Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

had to add pictures of my special boy. Oscar likes to start play fights but knows that at 1.8kg or 4 pounds he will always lose. so is very often running away from other dogs usually towards me cos i have a history of lifting him up. i don't do it anymore unless hes seriously in danger and now without the overactive safety net hes a bit more polite to the other dogs! these three pics were taken by the action setting on my camera meaning all three were taken within a second (or so)

the black dog is left wondering what the hell just happened!

I love looking at these pictures of everyone's pets!! They are so adorable!

Here is one that I took of Candy over the weekend. She loves to sleep with Lambchop-but this pose was one of the most amusing I'd seen.

TWINS???!!!

I would amend it to read:

How to make coffee 1: get a second microwave; leave Cat in first micro until coffee is finished :praise:

How to make coffee 2: make Cat's coffee first - after all, priorities, priorities!

ETA:
How to make coffee 3: Gently close drawer on Cat until coffee making process has been completed...

This is precious! Our kitty is also curious, but it's not so bad. Matata, your cats sound like heaps of fun ::)

Minous: I think you hit the nail on the head -- it's all about putting the kitty first! Coffee & your own life can wait, patiently :cheeky:

My dog has spring fever like crazy! So he's been taking it out on the dog park, running completely wild and acting like a bucking bronco. Once at home, the aftermath is this:

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

IS there such a thing as "Terrible Two's" in puppy land?? Lily is NUTSO!!! She has really taken to the baser instincts and goes for Ava's ankles all the time --- I mean, Ava's laying by the fire, and out of now where, this psycho brown flying bundle of fur, leaps and with Cujo like precision - ATTACKS!!! Ava is exceptionally tolerant (who knew? but I guess its an older lab thing???) but what the he!! is going on with Lily???

She's lost a few baby teeth, has every teething/rope toy that PetSmart has ever sold, including Kong's of every size shape and variation... she is not missing chewy things, its the 'crazy possessed' attacks that are really wearing us ALL out!!! We try to take her now for 2x 2km walks a day to tire her out - but there's this extra turbo boost of energy she seems to draw from.

Thoughts???

For sure. Cats do it too. You still have to go through the teen years and when she reaches 1-2 yrs of age, she might try to take over as alpha female. It's completely normal.

TOTALLY!!! Her birthday is Oct 20, so she's 4.5 months.... I guess she's right on schedule then! Its been a while since Ava was a puppy (she'll be 7 in June) and I can't remember. This is exhausting!! Seriously thinking we are too old for a puppy!! OMG - if we are too old for a puppy, we couldn't possibly handle grandchildren    (I think my whole body shuddered at that thought.... :? :nono: ;( )

Ohhh GOD. Emily is 4months now. She attacks our ankles, the bottoms of our coats, the hems of our pants - and it comes out of *nowhere*!! She's teething on everything - she chews carpet, tables, the couch, the curtains, our firewood... she gets lots of playtime and the totally-flip-the-switch-crazy only lasts maybe fifteen minutes at a time, but it's completely unpredictable and she has NO regard for what she's biting during and her teeth are f'n SHARP dammit!!!!!!

 :errrr: ;(

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Yssie!! that's Lily to a "T"!! Totally what she does - holy cow its insanity when it happens... and then its over. And you're left wondering - WTH was *THAT* all about??? :twirl:

Must be something in their little puppy brains that just flips - Terrible Twos for sure! I guess the teen years are going to be with in the year as well... oh... joy... can't... wait....

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Ooh, I love the new pics of the pups and kitties :appl:

My monster never grew out of his ankle biting and puppy crazies. He's 8 this year, and he still chases after our pant legs and likes to "attack" us after play bowing. We've gone to many trainers and were never able to train it out of him and have just accepted it as part of his personality

ETA: hope your pups grow out of the random ankle biting! (It can be super dangerous for both of you near stairs - I know from experience)

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

I was walking in the park today and saw a girl doing crunches on the grass. Her dog was with her (sorry, don't know dog breeds, so I can't say what kind, but it was short and stocky, medium-sized). The dog looked kind of young, very energetic. While I was walking by, he ran several laps around her, but she kept doing crunches. So finally the dog couldn't take it anymore, got down on the grass next to her, on his back, and started doing crunchy motions! He kept doing it for a while, too! It was SO CUTE! I nearly died.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

I believe that i have posted a picture of my baby in this thread already. It is a very sad day for me. It is her 8th bday and also the last one i will share with her. I have been crying all day. On Jan 21st we saw a lump on her leg. After visiting two vets: her vet said they "didnt know what it is" and the new PHENOMENAL vet who gave us the worst news possible but with care, compassion and professionalism - on Feb 22 we were told that she has osteosarcoma. Its a highly aggressive bone cancer that metastasizes fast and even with chemo and radiation they dont get much more "time", ultimately it is terminal. The vet thinks she has a few months left. We were told to think how we would like her to pass and thats when it made it all real. We have decided, that when the time comes, she will pass at home with everyone who loves her and her beloved stuffed animals around her. We will have the pet cremation place pick her up and she will be cremated individually and we have picked out a beautiful wood carved urn with spot for photo, which will be her final resting place. We have opted for pain control and allowing my sweet girl to enjoy her last days with us doing everything she loves.

I haven't stopped crying realizing that there will be no more bdays to celebrate. She is far too young to leave this earth from something so horrible. Sorry to bear a sad sentiment to this thread but i just needed somewhere to vent a little.

Oh LoveLikeCrazy, I'm so sorry! I don't know what to say. It is my worst nightmare. I'm sorry you're going through this. I don't know if I would be as strong as you are right now. I've told DH that when the girls go, I wanna go too...
I can't stop crying for you... I'm so sorry....
