I joined to give Mara a hard time.... Just kidding!!!!
I joined to learn everything there is to know about diamonds and almost 5 years later am still learning and have the opportunity to pass on what I learned and maybe even add some data to the diamond knowledge bank.
You are a PS legend. Yup legend. You have added so much. Plus you picked my storm worthy asscher. Thank you for that!!!

I love reading your posts, your articles etc...

You have helped thousands I''m sure. So thanks!!!

You have been so generous of your time on here.

Some people may not realize how much time you put in, but I know what it takes,. You are what PS is all about....

Ahhhh, what a breath of fresh air! Thank you Iwanna for starting this!

I started lurking 3+ years ago while looking for my 10 year anni upgrade. I wanted something similar to the Tiffany Legacy (a halo in other words) and after a google search found this place. What a find! Most of the people here have hearts of gold. Not only can you see some of the most gorgeous bling in the world, but, you can create relationships be it online or in person. With three kids I don''t have a whole lot of time for the internet, but, I make time for Pricescope.

I joined almost a year after I started lurking. I didn''t lurk all the time...Just when I needed a fix. Which, sadly was much less often than it is now!
9.gif

I stay around for the reasons I mentioned. The bling is fab and comes in all sizes and shapes. The wonderful people can''t be beat. I love hearing about different ideas and viewpoints....Well, most of them anyway!

Ummmmm, and my fave is Lemon Pie. None needed in this thread, but, it is my favorite! Apple, too!

Strm, I can''t ditto the above post enough. I have learned so much through reading your posts, it''s been incredible. You have no idea how much you''ve helped me since I''ve been here.

I was replacing my broken e-ring and almost bought a ring at a local jewelry store. Before I took the plunge, I decided to do research. I can't remember what I typed in for a google search (probably something about cut), and the whole Pricescope educational section pulled up. Yay!!! I did a lot of research and took my time picking out my stone, and ended up with a gorgeous ring from Whiteflash. I keep checking this site because I love looking at everyone's purchases!

I don't post often because I don't feel like I have much knowledge to contribute, but I do mostly enjoy reading what others have to say!

That's what is so great about PS, you can talk about diamonds, and just about everything else. Plus I love seeing the PS family grow with all the baby PS'ers!!!

I joined PS while surfing information about my Tanzanite that DH had bought me in Mexico. It led me to this wonderful community. I love PS and have met so many wonderful and caring people in this community. I have learned so much about colored gemstones, which have led me to my purchases of my padparadscha sapphires..

I do hope to meet some PSers in real life one day.

How did you come across this community?

I can''t remember what I was searching for now? I found it interesting and lurked for almost 4 months just reading old threads.

What made you join?
I decided to buy from an online PS vendor and solicited some opinions on the stone.

What has kept you around?

I love jewelry, the PS posters are interesting, and the opportunity to learn more about diamonds.

How did you come across this community?

Well I randomly found the SMTR thread when I was starting my upgrade journey last December and I found a passion... obsession?... with diamonds that I never ever thought I would have!

What made you join?
I wanted to ask questions and gush over the SMTR rings. It honestly took forever to go into the other forums! I spent the first month in SMTR and then found my way into Hangout and Family, Health, and Home. Finally I ventured into Rocky Talky and started learning a lot.

What has kept you around?

The people for sure. In general

3.gif
I am amazed at how cool everyone is! And smart and funny. I like learning new things, and this is certainly the place to do that! I also like helping people, and for a while I was a very regular poster in Rocky Talky. And then somehow I managed to find the TTC thread and, well, the rest is history! I have formed some really really strong friendships through the pregnancy journey (so far!), which is honestly HILARIOUS! When I tell people I am a member of a forum about pregnancy they are like, "Where? The Nest?" and I have to say, "Noooo... see its a diamond forum..."
23.gif
LOL!! I never ever ever thought I would become and internet forum junkie, this is the first and only forum that I have ever really participated in. I just love it and I hope it keeps its "oldfashioned" "sugarcoated" charm. And its wicked sense of humor too
11.gif
Ever since I became preggers, I really really love pie.

How did you come across this community?
I think I kept running across it during my obsessive googling for "antique style sapphire engagement rings," and avoiding it because it was "just" a diamond education site. Hah. Then I actually started READING the colored stones forum, and realized exactly what a great resource it was.

What made you join?
I wanted to get some suggestions on styles for custom made settings for the above-mentioned sapphire e-ring, and immediately got fabulous help from people like Bertrand, belle, SanDiegoLady, Widget (where IS Widget, btw?), and valeria. They welcomed me warmly, posted a ton of links to exactly the style I was looking for, and even photoshopped pics for me as examples. It was awesome.

What has kept you around?
I think there are two things:
1) While the moderators have an inherent interest in keeping it focused mainly on buying diamonds, I like that they have allowed for the natural progression of topics to be discussed (i.e. engagement ring -> wedding -> buying houses -> having kids-> sharing problems and happy occasions). People who come here are interested in researching diamonds, but they also generally are "researchers" by nature, which makes them very well-informed and interesting. I''ve now met several PSer''s in person, and to a woman, they are all that as well as generous, funny, smart, and sweet! (Haven''t met any PS guys yet, but I''m sure it''s true there as well).

2)The fact that the forum is well-moderated contributes to the *generally* genial and helpful tone here. I''ve briefly joined other sites with less moderation, and find that they quickly degenerate into nastiness and name-calling. PS does get "off-track" in some forums and threads, but I find I''m perfectly capable of biting my tongue and avoiding those threads until the drama runs its course. I also find that the presence of many long-term members who have racked up tens of thousands of posts helps to create a more stable community feel. And it''s usually not "cliquey", either. Often, someone who''s been here since 2003 or 2004 will be the first to welcome a newbie, and won''t put them down for asking questions that have already been addressed ad nauseum.

I know maybe I don''t post as much as many others who have been here as long as me, but I try to be helpful where I can, or sympathetic when someone needs it, or to join in to laugh at a good joke.

iwannaprettyone, thanks for starting a great thread!

I found PS after I bought a pair of diamond studs and I wanted to know if I got a good deal. This is the only forum I'm a member of. I joined because I wanted to learn more about diamonds. What has kept me around? PS has educated me about diamonds and helped me find a great diamond upgrade. I also love that PS is more than just about diamonds. The wedding planning, TTC, pregnant, and mommies threads has kept me here. Like Tacori and dreamer, my pregnancy has brought me closer to a lot of members. There are a lot of wonderful people on PS! I've also met many PSers at GTG's and they are such a fun group to hang out with! Plus I love looking at all the SMTR threads with gorgeous jewelry and living vicariously through PSers.

Who knew I'd still be here 4 years later!

How did you come across this community?
Google, of course. Searching for info on Asschers the very first minute I had an inkling my DH & I might ever get hitched.

What made you join?
To sass Mara. Boy, she''s a force of nature (in the best possible way), no?
3.gif
Okay, I also was sucked head-first into the whole Octagonal Asscher Pave Halo vortex & couldn''t free myself. And then I got involved in people''s stories & progress & wanted to keep up ... also, pitch in when I could -- especially about Asschers or design or celebs or pop culture or dogs or offering personal stories that might relate to someone''s current situation etc.

What has kept you around?
I''m going to have to think about that. Habit? Not sure anymore. I''m not generally a "support-seeker". And so many of the folks that I really clicked with early on have, um, moved on: Irina, Fountainfairfax, Blueroses, Wallermama, Widget, heck -- even Mara for the most part. And lately there''s seemed like so much I have to avoid that it''s hard to find the fun parts anymore. Food for thought.

Hey, what ever happened to Miss Mara?

I also was not EVER someone on on line forums, had never even thought to post. And I just sat here night after night reading posts, really feeling like I got such a nice sense of certain people. I loved a lot of the stories too.

Some mainstays are gone, and I wish I know what happened to them, but new people join too and some many people are just great and have SUCH incredible knowledge and insight. It is awesome!

I was lurking on another diamond message board where they often mentioned Pricescope. One day I got curious and googled Pricescope, and I''ve been here ever since. I love looking at jewelry, and there is always great company here.

Some of the message boards I visit are brutal. This is one of the most civilized boards I have ever seen, even when there is an occasional dust-up.

How did you come across this community?

I think through a random goggle search when I was looking at diamonds but it took many random searches to actually look at the forum closer, I think I stumbled across the LIW forum to begin with I must have found it at a really bad time because it initially scared me however overtime and reading the forum I got to know it a little better and saw the support the ladies had for each other.

What made you join?

I lurked for a while reading threads to scared to post trying to find out as much information about diamonds as I could to help FF''s search when the right time came. I found what at the time I thought was a great price for a I think it was 2ctish diamond and posted asking advice however after talking to the vendor the price was per carat I felt so silly after that but in my newbie defense the website pricing was very misleading.

What has kept you around?

At first it was the search for the right diamond and then it was to help others and pass on what little knowledge that I have to others and now it is really all that and the people. This place is really a wonderful community sure there are spats here and there but overall I feel the love and I really enjoy posting/venting/oggling etc here.

I first stumbled upon PS when my FF and I decided to go ring shopping, and I wanted to do a little research first. I also sent my FF the pricescope tutorial! I joined because even though we''re done ring shopping and now just waiting on the engagement, I have really enjoyed hanging around and getting the support and advice from all of you wonderful PSers! This is the first forum I''ve ever joined, but I just couldn''t resist! I''m sure I''ll be here for awhile and am so happy to have found this community!
