First time poster. I purchased an engagement ring a few days ago. I decided this past weekend that I want to propose this coming weekend and pulled the trigger without doing as much research as I would have liked. I paid a total of 15K for the stone + the setting. They quoted me at 16K initially and didn't counter back when I came in at 15K which was a but unsettling. My soon to be fiancée is going to love it regardless (I think), but I can't stop thinking about if I could have saved a few grand. I accept this is the price to pay for rushing the process.
The setting is 18K white gold with diamonds around
