Ring shopping (but more!)

it is from gemfix. it's the "Sale Pending" 1.67 carat on the newest gems page in the 10th row: http://www.gemfix.com/newest_gems.html

It's here now, sitting in front of me, but I'm waiting for either my BF to get home OR him to text me to say it's ok to open it.

torture. I'm worried it might be too dark/ be a little extinct.

why hasn't he texted me back? LOL
I hate that! Andrew wanted to open the diamond together so I had to sit there and stare at the box for 6 hours for him to get home from work. Torture doesn't even begin to describe it.

ETA: I love the richness of the color. I hope it isn't too dark/extinct once you see it!

Oh it looks beautiful!! Can't wait to hear how you like it in person. :))

SO didn't say I couldn't open it, or that he wanted to open it together, BUT I'm still waiting unless he says it's ok.

Yeah, I'd wait too. It's hard. What time will he be home?

4 or 5... so at least it won't be 6. That would kill me!

Only 1-2 more hours then! You can do it! :appl:

I actually really love it! Photos tomorrow!

Great news!! Can't wait to see them!!

OH maebelle! It's beautiful! And it is the perfect size on your hand!! I can't wait to see your final setting choice and see the final product!! :appl:

So we've decided on the Crossed Trellis from Brian Gavin with 3.4 mm sidestone diamonds. I got the insurance through, but now the SO is saying he wants to wait for the 15th to pay for it (for various reasons) ;( That's only three weeks away, and I'll ship my stone two weeks from now so they get it right at the same time as payment. I agree with his reasoning but emotionally I WANT IT NOW :)

I can't wait! Here is a link to the setting, but my sidestones are much smaller, I wanted the sapphire to be the star of the show, it to be low profile, but substanstial. And I can easily add anniversary bands.

And because this took so long to put together we are also backing up the wedding till the fall sometime. This really did take some of the pressure off and I'm much happier for it. I was worried that it was getting too close and it would be impossible to get my parents up here on short notice, even if we are going to the courthouse.

It is going to be beautiful!! How long will it take for them to make it for you?

3 weeks after we pay them/ get them the sapphire so I'm looking at 6 weeks ;(

Bummer!! It'll go by quicker than you think!

aw bummer. I'm sure the 6 weeks will go by fast though!! and at least you have a timeline now, that's good to know. how exciting!!

Beautiful stone and setting. I love that shade of blue

Eek 6 weeks not that long to go!! It may seem long but I'm sure the time will fly by.

6 weeks will go by too quickly! YAY!

One day closer than yesterday! :Up_to_something:

1 week til I ship the stone
2 weeks til we pay
5 ish weeks til I get it back

More obsessive countdown-ing to come

I'd like to tell you it's easier once the stone leaves to be set...but it's not. If anything, I'm more anxious because I'm worried something will go wrong during setting or shipping :errrr: But I'm a mess, so, take that for what it's worth.

Oh yeah, I am not looking forward to the week it'll be in registered mail. USPS tracking is a JOKE. At least BGD ships the ring via insured Overnight Fedex to your closest fedex location, which WILL be trackable

Thankfully I never had to deal with registered mail. Pearlmans paid my shipping to and from them UPS insured and trackable. and BGD did the FedEx overnight insured and trackable. Helps, but I was still uneasy the whole time.

Shipped it today, registered mail. I'm already nervous!!! :errrr:

The registered mail code isn't trackable right now, I'm hoping that's because I dropped it off only 2 hours ago... If it isn't trackable the whole time I'm going to FLIP OUT

Tracking is always poopy on ALL the different couriers. Don't worry, it'll tell you that they GOT IT, though :)

Count down, count down, count down yay!

It's "trackable" and "accepted" now. So It will at least tell me when they've got it. Hooray!

YAY!! You'll be nervous until it arrives. Try and distract yourself. Relax. It likely won't update the tracking the ENTIRE time it's in transit. It'll post (as I see it did below) that it was accepted and then you'll see when it's delivered. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

lol, I calmed down a lot when it was at least searchable in the system, I know from experience when the stone came to me that they won't update again until it is in Houston, and probably not until after BGD emails me to say it's there. I should have bought a GPS dot or something

omgomgomg I WANNA SEE ITTT!!! I just posted in your other thread. I'm still avoiding the colored stone section... but your stone made my heart stop.

Just sayin.

I never thought of that!! :Up_to_something:

Maebelle, I totally feel your pain. We custom designed my ring and although it only took about 5-6 weeks from the CAD concept drawing, to picking out the sapphire, to being on my finger it felt like it took FOREVER! I think that because I wasn't allowed to see it with any of the stones on it, made it more nerve-wrecking. I kept thinking "but what if he doesn't get it just so? Will it be like the ring that I've been dreaming of? Will I love it?"

Once the gold was made, I was only able to try it on my finger to make sure it was sized correctly and then I wasn't going to be able to see it until he proposed to me.

I am sending you positive vibes and hope that the time goes by fast and that you get your sparkly on your finger A.S.A.P!
