Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

All these furbabies have me craving a new kitty! I might have to head over to pet finder after this.

I've made her "chocolate chip cookies" before with carob. And I've made her a meat cake with meat frosting :) yummmmmm Hahhaha
Good idea about the meat cake! Phinney doesn't like anything resembling biscuits. She also stopped eating her dried duck treats. I give her treats and 50% of the time she just spits them out. But she will lick poop.

Hahahaha! Oh, I cannot stop laughing! Maybe they need to start making poop flavored treats!!!

Exacta and I still miss Filly. :blackeye:

Exacta doesn't stray too far from me, without his shadow brother for company. This is where he planted himself when we got back from overseas.

Love it! Looks like he needed some long overdue sleep. :wink2:

This little guy is going to grow up to be a big Leonberger. Here he is only three weeks old and still with his mother. Her litters are very large. I believe that he was one of 13!!!

So cute!
Sort of resembles a potato at this age ( all puppies do) :).

 A really cute potato!

YT: yours are amazingly cute - all this time, I thought they were the same age!

And so many other cute ones here. I don't know whose to comment on first.

Beautiful puppy you have there, YT!!

Thanks! He's actually my SIL and brother's dog. We are babysitting the baby while they are in Korea for 3 weeks.

Here's my babies.

I actually saw those two earlier in the thread, YT, and would KILL to be able to cuddle with them! You would have to lock them up if I were ever in the vicinity! They are the most gorgeous, most cuddly dogs I have ever seen and I believe you had them since they were puppies, too! Are they Springer Spaniels? Can you repost puppy pictures? (I feel sure I saw some!)

Deb/AGBF
:wavey:

I'm sorry! I didn't see this before! They are springer spaniels Deb! Here's some baby pics of the well, babies!
These might be a repeat but who cares! Puppies!!!

Livi on the first day we got her.
Are they from the same litter?

They aren't actually. From different parents too. Livi was born on February 1st of 2007 and Emma was born on October 14th of 2007. Livi's birthday is coming up!
I still can't get over how Emma sits like a human baby!

How are you going to celebrate Livi's birthday? Phinney's first birthday is coming up in March!

I've made her "chocolate chip cookies" before with carob. And I've made her a meat cake with meat frosting :) yummmmmm Hahhaha
For my cats birthday I made him a sandwich meat cake since that's his favorite treat. Just piled a few slices of sandwich meat together and cut it into slices ( like cake). He got up from his nap had a few slices and went back to sleep. The other cats polished it off.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Murry loves the rubber boots. He will not go out in snow or rain or even if the ground is still wet or clear but salted for snow without those boots. He also finds they increase his traction on the wood floors, so when we come back in he runs around excitedly taking advantage of the improved grip! The are like super tough balloons, easy to put on and get off. They come twelve to a package which costs around $14. They not only protect his feet from wet and salt, but they keep them clean. People always comment on them and I say to them, well I wouldn't walk on this (cold filthy wet salted slushy nyc sidewalk) barefoot, would you?

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Back when he was younger he would go out in the cold and wet barefooted. But he didn't like it!
I must have posted these before, but I can't remember, so....

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

VL, I'm so jealous of your dog's tolerance to boots! I put Phinney in them and she did not like it. She put up with them for a little bit before she started trying to rub them off.

Here she is looking absolutely pathetic:

Hee hee hers have velcro straps. I love her expression! I wish my cats would let me dress them up. I've tried but they just hate it.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

This was my last attempt at dressing one of my cats. He's wearing a costume owned by my mother in laws dog. As soon as a put it on him he plopped down on his side and stayed that way. So I took it off.

+1. What a funny way to show you he didn't like the costume!

Phinney loves clothes (she's such a girl even though people on the street call her "little buddy" or "he", somehow they don't see the pink harness).

+1!!!
My pup is sick and not one person can tell me what's wrong her! We've taken her to 7 vets (I don't even want to think of how much we've paid so far)
She lost all her hair on her hind leg area...they look like turkey legs with the feathers plucked out :errrr:
How she's starting to lose fur on her actual legs and stomach area, and lost it where her tail curls.
The last vet we went to said "she's just getting old. She'll probably die soon" people are just so wrong sometimes. My dog is certainly not young but you don't tell someone that! Our neighbor raises horses and she told me that she thinks its a case of rain rot (or a fungal infection) which is totally plausible since my dog prefers to sleep outside. She told me to shave the dog bare and treat it with equine medication. Tomorrow is Day one. Pup will hate me but gotta do it for her sake!

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Oh no! Don't give up! Don't listen to that idiotic moron of a vet!!! Stupid! Animals are our babies! You don't tell parents their baby is gonna die. I really hope that your baby starts feeling better :( I hate it when they're sick cuz they can't tell us where it hurts...

Sending LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of dust and prayers.

Last year murry had the same symptoms. loss of hair/fur on stomach/inside legs around base of tail and a patch on his neck. The vet gave(sold) me a special wash for him and I had to do it every day for two weeks minimum of tem minutes each application. Worthless. I put a strong cortisone ointment (ultravate) on the spots and in a few days it was all healing. I also bought some alcohol free antibacterial wipes at the drug store and used those on the areas a few times a day, and before applying the ointment. in a month he was back to normal. But he is old, and I assume has a weakened immune system, so I still wipe him with the antibacterial wipes and about once a month I put a dab of ointment on the spots. It may not be a cure, but it is manageable.

Where do you get the cortisone ointment?
I'm trying this equine medication but instead of fully shaving her, I think
im going to shave the areas and see if it makes a difference. She's 9 years old, she deserves to be living pain free

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Murry is 13, he was 12 when he had the skin issue. I used an old cortisone I had been prescribed for some eczema. I would think an over the counter one would be less strong but still work. Really I only applied the ointment about three times a week because I knew it was very strong. Do you know what is in the equine med?
