Hello :-)
I just want to thank everyone on these forums for all their advice while my fiance and I were selecting my engagement ring and waiting for it to be repaired. I really appreciate all your help. I just received the ring today from being repaired (the gemstone stone was chipped and cracked when we picked it up), and will be having it appraised on Monday. My fiance paid $1,495 for the ring at a consignment shop/ estate jewelry shop. Is this price too good to be true? Sorry for the blurry pics. I will repost later when I can actually figure out how to take good quality pics with my digital camera.

Would anyone have any suggestions on how to alter/get used to a high setting? I usually do not wear jewelry, and am having difficulty adjusting. hehe ..Thanks in advance

The specs are:
Flame red spinel- 1.98 carats - Cut: Oval brilliant - 7.5x6.9x4.8 mm
Side diamonds- Cut: Round brilliant- Color: G/H - Clarity: SI - Carat: .35 CT (total weight)
Mounting: Platinum

Please go to this website to view pics (Sorry, I could not figure out how to upload them):

#1. Definitely not - sounds like a good price. The location and profile of the jeweler makes allot of difference

You have just found the right place !

#2. How high is it ? Is there "room" between the culet of the stone and your finger ? I can't see what kind of setting it is in the pics... but most can be adjusted up or down. Give it some time - that might help as well, as you say.

Can't wait to see more photos, the current ones are just great to rise high expectations about color

Is it that orangish red in person?
Orangish red is my favorite red.
