We don't have a Christmas tree but we do have a cat tree decorated by Maliik. I don't know how he managed to fold it in half and drape it over the tree. At the end of last week, he'd shredded the whole thing into itty bitty pieces. And a pic of the boys cuddled up yesterday when outside temp was 5 degrees.

Oh Matata, Malik stole my heart a long time ago - and has probably batted it all over your house and then completely shredded it by now!

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Hi!
A short story about one of my cats:

So this is Peach, he is acctually a guy but the breeder did name him that, so we just continued calling him so.
He is pretty much the same today as when he was a kitten. I thought that I could share some pics :)

He really loves to eat, as you can see the love for food started pretty early.
eating.jpg

He did not really care what he ate, even though not everything tasted that great.
The first thing he did when we finally took him home with us, was to run straight to a can filled with paint and start drinking from it.
I panicked and the whole cat was not cream anymore, he was white. So he had to spend the first hour in our bathtub.
He did luckily not drink that much, but he for sure had it all over him.
eat.jpg

He is also quite a talker, or should I say screamer? I love him like crazy but sometimes I just wish he could shut up just for 5 minutes
scream.jpg

He looks quite calm on this last picture. He is in the kitchen though and I do remember what he wanted : foooooooooood.

Here are two of mine, inspecting Christmas packages a couple of years ago. :D Both came from a shelter. Awesome cats.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Matata: I have been like that through this entire thread
I wish I had more pictures of my both cats as adults though but most of my pictures disappeared in my last computer crash :(

I wish I could go back and kiss that kitten belly of his:

I did find another kitten pic of my other cat as well,Cadima. She is the one closest to the camera

I love Peach in his food bowl. My dog, Griffin, came home from Cape Cod sitting in his water bowl. Being a full grown Newfoundland dog at 125 pounds, he didn't fit in as neatly as Peach fit into his food dish, however.

I love his unusual coat. He does resemble a peach. What kind of cat is he?

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

My three guys! The brothers were born at the SPCA. One is blind but doesn't let it bother him. Kermit was a stray but you'd never know it. He purrs if you look at him.

My daughter with Kermit. He's so good with her. He lets her pick him up and cuddle him.

This is Bear. We are his third home and he has come a long way but prefers not to be held and flinches away from sudden movement. He hides when anyone is here but us. When he comes over he flops on his side and trills.

Poor Bear. Thank you for taking him in. He's a very good looking guy :)

innerkitten: Peach is a La Perm cat.

He is, very :praise: He is a cat who holds a mean grudge though. He avoided me for a month after giving him his customary Winter flea treatment.

Oh wow! that is a big grudge. My cats usually forgive me within a few hours after a flea treatment.

Aww, I think my dog's memory span must be like 15 seconds. She doesn't hold grudges. One time I slammed the fridge door on her head (NOT ON PURPOSE) and she yelped, backed away, and then came back all happy again.

...Actually, maybe brain damage is the reason for her short attention span. ;)

Newest picture of Phinney. She's 10 months now, 30 lbs, and has chopsticks for legs. Her new favorite thing is to take her treat dispensing ball to the top of the stairs, bounce it down so all the treats come out, then slowly eat her way down the stairs.

I love her floppy paws and her sweet face :)

I am so sorry that Bear has had such a hard life. I hope that in time he will completely relax in your loving home! God bless you for being there to help him!!!

She is totally adorable. But I am a "dog person", and puppies tend to grab dog people even more than fully grown dogs do!

You have really given them a full life and a special home, packrat. You are a true animal lover. It is always a pleasure to see your photos and read your postings, whether you are showing your own cats or cats at your parents' house. I feel the same way about missy. I am never sure whose animals she will post next (it may be ducks), but it is always with love!
