PSA: Mini stack rings at Sheldon Speyer are SO YUMMY!

Oh, amn - they are NICE! I was shoppngi last ngiht and spyed something I liked in a jewlery store window, and I went in and tried all of these cute mini stack rings - they were great! I can''t post pics right now, but here''s the link:

My goal (as you may have read on my other post) is to get a braided wedding band and then stack a few above and below it. - they were so CUTE!!!!

I love so many of the Sheldon Speyer rings, but did not get to see the Mini rings yet.
Sorry to ask, but do you know the general price range your jeweler was charging? I was wondering how they compare to the repros I see on Fay Cullen and Antique E-rings......

I know that the sapphire one was platinum and the tag said about $1200. (I want 2!!) but i think that she would have given me a better price then what the tag said.

I went into a store with a friend a few days ago and a saleswoman had on what looked like a fascinating right hand ring. It turned out to be 14 mini bands with another, slightly different, thin diamond band between them. It flashed blue and pink. She said the bands were from Cartier and were designed by an Armenian who lived in California. They looked like what I would have thought the Sheldon Speyer mini-bands would look like stacked. Does anyone know who this designer is? Does Cartier sell Sheldon Speyer mini-bands? These were gorgeous. Her family gives her one for every occasion!

I started a new thread on rings that stack in Rocky Talky. On an expedition to try to see some by Kirk Kara, I found some by "Simon G". If you have any information on rings that stack designed by anyone, would you visit this thread and post a bit?

Am I the only person who is really taken with the stack rings? I often feel as if I am talking to myself in these threads about them! I have no money to buy a ring right now, but have arranged to see the Sheldon Speyer mini mania rings while in Connecticut. If I like them, I will decide on a wish list and work with the jeweler who is showing them to me to buy one at a time. They appear to be a project one can start with something wearable (a first band) and just add to.

I am exhausted by the process of "building" a ring from one colored stone. When one buys that first stone, it is a long time before he will be wearing it. At least if he is not wealthy! Mini rings give one the option of wearing something right from when he first starts to spend money! I have to say that I think *all* of them are grossly overpriced, given the diamonds and precious metal that go into such a tiny ring, however! That will give me pause unless they are truly gorgeous!

Let us know how your trip to see the Sheldon Speyer rings turns out! They look lovely but I am also wondering how wide they are. I have to agree with you about the prices -- I love the stacked look but you have to buy at least 2 or 3 and from what I can tell, that really adds up...$$$.

Well...I saw some. Actually, I saw a number of them, all in my size, which Sheldon Speyer had shipped to a jeweler in Connecticut who sells his pieces. I also bought one, although I had promised I would not. Had I had to put it on a charge card, I would not have done it, but I had enough cash in my checking account to cover the damage.

I bought a yellow gold band set with yellow sapphires. The sapphires were a deep yellow. I am going to make out a "wish list" of the type Amaazon.com lets one keep and see if I can buy one of the rings I desire once in a while.

Although this band was considerably less expensive that the others I have seen or seen advertized, it is still expensive given the small amount of gold and the tiny diamonds in it. It is charming, though. The jeweler, Peter Suchy, said that the rings are labor-intensive. Apparently they are made in Thailand. I wonder if Mogok (currently in Vietnam) knows where they are made!

It's not a "them"; it's an "it". ONE mini-band! I have tried to get a picture from the website, but it is difficult to do. If you go to the website mentioned in the first posting of this thread, go to "Sheldon's Collection", then go to "Mini Mania", you can see the yellow gold and yellow sapphire ring.
