Hi EBree--

I''ve been long time lurker and finally just got engaged. My FI and I will be getting married in Dallas in 2008 and had some questions for you. Are you getting married at the dallas arboretum? I am also interested in getting married there but it seems really pricey since you have to hire all outside caterers, tables, etc. I read in another post that you''re using bbj linens...are you finding it really expensive to have the wedding where nothing is really included...help??

Thanks!

Hi blondie!

I am getting married at the Dallas Arboretum. From what I know, when you secure the site, white tables and chairs are provided. If you want linens and chair covers, however, they're extra. You do have to hire a caterer (and the DA has a list of "approved caterers", which are the only caterers you're allowed to use) but one, called A La Carte Catering, is located at the DA and the woman in charge, Judy, is very nice. A La Carte was also one of the most affordable from the 'approved' list. You can call the Arboretum and they'll send you an email package with all of their terms, conditions and lists.

I'm using BBJ linens because I found a florist who is in the process of building a resume, and she normally works with BBJ. I'm getting everything at cost (I know, lucky!), so I'm not sure exactly how much everything costs, but I can get an estimate from her and pass it along to you.

If you have any other questions, please, feel free to ask! Also, you can take a look at some pricing here:

Thank you so much for your response. I have called the DA and have asked for pricing, terms, etc. I love the DA, but I have a feeling it may be better to go with a country club or hotel that already has linens included. You go so lucky that you found a florist willing to do that. i don''t think i''ll be that lucky..hehe. After I get the info from the DA I may be posting here again with more questions. Thanks!!!

No problem! I forgot to include that Judy the caterer will provide linens, and I believe she was offering them to me at a great rate, if not at cost. If you contact her, she'll be able to tell you which linen company she uses (I completely forgot, but I remember it was a nice place).
