The stone is still with USPS but it is at the sort facility in Houston! (Their tracking is getting better!)

We pay tomorrow!

2-3 ish weeks til we get it back!

And neither of us can keep gifts for very long, so I imagine I'll get to wear it quite soon after that.

I'm driving myself a little crazy. Brian Gavin told me 10-15 business days and it has been 6. I want more information about where they are in the process, but none of my emails have been answered (I haven't sent too many I promise!) I don't want to up the ante to calling them , because I'm just genuinely curious, but I would appreciate it if I got an email, even just an acknowledgment that they got my email but don't have any information for me. Am I being crazy? is this too much to ask?

Not too much to ask, but I personally didn't contact IDJ about mine until about half a week after i expected to hear from them. I asked for a picture and still nothing.

I'll try to be strong until next tuesday, which will be the 10 business day mark and the beginning of their range about when it'll be done.

But... But... But... I want it! I've somehow been reduced to (at least in my head) feeling like an impatient toddler. My SO graduated from med school yesterday and I was a bit annoyed with his aunt's probing about us getting married. I want to tell her to hold her horses, you've got a shorter wait than you realize (something I should be yelling at myself perhaps)!

Who have you emailed? I get not bothering until after the period they quoted, but when they were working on my recut I emailed in early and asked how it was going. Mostly because I was working with them on the recut and Pearlmans on the setting and I was trying to keep them informed on the progress (but also because I wanted to know). I was working directly with Brian and Lesley though, and I did get a response when I asked.

IMO you're a customer and if you want an update during this exciting time, ask for one. Let them know you have family inquiring and you were hoping to get to share the news and such and such upcoming event and wanted to see if there was any chance it was coming along more quickly than quoted. Can't hurt.

After not getting a response this time I decided to try their other avenues of getting into contact and got a response only when I called. I talked to Lesley then, but she seemed very busy, so I just told her my concern (there is a tiny white speck of an inclusion I want to be under a prong) and we got off the phone. The conversation lasted about 30 seconds.

I should probably call again, since that's what worked the first time.

I know I'm the customer, but I don't want to be *that* customer, you know?

I do know. It's hard. You could also try emailing someone who IS less busy than Lesley because she is ALWAYS busy. I've had very good luck with Jamie as well. I got emails from Jamie when Lesley was out of town, very helpful.

On another note, check out Mark Zuckerberg's wife's new engagement ring! Pretty little three stone ruby. switch the red to blue and you've got my ring! (Mine is a tad bigger, but she has tiny hands) I love that more people (including bazillionaires) are getting colored stone engagement rings.

Well the good news is that's not far off!! The OTHER good news is that there is still over half a week to go. Setting the stone will likely be almost the last part. Reply and make sure she knows how you want the stone oriented before it ships to you.

I can tell you that I have found Lesley to respond better and more quickly to emails she's already sent you. New messages don't get responded to as quickly. So replying from something you've already received is most likely to be gotten to more quickly (in my experience).

Case in point, yesterday in this thread I realized I never sent her finished photos of our ring that she asked for. So I replied to an email she sent about our recut being done and she responded within the hour.

I'm glad you heard back! The good news is turning the stone orientation isn't a huge deal. But voice your wants so they get it right the first time!

It's also so nice to see a 3-stone with sapphire centre, since it's on my list of options (with pear sides though). I think it's going to look STUNNING on your hand- I just love your sunlight shot of the stone.

I love pear side stones! I was definitely considering them, but the SO nixed them. He is weirdly particular about strange things sometimes!
