I met with a florist on Saturday, January 5. Loved, loved, loved her. I''ve met with others since, and I''ve also liked one of them pretty well, but I felt like I made a good connection with the first one.

Except. . .

She still hasn''t sent me a quote. I appreciate that she wants to take some time and put some thought into her pricing, but I''m thinking ten days is probably too long.

Should I go with my second choice? My common sense says yes, but I really liked her! Has anyone else confronted a dilemma like this?

I''d send a little follow up note: "I really enjoyed meeting with you! I''d like to get this locked and loaded (planted and watered?) by date X, do you think you could get me a quote by then?" If she meets the firm deadline, you''re golden. Go with her. Just always give several extra days for your interactions with her.

I''d do the same as Indy-send another email/call and let her know that you would appreciate a reply by such and such a date, if she replies by that time then you''re good, if she doesn''t, much as I like her, I''d pick someone that gets back to me quicker.

Good grief! I met with a florist for less than an hour during which she created *bouquets* out of stuff on hand as examples, and then gave me a quote. Total time spent with florist then and subsequently did not exceed 2 hours max! I could not have been happier with my flowers; they were perfect.

You know, my whole wedding process was so darn easy and stress free that I''m starting to feel quite smug.

The inn took only two meetings (and they did the catering, linens, centerpieces, and cake); the florist was two meetings; the dress was two visits and two alterations; the invites were DIY online and get them a week later. The whole shebang was planned in less than 3 months; and it really turned out beautifully.

Now I''m really going to surprise folks:
1) I never got to try on my dress prior to ordering; it was a leap of faith. And it was perfect.
2) We never taste tested the catering or the cake prior to the wedding. Everything was delicious.
3) We had seen only fabric swatches of our table linens. The tables were simple and elegant.

Maybe we just made a great choice in venue and vendors; but they far exceeded our expectations.
