He's not supposed to be on the sofa but he's trying to "cute" me into letting him stay.

I always say I'm not a pug owner. I am owned by a pug. He did rule the sofa for a while but he's a prolific shedder so he's been banned. I don't think he got the memo though.

And my other beautiful girl, Emma


Went to the vet and she found a small lump on Livi. She thinks it's nothing since its petty soft to the touch and is moving around and not solid in one place. But she told us to keep an eye out to see if it gets bigger and they will test it. I've been having panic attacks ever since then... I really hope it's nothing.

Went to the vet and she found a small lump on Livi. She thinks it's nothing since its petty soft to the touch and is moving around and not solid in one place. But she told us to keep an eye out to see if it gets bigger and they will test it. I've been having panic attacks ever since then... I really hope it's nothing.

Aw, crap, YT! So did they measure it so they'll know precisely how big it is? The last thing you need is to lose sleep over this...

Phinney likes to pick up everything on her walks (twigs, rocks, litter) and she picked up this cup sleeve while she was at the park yesterday. She was really proud of herself but it obstructed her vision - and she ran into a tree. She's fine, but it was hilarious.

Minou, they did measure the lump and documented it so I'm hoping that it stays just a fatty ball. Fingers crossed.

New pics of Francesca...she just loves boxes. Any size or shape and as soon as there's a new one in the house she knows about it. LOL.

Just decided to send a little update. Bella lost her fight with osteosarcoma and crossed the rainbow bridge at 3:50pm yesterday. She was a strong and courageous fighter, giving us double the time the vet anticipated at diagnosis. She was just shy of being 8 1/2 years old. She was my world. Even with time to prepare, this is hands down the worst I have ever felt in my life. RIP my sweet angel, ill never forget all the sweet kisses, the way you preferred human stuffed animals over dog toys and how you changed my life with just one look. You were the greatest thing to ever happen to me - til we meet again.

LoveLikeCrazy... I don't know what to say. I am so so so sorry for your loss.

Bella reminded me so much of my girl, Livi. I really don't know how you are doing this but you are so strong. I think about the day my baby will be gone and I have panic attacks and feel like I can't go on. I've even went as far as asking DH to kill me and bury me next to her. I only hope that when the day comes, I can be as strong as you are now and know to make the right decisions to ensure that my babies are happy and healthy when they go.

You were an awesome, awesome mommy and Bella loved you with ALL her heart.

Thank you for the thoughts, it is a very tough time.

YT - this is the third pet I've taken part in putting down, but the first pet that was MINE. The others were family pets. Not to say that I didn't love them (because I most certainly did!), but they crossed the rainbow bridge of old age. Our family lab passed at 14 (quite a feat for a lab!) and the rabbit passed at 21 (YES! 21!!! They are only supposed to live like 10 years). So in those circumstances you kinda feel a little better that they have lived their life and whatnot. My Bella was my 21st birthday present. I picked her out. I trained her. She had the BEST personality. Where the family dog was more of a loaner, Bella was up your butt. She wanted to be everywhere that we were. If someone was sick she was like a soldier guarding a fort, never leaving anyone's side. She had such a sweet personality and demeanor, she just wanted to make everyone happy, and she was always happy.

I'm having a mini anxiety attack as I write this bc I am thinking back about how sad it is that her story ended this way. My sweet girl did not DESERVE to die of cancer. And my sweet sweet love had something that I couldn't fix. None of us could. My dog had gotten me through so many breakups, bad days, sick days, fun days. She became a great companion to my retired parents who had empty best syndrome. That dog has done more for me and my family than any human could do and I couldn't save her. That's where I am right now.

When the time comes you will be strong for your sweet pups because its the only way to repay them for what they've done for you. And when they are gone you will crumble into a pile and you will be ok...one day you'll be ok. And you have a great SO who will be there for you to help you pick up the pieces.

I'm so sorry to turn this into a sad turn again. Someone post some happy pics!

I'm so so sorry LLC. The pain you must feel.... It drives me crazy that they can't tell us where it hurts. And yet, even when they are hurting, they show us unconditional love.

LoveLikeCrazy, I am so sorry about your sweet Bella. The pain of losing a beloved family member is overwhelming. Know you did everything you could and that you gave her a life full of love and happiness. She was a lucky girl to have you taking care of her and you were lucky having her in your life as well. And that is really something. So while the pain is great so was the love you shared and nothing will ever change that. She is smiling down on you from Rainbow Bridge at peace and with the knowledge she had a good life. Big (((hugs))) to you.

I've been talking to the woman at the shelter about the other kitty. I want to get over there to meet her and see how we click. She said she's real laid back, like Clem, so that's nice.

I've already named her, so I'm quite certain she's going to be coming here soon.

LLC - I'm so sorry that Bella has crossed the rainbow bridge. I hope you are doing ok. I know that nothing but time heals the pain, but hoping each day is a little bit better for you... (((HUGS)))

We've been following up with our vet for Ava, our 7 y.o. yellow lab, regarding a benign fatty tissue cyst just along her right nipple line - its mobile not fixed, soft and they aspirated nothing but fatty cells and the biopsy was negative for cancer... but ... we will still diligently watch the lump.
