PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

puffy, your lucky lady, can''t believe Noah is STTN already. I''m doing well, beside the MS...little B is doing good, still not eating but I guess that''s him. Since this year''s valentine is also chinese new year, we will spend it at my MIL''s house.

Tacori, good luck with the interview! You will do great. Love reading your Tessa story...glad she had a great day at school today.

Burk, I''m feeling like crap to be honest...MS is really kicking my butt. I can''t believe you are going to the hospital tomorrow! Glad Tayva is feeling better.
 
mrss~Yay for Jake waking later. Sounds like it is working out well and an extra hour of sleep has to feel great!!

QT~Thanks! So glad all is well with you! I bet it was scary when J threw up out his mouth and nose...hopefully it doesn''t happen again. Sounds like M is adjusting well. She''s still young so she may become a helper yet!

Poor T had a rough few days, but we seem to be through the worst of it. She will be able to come to the hospital. I''m so glad she''s feeling better and sounding better b/c even though she''s not contagious I would have felt horrible having her at the hospital coughing the way she was coughing and looking the way she did (red eyes, running nose, ect).

Tacori~So cute Miss T is making such an impression at school! Isn''t it funny how they talk about their friends constantly? We are doing cytotek (I think that''s right) tomorrow night. We went straight to pitocin my last induction so I don''t really know what to expect. You did cervidel right?

Morning sickness is no fun and it''s even worse when you have a toddler! Hang in there!

MIL is super sick so our plans for her and FIL to come watch T tomorrow night and Friday is falling through. This is where an induction is a great thing because I''ve been able to figure out a back-up plan. T took a 4 hour nap today and woke up pretty crabby. I think all the missed sleep is catching up to her. Tomorrow is her Valentine''s party at school so I want to take her for at least a couple hours because we did her valentine''s today (makes me feel like she''s sooo old).

I did. It was enough to throw me into labor. They insert it like a (REALLY uncomfortable) tampon. I can''t remember the times *but* they planned on taking it out around 8 am (I think it is for 12 hours so maybe they put it in at 8 pm) and have me shower and then start the pitocin. Around 4 am is when my labor started. My water even broke on its own. Not sure if cyotek is similar. I was closed up tighter than a vault so cervidel is powerful stuff! Can''t wait to hear all about it!

Bobo, hope you feel better. Those early days were rough for me too.
 
Tacori~Interesting that the cervidel was so powerful for you. My OB''s plan is very similar to what yours was-start cytotek around 8pm and pitocin around 8am the next morning if needed. I wonder if I''ll make it till 8am??? I''ll def. keep you posted!

Burk – doesn’t it feel odd to be able to say “I’m going to have the baby tomorrow”. I was induced last year on the 12th, I hope it all goes smoothly for you and Kade can come out and play.


Mrssalvo – woohoo for Jake sleeping a bit longer.


Qt – I’m more of a pendant person to, I’m sure you’ll find something perfect to symbolize your new baby.


Puffy – you’ve got a great sleeper there! I hope he keeps it up.


I’m in denial that my baby is going to be 1 tomorrow, it goes by so fast. He’s still pretending he can’t walk, little stinker. He has his 12 month appointment with the pedi on Monday, did any of your LOs have reactions to the 12 month shots? He did fine with all the previous ones, but my nephew had a seizure after his 12 or 15 months round (I don’t remember which), so it makes me a bit nervous, although not enough to postpone them.
 
Mgal~I don''t think I knew you were induced. Our K''s will probably share a birthday! Cool. My T has never had reactions to any of her shots aside from a slight fever here or there.

MGal, only good is to come. I know it is difficult that they grow so fast *but* you have so much to look forward to. T has never had reactions from shots. I would tell your pedi your concerns.
 
Burk - I didn''t really join the pregnancy/mommy threads until Kyle was 3 months. My due date was 2/10, and the doc was going on vacation the next week, so she scheduled an inducement. I was 4cm and 80% effaced, so we didn''t think it would take much pitocin to put me into labor. Boy were we wrong! I didn''t start contractions until 3 hours in, made it to 8cm before asking for an epi, and then had a c-section at 11pm after 2 hours of pushing. Kyle was facing the wrong way and couldn''t fit out. To make it even more fun I got blood poisening the next week and was in ICU for 5 days without Kyle.

I hope your inducement goes better than mine did!
 
tacori haha...your T seriously makes me laugh. yeah, noah is a big boy, but i''ll take him being a big boy if that means he''ll sleep! haha. B was almost 11 lbs at 1 month, so i figure they''ll be around the same size.

bobo sorry, i had no idea!! many congrats to you and your hubby!

burk good luck tomorrow! keep us posted please. you are lucky that T gets to go see you while you are in the hospital.

mg happy early birthday to your little man. any plans for tomorrow?

MG, little B always get a fever for 24 hours after his vaccine. He was hospitalized for Kawasaki disease when he was 8 months old so his 12 months round was postpone for a year. After his hospital stay, I spaced out his remaining vaccines just so I feel better about it. You can talked to your pedi about it if spacing out the vaccine will make u feel less nervous.

Thanks puffy, I only went public with the news on FB and now here.

I asked my OB if he will do cervadil or something similar for my induction, and he said "no, you don't want that nasty stuffs." So I think it's pretty strong stuff.

MG
M didn't have any reactions to her 12 months shots. She had fever after shots when she was under 6 months, but she doesn't fever with shots after that.
Wow you had a pretty tough L&D with Kyle.

How nice that Noah is STTN already. M slept 5-6 hours stretch at 3 weeks, and she was 10lbs 3oz at 1 month (gained more than 3lbs in a month). I hope J follows the same track. LOL.

What are you Valentine's Day plan, Mommies?
Since Chinese New Year is the same day as V day, we'll probably just be having a lot of visitors over. I am not supposed to be going out since I just gave birth, plus I don't like going out on the actual Valentine's Day b/c of the set menus at a lot of restaurants and the crowds. So I think we'll take a rain check on a nice dinner for another day.

ETA: Did anyone ever hear from lili? I am worried about her. She's never been gone for so long.

QT - we have the in-laws coming this weekend, but at least they''ll probably leave by noon on Sunday, so we might make it out to lunch. I try not to go out to dinner for V-day since it can get so crazy out there. There''s a sushi place I''ve been wanting to try

, I''ll have to kiss up to DH to get him in the door though. And I have a "spa day" booked for next Saturday. I''m sooo looking forward to it! I scored a deal for a massage, facial, scalp treatment and a hair cut for $85.
 
The spa day sounds wonderful, and what a deal you got for $85.
And the sushi place sounds yummy too; sushi is one of my favorite food. Better butter up your DH. LOL.

qt we''ll be doing the same on valentine''s day...a bunch of visitors. but most will be my family and i have no problem telling them to leave. haha. we''ll most likely celebrate valentine''s day with just a dinner at home, nothing fancy and a movie...my favorite, dinner and a movie and a gift of course. haha. i hope jaron follows in his big sister''s footsteps also and sleeps well. how is M sleeping in her bed?

where is lili...hope she is ok.
 
Has anyone had experience with a toddler who has a canker sore? I notice a little one on C''s inside lip. I am prone to them myself, but never thought they''d happen so young? And I know they can be painful..poor thing.

She also is becoming a fussy eater (spits chicken out)--I hope it''s the canker sore and not sign of things to come!

CONGRATS BOBO!! hope the m/s lifts for you soon. i''m JUST about at the end of the 1st trimester, and it''s finally getting a bit better for me...

MGAL: happy birthday to kyle! it''s such a bittersweet milestone. hope you guys have a GREAT day! coby hasn''t had any problem with any of his shots. the 1 year appt was tough b/c they get a TON at the same time, but no problems for us (other than angry baby for a few minutes!)

everything is decent on my end. coby''s sleeping is all over the place unfortunately. dh and i got in a big fight this morning about it. yesterday coby fell asleep in the car on the way down to lunch (most of his naps happen in the car now b/c he REFUSES to sleep in his crib during the day--disaster!), and i decided to wake him up for lunch, thinking he would sleep afterwards. well, no such luck. he basically went ALL day without a nap, and needless to say, he was exhausted by about 5pm. i tried to feed him dinner, but i think he was just too tired to eat. he ended up passing out around 6:15 or so (he normally goes down around 7:30ish). anyway, apparently he was up all night...dh and i have been sleeping in separate rooms so only one of us has to deal with coby during the night (teething, sickness, etc have gotten us in a BAD routine). dh was PISSED at me b/c i screwed up his sleeping by waking him up yesterday and then putting him down to sleep without dinner!! arrrgh...sometimes you can never do right. i TRIED to feed him...he just wouldn''t eat ANYTHING (and we went through about a million things!).

anyway, we are off to vancouver on saturday. NOT looking forward to the flight and then the drive from seattle. hopefully coby will behave! TACORI--i bought a dvd player and rented a few sesame street and baby einstein videos from the library. fingers crossed that it works!!!

tacori, LIA: I actually now remember C falling in her playroom and had a v. slight lip bleed from it last week. I''m thinking that''s where the canker sore originated. Still not fun for C but at least I know where it came from and that it was external.

tacori: hmm, yea maybe give it a try? (re: lili). I thought of it too but then also wondered if it was stalkerish!! I mean all of us take breaks from PS but lili never did!
