lol, I have some blue topaz. hehehe

I want a big hot pink cushion topaz, since I can''t afford (and likely won''t ever be able to) a hot pink sapphire or spinel in that size...

Don''t feel too bad! I think they are pretty cool looking.

I admit it, I like shiny rocks.

No pictures yet because the new ones aren''t even here yet but I went on a little therapy shopping on ebay last week.

* 13ct green amethyst. what I''ll do with it, I have no idea. Not like I don''t have enough green rocks right?
* 1.66 unheated pink sapphire. its a pear. I generally hate pears. its kinda cute though.
* 1.30 yellow sapphire. not that I needed done but it looked lonely.

and yet another blue zircon. I get one every year for my birthday. Though I do have my eye on a pretty yellowish one (but I have to ask myself if I really NEED it. ...though it is 3 carats and unheated)

You know, ideally i''d like a asscher cut one but have never had the luck of finding such a thing.

OOOO... I''ve been looking for asscher cut gems also...

Put ''em in a cool bowl, and leave them out for people to play with! Big shiny stones are fun--no shame!

The very first colored stone I bought was an aquamarine that had NO color and a HUGE window. It''s just a part of your gem history.

I''d have fun playing with those dudes if I came over to your pad!

fish bowl.
They are so huge, will look even more enormous and vibrant under water. Have you ever wanted a Beta or a small turtle?

i totally agree...it would be awesome!

They are so pretty! ...and that is a great idea! I bought a Madiera Citrine recently but sent it back. Apparently there are large sized Madiera Citrines and Amethyst that are really nice man made synthetics. They call them hydrothermal quartz. I found out about this AFTER I made the purchase. ONe of my gemstone friends sent me a link... 3 main things that sent alarms going off in my head that the MC was not real 1) no color zoning 2) a nice MC would cost 2x what I paid 3) these synthetics are mostly VVS quality and have microscopic bread crumb inclusions within the stone that look like popcorn. Sorry if I got a little off topic here....but I felt that it may give others an idea what to look for!

I did however purchase a few other gemmies that I have yet to receive. I will start a thread if I feel they are worth starting a thread for!! Stay tuned!!
