Hello all,

I just got picks of my newly improved ring -- and want to know what you all think. I upgraded the center stone (from a .50 to a .73) so that the proportions of the center to the two sides are more prominent. I should receive the ''actual'' ring tomorrow so all I have for now are pix. I definitely like the proportions better now, BUT the ''W'' looks different. It doesn''t cup the center stone quite like it did before - what do you think? It''s hard to tell from a photo so I''ll have to see for myself tomorrow. The wedding is in three weeks so I''m starting to get sick over this

Here is the old ring (with smaller center) so you can compare.

Am I being too picky about the look of the ''head'' of the ring?? It cups it a bit more in this ''older'' ring and not so much in the new.

The new one looks quite a bit more about the stone. The first was very beautiful and this one is even better

Anyway... it is your impression that counts. For me, it is hard not to like it at first sight!

What do you mean ?
I see the prongs retipped and the angle of the sidestones changed ever so slightly... but no difference that would show in person, really. The pictures show allot more detail.

The new ring definitely makes the center stone "pop" more and is beautiful!! Based on the photos, the "W" appears the same to me, but ultimately you have to be happy with it...I think it's absolutely stunning!!

EDIT: I just "got it!" The "W" in the original ring (around the center stone) bent slightly inward around the main stone in the first ring and now the prongs are straight outward...Is this the dilemma?

If so, I personally like the straighter prongs...(the new ring) as the "cupped" prongs almost looks as if the stone was too small but the larger stone seems to "fit" better with the prongs..

Again, you have to like your ring, but give it s chance when you receive it...I still think it's beautiful!!

Thank you! I really like the bigger center -- much happier!!

I''m trying not to judge it before I have it on my hand. Just want it to be perfect BUT if there''s an error on THEIR part want to fix it before it''s too late. Just tell me if I''m being too picky - I can take it!

I think the new one is amazing!! Really makes the center stone a star. I can''t see the difference in the W, but I think once you get it you will be very pleased.

I think the new stones look GREAT!

And I do not see what you mean about the "W." Do you mean the prongs that hold the center stone, or the collection of prongs that hold all three stones?

Either way, I do not see much difference and I think the new one looks beautiful!!

By the ''W'' I mean the part that holds the center stone - if you stare at the part underneath the center stone it looks almost like a ''W'' and it looks wider in the updated one, than in the first one (which seems to cup the center more - like a tulip). Hope that makes sense?? I''m babbling now...

The upgrade is beautiful!

You can definitely tell a big difference. I love the first one for its "look" but this one I love even more.

Okay, I think I know what you mean. But, with a bigger stone, isn''t it inevitable that the "W" be a bit wider?

The only difference I see is that at the top of the prongs on the new stone, they do not curve in as much as the old one. They are a bit straighter.

I think the new one looks great, though!

I see it and I can see what you mean...the new stone''s prongs are more straight than curved around the stone, agree that it''s probably that there is a bigger stone in the head of the ring, they used the same head right?

Unfortunately when you do things like reuse old heads for larger or smaller stones, you never REALLY know what you may get til it''s done...I had WF use my old head for a much bigger stone and love the new spreadier head look except that it''s harder to clean my pavilioin than before....however I really can''t have expected WF to know that would potentially bother me....they are not mind-readers--they were just doing what I asked.

Enjoy the new ring and don''t worry about it...as Val noted, pictures show very minute details. The new stone looks fabulous and the ring looks much better!

The ring I took the inspiration from (a Ritani) had a 1 ct center, I think, so I don''t think the W has to do with the size of the center -- that''s why I''m wondering if they made a wee bitty mistake?

I notice a small difference but then again, it''s mine, so I tend to stare at it a bit longer...[:rodent)

Actually -- they created a NEW head so that''s why it has me wondering what happened...hmmm

Oh if that is the case then they probably did not round the prongs as much as the old one....

If they have not shipped it, then have them modify it to curve more.

If they have shipped it, let them know you are sending it back to them to be fixed.

Good luck!

I absolutely love the new proportions and think you have a stunner of an e-ring. I love it!

I do see what you mean with the more angular W vs the slightly curved one. I would never have noticed without reading (and re-reading) the posts above-- but if you aren''t 100% thrilled than I''m sorry. I agree that the photo is going to magnify things a lot and you might not care once you have it on your hand.

Looking forward to an update with hand pics.

wow! it looks great! i wasn''t sure that there would be much of a difference, but there is. it definitely looks better! as far as the prongs, i see what you mean, but i think once you have that baby on your finger you will not even notice it anymore. can''t wait to see the hand pics!!

Your ring is GORGEOUS!!! I can''t believe how much of a difference there is! Want to hear something funny? With the "w" in the prongs now I thought, at first, that you had a Harry Winston setting--all it needs is an "H" on the other side

It looks fantastic! I think you definitely achieved the effect you were going for. The center stone pops much more now and although I understand what you mean about the prongs and the W, it still looks awesome. I''m so happy for you! Make sure to give us some hand shots when it arrives.

I''m MUCH, MUCH, MUCH happier with the proportions so I''m happy you all notice it, too! Definitely makes spending a little more $$ worth it. I will definitely send hand pics (when I figure out how).

I think the ring w/ bigger center diamond looks AMAZING!

I can''t wait to see hand shots and to see if you''re still bothered by the differences between this version and the 1st one. I think it looks wonderful and maybe if you can think of it as entirely "new" then you won''t be dwelling on the little variations...post photos ASAP!

looks nice! after looking at the pictures for 5 min i could see that the old prongs were curved more. but i rather doubt you''ll be able to see a difference when it''s not magnified. but if it''s important to you, then by all means have them fix it.

I LOVE the new look - I think the center stone is much more prominently featured. Nice.

I personally don''t see much of a difference in the W....but it stands to reason that if the stone is smaller, the prongs will "envelop" it more, and if it''s larger, they won''t. Which is more important to you.....the larger stone, or the more cupped look? You can''t get both....one trades off for the other.

I like this version of it.

I picked up the ring today and LOVE it!

The proportions are SOOOO much better and the W doesn''t look much different. It''s amazing how different it can look in person. The center now looks HUGE to me, which is never a bad thing. Sparkles like crazy.

I will try to post hand pics soon - I can''t seem to take clear enough pics with my digital. Anyone have the same problems with their Canon S30?

Thanks again for looking and the kind words!!

i just knew you would love it!!

can''t wait to see the hand pics!

I think it looks great! The proportions are definitely more of engagement ring like and the side view is great too, even if the W is a little different from the original.

So glad you are happy with it, I knew you would be!! Can''t wait to see the pics!!

Oh, I''m SO glad you are happy with it!

And yes, having the center stone look huge is a good thing!
