Ok this is more of a vent than a joke. Although sometimes I feel like the world is playing a mean joke on me.

So I usually wear a size 4.5 or size 5 shoe. I posted about a pair of Alisha Hill shoes that I''m going to wear for my wedding, but I am greedy and want to be a two shoe bride. I was hoping to dye the Alisha Hills red and have another pair in ivory. The Alisha Hills fit wonderfully in a size 5.

For the ivory pair, I ordered a pair by Grace also in a size 5. I checked the bottom of the shoe and it is definitely marked "size 5." See how nicely they fit?

Sorry about the ugly sock. I plan on returning them so I didn''t want to get them dirty. Here''s a view from the other side.

And from the top with my foot pushed all the way back against the heel. It''s a beautiful shoe, just ridiculously sized. The silk satin is gorgeous. But I hate size inflation.

Aww Crown! How disappointing! I usually have the reverse problem...I wear 11''s!

Could it be UK sizing? A 5UK is about a 7US, and that looks about 2 sizes too big. Sorry it doesn''t fit, its a cute shoe!

hahaha awww that stinks. I would normally say that the hose is making the shoe feel bigger and it would fit better without the hose. But it there''s no hope for those

That''s what I was thinking. I''m also a US 5 and when I ordered boots off of Zappos I didn''t pay attention and ended up with a UK 5, which is about a 7. What a little surprise that was!

Cute shoes though!

Hm. It doesn''t say UK sizing anywhere on the box. Then again, it doesn''t specify that the 5 is a US 5 either. I ordered them online from My Glass Slipper. I guess I should call them and ask if it''s possible that they sent me a UK size 5. Thanks ladies!

that stinks!! on the upside, the shoes are beautiful, will you exchange for the right size?

Thanks Sophie! I wish I could exchange for a smaller size. But they are a size 5 (assuming they are US sizing), which is the smallest they carry.

LOVE THE SHOE! I have to agree with karasue91 it is definitely the sockie...it just allowed your little toostie to slide right in there. Sockie for the feet are as spanx is for the body. Just take off the sockie and you''ll see. You will gain two sizes.

I have to tell you...I so admire those little itty bitty feet of yours. I don''t have really big ones...but yours must look like a little princess shoe. Awhhh. Happy returns!

They look great! Isn''t it a new trend to have shoes 2 sizes too big??

Poo! I called My Glass Slipper and asked if Grace uses UK sizing. The consultant said they do NOT use UK sizing. So the only other possibility is that it was mismarked by the manufacturer. She went and got the shoe to measure it, just to see if the one I had was a fluke. Her Grace Crystal size 5 was 9.75"!!! CRAZY! My foot is ALMOST 8" long. I know the shoe was not 1.75" too big..maybe 1" max. Regardless...now I know I cannot order Grace shoes.

DKS, I adore you. You make me so happy.

And you''re brilliant! I never even thought of that sockie spanx issue. I will try it again tonight without the sockie.
