people have rsvp''d, I am working on the seating chart. Question is, how old does a kid have to be in order for me to assign them their own seat? 2 yrs old? 3 yrs old?

For my wedding:
-Any child over 3 had a reserved seat.
-I had four kids between the age of 16mo and 2.5yrs. I knew they were too small for their own seat, so I rented highchairs but reserved a space for them so the table wouldn''t be overcrowded.
-I had four infants under the age of 1 (too young for highchairs) that I had no idea how to handle so I called the parents. They told me not to worry, they would bring strollers. I put these couples at corner tables so the strollers wouldn''t get in the way of "traffic."

I have no idea what is customary, but this worked well for us.
Hope it helps.

I would ask their parents...maybe the 2 year olds are still in high chairs and so should they be at your reception. Since the parents will be the ones dealing with it the most, ask their advice.
