About to pull the trigger on a FLY radiant with a halo!! It's a square cornered radiant and I want to make sure that the size of the halo is such that the cut corner shape is really evident in the design as that's why I chose this shape stone.

Would love to see people's radiants! Yellow or otherwise.

If we go ahead mine is to be a 2.09ct and the L/W ratio is pretty much 1:1

Hi bondi, I can't wait to see your finished ring. I have a rounded-corner FLY radiant in a halo so mine will be a little different than yours but it still reads as squarish. It is 2.52cts.

OMG Catmom that is amazing! Do you mind me asking what ring size you are? :)

Also, I am torn between getting 2 prong claws around the centre stone or one ... I feel like 1 prong will let the shape cut corners of the stone sing more but I am worried about the practicality of it ... perhaps 2 prongs will offer more steadiness in the setting.

Thanks bondi! The ring is sized to a 5 but it has a large sizing bridge in it because my finger size is 4.75 but I need it larger to get over my huge knuckle.

You are getting a pretty large stone. If it was me I would worry with a single claw prong but that's just me.

The double prongs might show off the cut corners better, but with a halo, the corners will be more evident anyway. I'd say get what you like.

My cushion has single prongs and I haven't had any problems.

Gorgeous ring catmom!!!! Although my ring is not a radiant cut - it is a yellow emerald cut sapphire so it does have the clipped corners. I can clearly see the clipped corners in the halo, and in my opinion I actually think the double prongs help show the clipped corners. I also happen to love the look of double prongs so that is why I went that route. The only thing I would change is to have the prongs in yellow gold so that it blends in with the center stone. I do love my ring though, and I think your ring with be stunning!!!!

thanks for your input guys! those rings are both stunning! I so love the cut cornered shape of radiants and emeralds, so geometric!

I found this reference from DBL (although we are using Leibish) and I think it gives a good idea of how the single prongs kind of simplify the setting a bit, and also how the smaller stones in the halo (rather than matching halo width to band width) allow for more definition around the centre stone shape:

But if I get any more warnings that a single prong could be dicey, I will stick to double!! :)

So excited, this will be my E-Ring!
