amethyst crystals in matrix from NS wifey2b brought me.

the matrix is aprox. 6 inches long so you get a sense of scale.
The large crystal is about the width of a quarter.

So what exactly is the white part? Is it s different crystal or just another form?

And if Wifey got you that several-hundered-carat beast, what did you get her?

My guess is the white crystals are calcite. Pretty common on these specimens. VERY tasty!

The crystals look kicken so I have added an amethyst crystal to my wish list.
Think one would make a kicken pendant uncut.

Ditto! I remember smashing big round rocks against our driveway and finding that some were filled with lovely pink crystals. Who knows what my parents did with them...I would love to dig around their property now!
