F903B68D-780F-46C8-ABFB-C555AC9C1921.jpeg Sometimes types of jewellery are out of fashion or damaged and rather than “scrap” I like to repurpose.
I also love a good buy, I trawl eBay, Gumtree (like Craigslist) and auctions for little treasures at a bargain price.
I also “buy” on eBay for family and friend (I’m the one with 1400 feedback!). Tasked with finding a nice little silver bracelet for a niece, I came across a suitable listing, however a “zero” seller. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere I thought as I perused the listings. All old fashioned type costume jewellery with a few pieces of silver jewellery etc. I messaged the seller, turns out to be an elderly gent whose wife has passed (no kids) and he is selling off her few odds and ends to raise some $$. Seeing as there wasn’t a lot there I bought all his listings, for about $100. And in the little parcel that arrived was a rather nice Avon pin, 9ct gold and a nice little sapphire. I had paid $5 for it. So I simply sent him via PayPal another $100 and a message that the pin was worth at least $105 so he must accept this extra money. He did with many thanks.
I had a gold watch band, the watch was accidently worn into the shower (by my grandma) and wrecked. I had hoped to find another watch to pair it with by never did.
Then I had a thought..... this is the result. Very sweet and very wearable bracelet (with safety chain)

Oh! Lovely!

How very sweet of you to pay him the extra money when you discovered an item that was worth more than he had asked! :appl: Great idea to pair the pin with the watch bracelet!

Aww, what a great outcome, both for your niece and this gentleman! I'm sure he was astounded when you contacted him to send him more money...that's incredibly rare these days! Kudos to you!

Lovely! :appl:

Thank you. I’m a firm believer in fairness and kindness. I’ll scoop a bargain from a “dealer / experienced seller” but never want to take advantage of an honest and naive seller. Bad karma in my books. And the extra joy of repurposed items is that they are unique.

Super cool (and good karma to boot). Win-win it is lovely :kiss2:

It is very pretty, and I love the story behind it. I'm sure the seller was more than grateful as well.
