I saw this and couldn’t resist. I love the way it really does have a rainbow! Please excuse the dry nails! No idea what to do with it but I just liked how it was unusual.

Gorgeous! It kinda looks like an ammolite.

That is SO super cool!
I'd mount or set it as is, maybe as a pendant.

Wow, that’s gorgeous and so unusual.
I would definitely mount that as a pendant. The best way I think would be drilling in a hole (like they do with pearls) and then gluing in a stalk for a bale.

Omg I have a little boy who would love love love that.

Can you advise where you got it or where I can find interesting specimens like that?

I've bought an opal for his Christmas stocking but yours is just so cool!!!

 That's a fairy egg! That's a fairy egg!
I loved fairy stories when I was little. I would've gone crazy over that.
Who am I kidding? I still would.

Yes, a pendant is just the thing.

It’s a guy on Instagram and Etsy called opalus tomalyes (or similar spelling - can’t check at the mo). He has some lovely opals.

I think if I mount it I’ll make a bezel for it. I don’t like it when pendants spin when drilled. This has a flat back so it wouldn’t look nice drilled.

Hmmm, that should be the new California state gem!6CA30533-7219-4C1E-BE79-5039351D872B.jpeg
Being a Brit I don’t understand the reference but California can keep their hands off it

It’s shaped like California. I guess I’m the only one that saw it, lol!

ETA: that’s why I uploads a photo of it upside down.

If you're dyslexic :P2. Rainbow, too -- very appropriate!

EDIT: Oops -- I see the upside-down one now!

My vote is pocket-rock to take out and admire.
