Ring Design Details

I like the in between! Hope it works out for you!

Thank you, inching closer! It's all the small details that I have analysis paralysis about, but it certainly looks like it'll be worth the efforts <3

I've been able to sort through so many details in the past few weeks!

For the profile view, I think I'm going to opt into an in between version (not totally flat or round). I had a general rendering done, not that you can see that view anyway, but I was told the in between would likely work best!

It looks very very nice! Sounds like the best of both worlds. I'm sure it'll look amazing in the end :kiss2:

Any idea of what the style of plain wedding band would be called that might match the style of the ER shank? I thought maybe 'low dome' but it may be too domed? (image with blue background).

I'd like to try the style on in person, or a style that would likely match it best to get a better sense of how it would look on the hand.

I am also going to do different widths from ER to plain band. I REALLY like the look of 2mm and 4mm together, but the ER in the photo is 3mm.

With that in mind, I thought, ok maybe do 3mm engagement ring and 5mm plain band... that might take up a lot of space on my actual finger :S

Anyway, all of this to say, I wanted to try on different bands, hopefully of the style that would at least match the ER, then see how a 3mm and 5mm look together.

I have a plain cheap Amazon band and it's 4 mm. I'd say (for me) as a stand alone band it works, but probably too thick to combine with another ring. Not sure if that helps, but picture for reference. My finger size is 4.20230215_074356.jpg

I do really like the 4mm with another ring (shown below). This is actually 4.2 mm paired with a 2mm. The only thing is, the ER (shown in my last post) is 3mm and I prefer that look, so in order to have the variance between the ER and plain band, I'd have to do 3mm ER with 5mm plain band... not sure if that will be too much, but I'd also have to see it with a band that would suit the ER shank to see.

It's so hard to conceptualize everything from photos alone, but I think it must be a low-dome style, although a friend of mine says she thinks it wouldn't match.

Just to add another wrinkle! You need to have some idea of the height off the finger of the wedding band and engagement ring if you want them to match in that way too - much like the 4.2 mm band and the 2 mm engagement ring pictured above. If the heights are too dissimilar, then one ring sticks out further than the other not giving the seamless fit that you might be looking for in your rings. I say this because you are very exact in the look you are wanting.
It is hard to match exactly if you can't try them on together. You might nail down the engagement ring and then go shopping with it to try on bands. Just a thought!

Ohh you know me already, ha. We figured we can get the eternity down in depth to 2-2.2mm. Now, we agree that it is thick/deep for an engagement ring and wedding band to match, but this is likely the route I need to take.

If the eternity is 2.2mm (depth) and the other rings are just a tad thinner (in depth), I think I will accept that.

I do agree trying to merge these looks are complicated, since I will only wear the eternity occasionally, if the ER and wedding band are more uniform in width and depth, I will sacrifice the eternity being off ever so lightly.

As I say, analysis paralysis lol.

Here is the exact eternity with a wedding band, this is higher than 2.2mm in depth (what we think we can lower it to).

While this is not the wedding band I’d get, it doesn’t appear to “thick/deep”, so it makes me feel a bit better. 1FC6BECF-CB4A-4361-BF5F-7D8B5B25A0AC.jpeg

Yes, from the picture it looks like it would work so that’s good!

Not too bad! Originally I didn't wanted a gap like that between my fingers. I just wanted a 7 stone not an eternity for that reason, but I'm realizing I can't "have it all" when piecing together 3 pieces like this with keeping a certain aesthetic.

I realized in also designing a 7 stone as part of the design, where the stones would end and the metal would meet, instead of having a really rounded appearance that a full eternity has, it almost gave a straight/flat line effect across my finger. Hope that makes sense lol.

Ahhh, slowly but surely inching there, but I definitely feel the home stretch approaching, just need to figure out how the plain band would look if it were to match the shank of the ER... seems to be the only detail I'm unsure about.
