Okay, Maise. Let's talk swimming with your mouth open. Taking a leisurely swim, cooling off in other people's sweat, ass water, and yoo hoo water too. You can see the people blowing their snot out and spitting out the water that got in their mouths first. Now as you're swimming, you turn your head to breathe, and accidentally swallow some water. Wait, what was that thickness? It went down your throat. You feel it coming back up. You know it was someone's lugi. If you let it come back out, it'll be in your mouth again! You either swallow it hard to keep it down or let it swish in your mouth again. nom nom!

I am officially freaked out. There are so many things you could have picked to try and gross me out. But you did in fact pick the one thing I a m completely phobic about!!! I never go swimming for that exact reason. I am terrified of swimming pools. Won't even dangle my feet in one.
