Hello All,

I had some time over the weekend and took some shots of the 3 stones I got from Dana during the sale! :) please pardon my amateur pics I am still learning... :read: if any of you got anything from it do post away too!

From top to bottom : 0.7ct winza ruby, 1.35ct OEC Tunduru color shift sapphire (from teal blue to navy), 1.91 Burmese pink spinel
The stats of the respective stones are: 6.7 x 4.8mm, 6.3mm and 9 x 6.3 x 4.8mm

Lastly, a personal fav pic to show the spinel's dispersion

Nicely done! Do you have any setting plans?

Thank you ElleW! =) I love many of your rings; especially your big blue! Please toss me some ideas for the color shift sapphire! I haven't thought about its setting yet...

As for the teeny winza ruby, it will go into a sentimental bypass ring together with a teeny blue sapphire (my husband's birthstone is sapphire and the ruby will be our son's - whom we are so excited to see this July haha!). The little blue was bought from Wildfishgems 2 years back and had been sitting in my gem box lol as that was my very first colored stone purchase and when it came I find it too small so I didn't have any setting plans for it :( Looking back, it was indeed a blessing in diguise cause now, i think it will go perfectly with the little winza and it will have much more significance too!

For the pink spinel, I am thinking of a N-S setting with halo and pave split shank but if you do have any other ideas for it please let me know! :wavey:

I adore the glowy red Ruby. It's beautiful.

Beautiful stones! The ruby will look gorgeous in a bypass ring. Can't wait to see your rings!

Hi redroze1, me too! i love that it sort of glows even in indoors

Hi Ricezo, I am still waiting patiently(hah) for my jeweler to call me to collect my mint tourm and i will pass her the new projects to work on while i'm at her shop :appl: The wait for the completed projects to land on our hands is always very trying period ain't it!

Love the glow of the ruby and it's a pity pictures don't show the flashiness of the spinel well.

Love the ruby, thanks for sharing.

DK

Its funny, but I don't even check his website any more. I gotta be more diligent from now on. The ruby looks lovely.

Hi Chrono, yes it's so hard to capture the dispersion of spinels and the sparkles that it throws off. Do you have any tips for me to capture them in certain lightings or facing? I will really appreciate some! =)

To dk168, thanks! I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped this little one. :cheeky: It is indeed a vibrant red as per Dana's color description and he was kind to offer to polish out a micro nick on its girdle for me! Loved dealing with Dana and Rachelle!

Yes Minous, time to check back his site haha! :D

That ruby is so cute and a great color. Love it.

I love the ruby too!

Thank you all for dropping by to look at them and your lovely comments! I can't wait to put that little red into its new home. I am thinking to go with 18K YG for the bypass ring (the little red winza shown above and a little blue sapphire that's not shown here) and hope it will turn out well!
