Hi everyone!

Tonight before my DH and I went out for a walk, I decided not to wear my upgrade set and put on my original w-set for the first time since getting my upgrade...I had forgotten how emotionally attached to it I am and wonder if it looks "too w-set-ish" to wear as a RHR...I''ve included a picture and would love your feedback!!!

Thanks in advance!

I think that makes an excellent right hand ring!

You know what? That is an excellent idea to wear it as a right hand ring! I think I''m going to do the same thing with my original wedding set. It would make the husband very happy because he''s still quite attached to that ring.

thanks so much your feedback mrs jam!!! I''m still toying with the idea, but I''m also wondering if it would be strange/odd to have all white gold on one hand (left) and YG on my right?! Thoughts??

I think it is fine to mix...I do it all the time. My wedding set is platinum but practically everything else I own is yellow gold. bracelets, rings, watches, etc.

Oh wow, that is a beautiful ring!
I mix metals all the time. My watch, which was my dad''s- I never remove, and it is stainless steel.
Most of my jewelry is yellow gold.
I also wear a wedding set on my right hand. Rules, schmules. :)

Oh AchioAlumna I think that would be a SWEET Right hand ring!!!

IN my opinion, more a RHR than a typical E-ringish.....

AchioAlumna, I think that your original would make a wonderful right hand ring. I am also a "mixer". My watch is stainless with yellow gold accents. I wear a white gold diamond bracelet with it every day and my ER and right hand rings are yellow gold, as is most of my other jewelry. I think it''s all in what you like.

That ring is too pretty to be left in the jewelry box! I think a lot of people wear old wedding sets or family wedding rings as right hand rings. I also agree that there is no problem mixing metals. I have a stainless and gold watch and I mix up everything else between white gold, yellow gold, and platinum.

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments!!!! I had forgotten how much I loved this ring when I started wearing my new "BLING!" It''s been sitting in the jewelry box for the last 4 months. I had originally planned to wear this ring when we go to Jamaica or some other beach-related vacation so as not to risk losing my new rings in the sand, but that''ll be a while.

Thanks for the confidence of mixing gold too!!! I''m never sure (when it comes to WG, YG, Plat) what I can/can''t do!!!

I love mising and matching, it is all about your comfort level. Personally though if I had a lovely like that I would wear it. Plus what can be better then looking at either had and seeing how much life has grown and changed in ten years. now you have symbols of your and your husbands love to look at on both hands.

I thin it''s be great as a RHR. How about getting it Rhodium-plated to match the new w-set? It''s so inexpensive to get it plated, about $15-35 every 6 months or so. Better than having it sit in a jewelry box!

Oohhh...now THAT''s an idea!!! Never thought of that!! I''ll have to ask hubby about that one...somehow (just on gut instinct) I don''t think he''ll go for it since he didn''t marry me with it that way...but if I wear it as a RHR and don''t feel comfortable with the YG?WG combo, then that might make for a good argument...

*tucks that idea away for a rainy day!*

Rhodium plating over yellow gold can be tricky. The rhodium will wear unevenly and you''ll end up with a leopard printed ring. Something to think about - you can rhodium plate, buy you''ll most likely have to plate more frequenly than expected.

To be honest, I''ve never rhodium plated a yellow gold item so I don''t know how it''d turn out....I do rhodium plate my white gold and platinum jewelry so that they match, I''m one of those people who are color sensitive, and even white gold and platinum looks so different to me that I can''t wear them together.

That being said, I think that if you don''t let the rhodium wear off, it should look fine, just replate it before any yellowness shows through.

Michelle...thanks for letting me know about this...I''ll have to ask my jeweler what he thinks if I decide to go through with it...right now, I''m just going to try to mix/match the golds and see how I like it...

Thanks for everyone''s feedback!!! I love the ring....it''s funny how small the diamond seems now that we have my new w-set!!!

Do you have a two-toned watch? If you don''t like the look of mixing, a two-toned watch might help.

I have rhodium plated many pieces of yellow gold jewelery with great success. They have held up really well. HTH.

Thanks for letting me know kaleigh...

I wore my new "RHR" today and the mixing of golds didn''t bother me as much as I thought it would have...I''m so happy that I get to wear both my w-rings at the same time!!
