it.

(Haven't had much time to catch up with everyone, will do so ASAP!)

THANK YOU Ebree!!!

PhxGirl- Beautiful ring (and picture).

I LOVE the push present Phoenix!

Mine do it too. We use the special overnight diapers. At least with us the amount of liquid just is too much for regular diapers to handle.

I have been using the overnight diapers, and a size bigger than what he wears during the day
14.gif
. He waits until he sleeps to pee!

Mustang, I just had to chuckle because we''re in the same situation! He''s wearing 3''s during the day and 4''s (overnights) at night and once in a while we''ll get an overflow! I swear they must be dreaming about water or something. I have to overlap the tabs or else that''s when I find he leaks out the top.

Hi to everyone else! Thanks for all the napping advice. Some days are better then others. Hopefully once we''re done with these new batch of teeth he''ll get back into some type of groove.

Sorry--tiny me-centric post.

The sleep sack continues to score for us! 3 nights in a row now he has slept for 4 hours straight, and fell asleep at 10 p.m. on the dot. He also quickly falls asleep during his night feedings (2:30 and again 5:30). There will be a few sleep sacks under the tree this year for him!

My sister came over and spent the night so that my husband and I could get a full night of sleep. He behaved for her and followed the same sleep pattern so she was able to sleep also. We definitely appreciated her help. It was nice to sleep for such a long stretch of time.

Fiery--we took those D A D pictures today! Can''t wait for him to see them. Should be in the mail in the next few days. I can''t post them right now though because my husband might see them. They turned out pretty cute---but I will probably have to update on Father''s Day---as it is hard to get good poses out of a 6 week old!

Speaking of which---I can''t believe he is 6 weeks old! He is out of the newborn diapers...
39.gif
. He had a couple of blow out diapers so we officially had to move up. One of his blow out diapers was all over my sister! It was when we were doing his christmas pictures--so it went all over the carpet, my sisters shoes and also his santa suit.

Pg---Beautiful push present! I''m getting a Tiffany necklace with the letter E etched in it I think for Christmas. I was thinking of either that or getting some kinda of opal necklace (Opal is BS for October)...will have to wait to be surprised by the husband.

CDT--Ugh Bronchitis!

Hope all the other mommies are doing well!

Uggghhh, today is not Daisy''s day...

First, she''s got a horrible cough - the sort where it sounds like she needs to cough something up, but of course she can''t. I''ve rung my father who told me to have a hot steamy bath with her and give her some Calpol if she''s miserable and to call him if she gets a fever. She seems perfectly happy and the bath seemed to help, but still sounds terrible.

Secondly - she finally succeeded in falling off our bed... she''s been trying for ages and this time I didn''t grab her in time and she went splat on the floor. Nothing broken, cut or bruised but she burst into tears, then started coughing and succeeded in throwing up all over our bed. I just said ''Oh dear, Daisy went bump'' and she started laughing...
33.gif

Finally, I just got her up after she woke up from her nap and while carrying her through to the sitting room she managed to whack her head on the door - so Daisy went bump again!
20.gif
My poor bear!

I took her to see Father Christmas yesterday - she sat firmly on MY knee, but was very interested in the fur on his cuffs - and then in the evening to the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. It was lovely, done like a Bavarian village with beautiful lights and lots of fun things for kids. I put her in a furry snowsuit and then in the mei tai which was great - it was so packed a stroller would have been a total PITA and she was rather overwhelmed and clung on to me very tightly! She also had spicy bratwurst and hot doughnuts for supper which went down rather quickly!

Pandora, ugh, I hope Daisy recovers soon! I think if Claire threw up all over the bed I would have said something more colorful than "Oh dear."
2.gif
You are a good mommy!

Tao, I''m so glad the sleepsack success wasn''t a fluke!

Claire hasn''t quite been herself since she got her shots on Thursday, just crying more than usual. She seems to be gassy.

But she was still a superstar who went 8 hours and 15 minutes between feeds last night! I pumped 2.5 hours after feeding her the last time, so I was able to avoid engorgement city. Despite this wonderful development, I''ve still just been exhausted recently. I need to be better about napping. I feel like I "shouldn''t" be so tired when my 7 week old is sleeping so well, but I have the hardest time falling back asleep after I feed her in the middle of the night, and we don''t quite have the timing right for her long stretch to correspond exactly with our sleeping schedule, so we''re still waking up at 4 a.m.

I also had to scale back on my working out because last weekend I hurt my knees doing a Firm DVD, and then I made myself run even though they hurt, so I''ve had to spend the last week + recovering. I''ve done a couple of knee-friendly DVDs but no running or walking. Boo.

My working out is supposed to start today....baby won''t nap right now though...so I wound up turning some music on and dancing around like a fool!

Pandora: Ugh to the bad day! It can''t get any worse, right???

Pandora - poor Daisy and her bumps!

Well, I bought some size 5 pampers overnight diapers (we were using huggies), and no leaks last night. They look giant on him, but if it works it''s worth it!

And we finally made some progress on Kyle putting food in his mouth. I was begining to worry we''d have issues like Tgal did with Amelia. Kyle has refused to put puffs, cherios, or anything food related in his own mouth (other than teething biscuts). He''d sit there like a bird and wait for us to put it in for him. Yesterday I finally got him to put a puff in. I clapped and smiled to encourage him, and he got a few more in there. It''s about time!

My little man is 10 months old
8.gif
, they grow up too fast!

These little santa/holiday babies are so cute! They''ve brightened my Monday morning.
9.gif

cdt- How''s Lex feeling? Bronchitis is rough. I hope he''s doing much better.

phoenixgirl- LOVE your push present. That diamond is gorgeous, and it looks perfect on your hand (from your SMTR pics). I hope your knee feels better.

tao- Time flies, doesn''t it? Six weeks seems so long ago.

Pandora- Poor Daisy! I''m glad to hear she was laughing soon after. They''re resilient little monkeys, aren''t they?

Mustang- That''s great news! Yay, Kyle!
36.gif

Here''s my little santa. An outtake from this weekend''s DIY family portraits. Note: His costume was sized 9 months, and the santa hat barely fit over his head!

CDT - poor little guy. G HATED the nebulizer and at times we had to have three people restraining him during treatments.
6.gif
Hope he gets better soon!!

PG - beautiful present!
30.gif

Pandora - Poor little Daisy. When it rains, it pours, doesn''t it. Father Christmas sounds like it was a lot of fun at least.

Ebree - how cute!

Overnight diapers - I know that it''s different with cloth, but we double-diaper him with prefolds which means that he gets to be in a diaper cover geared towards 11-14 kg babies. One of my friends saw him once in this get-up and told him that they make songs about babies like him, and then started singing Baby Got Back or something like that. LOL. I''ll take a picture tonight if I can remember.

We left George with a babysitter for the first time last night (previously it''s always been people he knows - family or daycare) and he did terribly. In 6 hours, he drank less than 1 oz, refused to take a nap, and spent most of the time crying. The babysitter took it like a champ though.

He''s gotten a lot better about eating in the past week - much more coordinated with getting stuff in his mouth, much more pronounced pincer grasp, better chewing.
