Hey, AG, could you tell me more specifically about Olile''s upcoming lap-cat-ed-ness?! (sp?!!!)
1.gif

Is he jumping up INTO your lap? Or just staying there when you lift him into your lap?
Are there times when he just isn''t in the mood... or is he a "sure thing" these days??!
How did you do it? How has it "progressed"??!
THANK YOU!
L

For you Ms. Lynn, Ollie details are always available
2.gif

Its been a very slow and gradual process, and there''s still a lot of progress to be made.

He mostly will just stay (and snuggle in, and purr) if I lift him up there, but he has been known to jump up on his own. What he also does sometimes, which I think is super cute, is he will start circling around my feet and making tiny squeaking noises - DH and I have learned that these noises usually mean he wants attention of some sort. So if I lift him up then, he''s usually totally happy to stay.

I also had to figure out that he doesn''t like to just "sit" in my lap. He prefers to be cradled, sort of like a baby, or he likes it if I lean back a bit so he can curl up on my torso.

He likes it if I pet him gently while he''s there, but its not necessary. He purrs more if I do though, so I usually do
2.gif

I think they key has been being super patient, taking it really slow, and paying attention to what he likes and doesn''t like. Routines also seem to help - he likes it if DH and I are always in our same chairs, at about the same time every night, and he''s especially susceptible to lap time if he''s just had a meal or is in the middle of a nap nearby

So, OMG...Omie had to go to the animal hospital ER over the weekend! She was having tummy issues, so we had to take her in Saturday afternoon. Her tests came back fine, but she was quite dehydrated from throwing up Friday and Saturday. They put her on an IV, which meant they had to shave a patch of her beautiful fur right above her front paw. She also needed a catheter too. She was really stressed out, but she came home Monday morning, very groggy because they had to sedate her in order for them to take out the IV & the catheter (she is not very good at the vet). Finally, I noticed she started back to her diva ways, which made me feel better. She has also been grooming herself constantly to make up for 3 days of not getting brushed. My poor diva...

OMG Omie I'm so sorry I missed this - how is Miss Omie doing??? How scary for all of you! I know how terrifying it is to have to take them to the e-vet, I can only imagine...
39.gif

I really hope she is 110% back to her normal self and completely healed - poor baby girl! HUGE hugs from me and my clan (or as much as she'll tolerate, assuming she's back to her usual diva self
2.gif
).
Omie is back to her full diva self and fortunately, it did not take very long for her to recover.

I just love your new pictures AG, he is so cute and has such similar markings to Omie. I love his white paws and glad to hear that he is turning into a lap cat. Omie will plop on my lap once in a while, but does not stay long. However, she will lay next to my lap and rest her paws on my leg. I wish she would spend more time on my lap, but I will take what I can get!

Oh you guys! These kitties are so cute! I''m gonna die! I don''t have any of Leo on this computer, but, I''ll be sure to post some soon!

Have a few new ones of Boo!
He''s 12.5 pounds now.

Hehe - so glad to hear that Miss Omie is back to her usual diva self so quickly

Yay for more Leo pics!!! Every time I see pictures of his handsome self I start thinking all kinds of evil thoughts about how I could possibly talk DH into getting just *one* more kitty if I could only find a flame-point Raggie somewhere...yeah, that''s going to happen

Awww...Lynn, LOVE the new pictures of Mr. Handsome Darkening Every Single Day Boo - lookit how gorgeous!!!

30.gif
It looks like his lush coat is coming in more too - is that possible, or was he just having an *Extra Fuzzy* day?

I think if Ollie has The Tail, Boo has The Ruff - its so AMAZING, just lush and gorgeous and so silly-looking!

I just LOVE Boo pics - his facial expressions totally crack me up - I think that's what's so hilarious about Raggies - they are so beautiful and magnificent, and yet so ridiculous at the same time LOL.

And so random - Boo and Ollie weigh the exact same - Ollie got weighed at the vet about a month ago, and he was 12.5 lbs too!!

Awww, thanks for the post, AG!
Y''know, I think you''re right about The. Ruff.

It''s not something I think I have really *noticed*, seeing him everyday... but it really IS coming in, isn''t it?!!
30.gif
30.gif
30.gif

And yes, he is getting fluffier every day, too! (And my clothes have the LONGER hairs all over them to prove it!)
It''s been so interesting to watch his colors develop... and his personality. He will never be the BRIGHTEST bulb in the chandelier

(we lovingly refer to him as "simple"!!!) - but he is such a sweet and gentle, loving little soul! Who needs MENSA smarts, anyway, right???! And IQs are overrated, anyhow!!! haha!!!
Seriously, he is just so wonderful... and still so playful, silly and "kittenish". I think I love that most of all!
36.gif

Oh my!!!! I''ve been gone for a while from here (busy getting married and all that jazz!) but I was so happy to see this thread is still alive and well.
All of these kitties are so adorable.
I can''t believe how big and dark Boo got! Wow! What a handsome boy. (but he still doesn''t weigh as much as my non-ragdoll guys! He''ll have to get to the Big 1 5 for that!)

I swear he and Ollie must have had the same parents - Ollie is EXACTLY the same personality-wise - DH and I joke that he "rides the special bus" LOL
3.gif

But I agree - his simplicity and sweetness (especially as he gets older and snugglier - LOVE THAT
30.gif

) and his kitten-ish mannerisms totally make it worth it - he wouldn''t be the same endearing kitty if he were smart

OMG! I love all the new photos on this thread. I never tire of admiring Ragdoll kitties!
Just thought I would add a few more of my little boy, Sebastian.

OK, so Mr. Oliver has been on a cute kick lately, and I just had to share some pics with you all. Unfortunately I don''t have any pictures of this yet, but he has become a lap cat basically every night - its beyond adorable

I promise I will try to get some pictures so you can all appreciate the cuteness of Ollie as lap cat
2.gif

In the meantime, he pulled two cute stunts today that I got pictures of. Here''s the first - looks closely at what he is sitting on...

ollieonPhDhoodpic11.jpg

Yup, that''s the hood from my PhD graduation ceremony...they are these silly huge things (mine went down to my calves practically), and there''s a ceremony where your advisor puts it on you - very silly, dates from Medieval times. When I got home from the ceremony, I just flung the robe onto the sideboard out of the way, I never expected Mr. Ollie to make it into a nest

His other new favorite thing to do is to curl up in a little loaf inside his new soft carrier (blue to match his eyes
30.gif
)

ollieinbluecarrier16.jpg

and then he waits...

ollieinbluecarrier22.jpg

and watches surreptitiously...

ollieinbluecarrier18.jpg

ollieinbluecarrier17.jpg

And when one of his sisters goes by, he stands up and surprises her, or he pounces (sadly I couldn''t get a pounce shot - but I''ll keep trying!!)
